My son purchased a phone online and we brought the phone in to get activated. We learned from Brad that the independent retailers don't get credit for these sales, but he was gracious with his time and helped us get it activated. I definitely recommend supporting our local retailers during this time. The store was clean and had tape on the floor for social distancing. The employees wore masks. If we hadn't gone into the store, we would not have learned about upgrades going on at this time (e.g. LG paid off the balance of my phone). We went to the cellular Sales Verizon Wireless store at 6820 Sawmill Rd Columbus, OH 43235 and my husband added a line 2 days ago because we needed an Android phone for a work app and we both have iPhones. (We both worked for the Verizon Wireless call center for years btw so we are extremely familiar with how it all works) We told the sales rep, Kurt Mohrman what we were doing and that we needed to try the app and he told us about the return policy, etc which we already knew. He specifically states that if we needed to return it within the 14 day worry free guarantee period then to make sure to come back to him because he could wave the $35 restocking fee as long as the phone wasn't damaged. We took it home then realized the app we needed JUST came out for iPhone so we don't need the extra line at all now and had we waited one more day we never would have gotten the phone. When my husband went to return it Kurt within 48 hours, he all but pulled out a magnifying glass to inspect it and said there was a tiny scratch UNDER the magnetic back cover that the phone comes with that we never once took off. This ohone certainly wasnt i spected this way upon us buying it and going home with it. in fact, the sales rep, Kurt had himself removed and replaced the back cover multiple times in the store while trying to tell us about the accessories we could buy for it. We didn't need anything extra so had absolutely no reason to ever remove that cover ourselves and had we scratched the phone I would pay it with no problem, but its impossible since we never removed this cover and these are very shady business practices going on in this store. All we did was do a test call, test texts and charge the phone prior to returning it. So now instead of the normal $35 that he said he'd be able to waive he now said he'd have to charge us $50 for the "damage" because now it needs to be returned to Motorola which you know is not going to happen. I would love to see this in writing as to where the amounts above the $35 come from but he couldn't provide that of course and just said they can charge more than the $35. I will provide you the device ID number so you can verify if they try to sell it to someone else as a new undamaged phone since he assured my husband it needed to go back to Motorolla. Device ID #354-130071848474 and it was active on phone #614-800-4186 for 2 days. My husband and I even told him when we were buying the phone that it didn't look brand new because it had slight fingerprints on the outside casing he couldn't wipe off and even had someone else's phone number in it when we were setting up Gmail but it wasn't damaged at all so we took it because he said it was new and hadn't been used by anyone which should also be verified. Now he said they want to charge $50 for nothing! Total scammers trying to sell damaged items as new or trying to find ways to scam customers. read more

I came here today to figure out some changing around of current phone plans. I was helped immediately on arrival by Kyle. I had to of asked him about 30 questions but he patiently informed me of all the answers. I left today feeling extremely aware of everything I needed to do to change my plan! He even wrote down phone numbers for me as well as step by step instructions on how to get off one plan and join up on my boyfriends plan. We went into this store to update our phones to the IPhone 7, along with submit my pay stub to receive an employee discount. 2 months later I found out that when they submitted the request the pay stub was never faxed and my discount was rejected. Also I tried to tell the store manager that the gentleman who helped us was not familiar that if a plan is changed that the discount will fall off. Instead of being sympathetic to our experience he argued with me and advised me that he was not aware either. 2 visits and 5 phone calls later and the only resolution is I have to go back into Verizon a 3rd time and resubmit my pay stub. I would not recommend this store if you have a complex transaction. read more

I came to this story to upgrade my iPhone 5s to an iPhone 7 after a particularly horrific experience with the conmen at the 4740 Reed Rd Verizon store (DON'T go there!). The representative who's name I wish I would've gotten was so lovely, kind, and helpful. She laid out all of my possible options, her advice, and what the pros and cons of each were. She was genuine and honestly cared about getting me the best deal for my needs, not her sale and quota mark. I almost wanted to abandon Verizon completely after my terrible experience at the 4740 Reed store, but the folks here changed my mind. I'll definitely be returning to this store for all my future Verizon needs. read more

This place is fraudulent- drive a little further and go to an actual Verizon store. They lie about the service charges, and their sales bill is completely unintelligible. The sales man mocked my current phone, and told me my husband must not be very bright if he handed over his credit card without understanding. It was a complete bait and switch. I am appalled by the customer service I received at this store or 2 separate occasions. I brought a 3 day old iPhone 6s back to this store where an associate inspected my phone and immediately determined there was a manufacturer hardware defect. After getting his manager's approval, he ordered me a replacement phone which was scheduled to deliver a few days later. When I returned to the store, a different associate refused the exchange stating the phone was not resaleable--I would have to go through Apple. The phone was returned with a confirmed manufacturer hardware defect and at the time of return Verizon Wireless Cellular Sales was obligated by contract to honor the section of my contact for Borrower's Right To Cancel. In addition to it being under a 14 day manufacturer warranty. read more
