DON'T BUY AN APPLE, IT'S JUNK!! I purchased an apple I 6 phone at Costco in Camillus on Feb 22, 2016. I wanted to buy the phone outright but, it costs you more than if you do a payment plan. So of course I am on a payment plan for two years. In June, my phone started to act up and didn't seem to be working right. I went to the Verizon store on Rt. 31 and they looked at my phone. My phone is under a one year warrantee. They agreed it was defective so they ordered a replacement phone to be delivered to my home. In return I had to send back the defective phone. Now the replacement phone is only under warranty until Feb. 2017 (8 months). About 4 weeks later the replacement phone I received was not working right. So, again I went to the Verizon store on Rt. 31. They told me it is a refurbished phone and was out of warranty and that there was nothing they could do. I told them, I bought the original phone in Feb. and it is still under warrantee. They still said no. One of the employees came up to me and said the he also had a problem with his I phone. He took right to the Apple Store not their store and the Apple Store replaced it with no problem. He suggested I do the same thing. I went to the Apple store, waited a long time only for the girl ask me if I did something to the phone and I said no that is a replacement from Verizon. She said she really felt bad but she couldn't help me because there are third party parts in the phone. If it had all apple parts they would of given me a new one no problem. So now I paid over $500.00 for a refurbished phone with third party parts. That's not right! The girl suggested I go to Verizon and tell them everything. She also handed me a number for Verizon incase I didn't get anywhere at the store. I did everything right and they should make it good, she said. My husband and I went to the Verizon store in the mall and explained everything. They agreed that this phone was defected too and they were willing to send me another refurbished one. Even though you buy a new phone, no matter what they always replace it with refurbished ones. At this point my husband and I were so mad that we went back to Costco's. I explained everything to them and I said they should take this phone back and give me a new one off the shelf. They said sorry but they could only help in the first 90 days. They suggested I call Verizon and demand to talk to a supervisor. I went home called Verizon and demanded to talk to a supervisor. I went through the the whole story all over again. This guy said he could not understand why the Apple Store said they were third party parts. He said, they send all their phone that need repair to them. There refurbished phones all come from Apple. OK, so all this tells me is that someone's passing the buck on the third party parts. Is it Apple or Verizon? He set up for me to receive another refurbished phone. I explained that I use my phone for my business and can't go without one. He waved the extra charge for overnight delivery. It was Sat., so hopefully I would see it on Monday. I received the refurbished phone from the mall on Monday and the overnight delivery one on Tues. Of course I only needed one so I sent back my defective phone and one refurbished phone. So now I have paid over $500 for a refurbished phone that I don't even know if it is all apple parts and its under warranty until Feb 2107 (7 months). Can they really do this? Is it fair that I pay that kind of money for a used phone? I think the people should know that if they buy a phone from Verizon to be careful cause they may be paying big bucks for a brand new phone but they may end up with a refurbished phone with third party parts for those big bucks! read more
