I wanted a new phone and my carrier is Spectrum. I was seen in less than 10 minutes by a very friendly, smiling employee,Savannah Lounsbury. I have an apple iphone and because of the facial recognition I had to sign out of it and return in an hour. I screwed up and had to return later. Savannah was just as pleasant and helpful with me hours later. She assured me it would be done properly and it was. I left there very happy, and smiling. I ecently i had the following experience with spectrum. And they wounder why folks are leaving. I recently orderd a new modem as mine was outdated. Installed the new new modem no issues. the next day i went to spectrum to returm my old modem and phone box. the the person looked up my account and proceeded to accept and credit my account. Next he said he could lower my bill from 309 to 215 a month. I hesitated thinking whats the catch. So I asked what is different from what i have know. Quote "everything will be the same". I asked again everything the same. Yes they said. So i proceeded to go ahead with the change. I left and went homne a happy camper. Now the fun starts. First my in ternet went from 400mps to 100mps. No some tv stations can no longer access. So i called spectrum to ask about this. The person looked into it and i Quote " you have and old package we do no offer anymore". So i nased about the internet. We do not offer that anymoire you have to go to 500mps and that will cost you another $5 a month. Was not happy but did that. As for the tv strations i lost they are know longer offered in that same package that i had before. Yes my bill is less but why on earth did the not tell me about the internet and tv downgrades? So if i want those othere channels I will have to ugrade for everyone of them or get another add on package called enterainment something. I said no to that!. I will not be suprized over the next year my bill will be going up and i will be going elsewhere. What they really need is to allow folks to pick there stations for a charge after a basic package. The service is inconsistent and unprofessional. I forgot my ID when going to pick up a router and the attendant said that ID was required. I go all the way home and come back only to talk to another attendant who tells me ID is not necessary. What a waste of time. Just terrible. However, the second attendant was very fast and helpful. I would not recommend Spectrum to anyone. Recently, I had an unforeseen situation come up. At the time before my bill due date. I called Spectrum and asked if could an extension on my bill. I felt being proactive was the best approach. During the phone call I was told, No that could not happen because Spectrum does not have the tools for this. The representative continued to tell me if I didn't get my payment in my service would be subject to disconnection. Buffering, screen freezing TERRIBLE customer service with representatives making up different answers and the sales department will literally try to pry your wallet open for what ever they can get out of you. The service was very slow. I waited for 20 minutes just for them to say I needed my old router in order to exchange it for a working one. I read online and talked to 2 Spectrum agents, who both told me I could turn in my old router at a different time. Nowhere on the site does it say that they don't accept later returns. When we first moved here, we didn't know any better, and ordered Spectrum. Not only did we get WAY less bandwidth, throttled upload and download speeds, but we also got surprise fees. We found out we could get fiber via FiOS, so we cancelled and switched to them. I was still pretty neutral about it. Today, however, an extremely aggressive Spectrum salesperson came to my door. In a pandemic! He came to my door, and I told him we weren't interested in switching back, or purchasing anything. He would NOT go away. He just got more and more aggressive and pushy. He began to get a bit insulting. I kept telling him no, and he kept pushing. I finally told him "you're really pushy. No thank you, goodbye!" He started YELLING at me about their cell phone service. He even kept yelling at my closed door, before finally slamming my porch door and storming off down the stairs. I was polite and let him take way more of my time than I wanted- I was busy- but he got super aggressive. Honestly, I'm a bit worried the guy will come back and mess with us, or the stuff on our porch. I've dealt with people pitching obnoxious sales before, but this guy was confrontational and threatening. I am no longer neutral about Spectrum. I now actively dislike it. I visited this Spectrum store twice in the span of two days. The first experience was great, I received my equipment very quickly and with great service, I was honestly confused as to why the reviews were so bad. I ended up having to return a piece of equipment they gave me because it was not included in my plan and I would be charged. I returned to the store to return the equipment (which I was then told it WAS part of my plan and I didn't need to return it, lame). During my second visit to the store I realized why there were so many bad reviews. The customer service was absolutely appalling, but particularly only from Katie. I overheard her whole conversation with a guest in which she got rude and aggressive, meanwhile the customer was telling her to calm down and that it wasn't that deep. Her tone to this man was condescending, snappy, and frankly very agitating. I am glad I got to work with India, who was so caring and respectful. She explained my account issues, even showing me the screen to allow me to see for myself, and was professional and welcoming, so thank you to India. I've been trying to add a new iPad to my mobile account for 2 days. I've been on the phone 3 times--going through all the irritating questions, wait time, etc each time--and have been in the store twice. The first time for about an hour, the second time for over 2 hours. We were making some progress the second time when the service "went out." Whatever that means. I went to this Spectrum store a few months ago and spoke with a very nice and helpful employee. He helped me get set up with Internet Ultra. I have since upgraded to the max 1 gigabit speed. A week or two ago I switched to Spectrum Mobile to add on to my services. I have the Unlimited Plus plan. I'm talking about the people at the top, they're scumbags in my opinion & don't take ownership in their mistakes, nor do they take care of their customers. They installed the wrong size line on my house years ago, had many problems & they just kept changing modems & routers & inconvenience me with appointments. I got to the point where I just lived with it. I never knew the wrong line was on my house until I finally went out & bought my own netgear router & they informed me of the signal problem, I had to much signal because of the bigger wire. They finally sent a good tech that explained everything to me in detail, I dealt with issues for years not months. After contacting them after the tech informed me of everything & asking them to make things right, the are fighting me tooth & nail & don't want to take care of me, their customer of over 50 years! This is very surprising to me that they don't want to do what's right after paying them thousands & thousands of dollars over the years. This should be a warning to anyone that gives this company one penny! I will never refer anyone to them & talk anyone out of doing any business with them. Spectrum Cable, responded to my request for set up assistance the very day I requested. I had already self-installed modem and router with ease. Downloaded password to multiple devices. However TV's (3) remained inoperable. Pete and Todd were the IT team they sent. Enormous assistance syncing several TV's to internet; removed excess cable from outlets, and left my home spotless. spectrum is a disgusting company. my building only has spectrum set up but i will look into verizon. they charged me $85 per month for basic internet and 10 tv channels. i cancelled the TV hoping to go back to my original monthly rate of about $45 and was told the new cost for basic internet is $71/month. are you kidding me? also the service guy i spoke to on the 1800 number and his supervisor were pigs- trying to lure me into more services. they also basically told me that they would never lower the price bc im dissolving a service. spectrum, you are corporate pigs who deserve bankruptcy. i dont understand how the county hasnt gotten involved yet. read more

Over the past few years I have had to go to this site to replace, return or other with extremely positive results. Yesterday I needed to turn return a box(due to massive rate increases) and the place was a zoo. I signed in and they said at least twenty minutes. I asked what was going on and they said they are NOW A MOBILE PHONE STORE, I guess that means they are NOT a customer service center. I noticed an elderly couple apparently LEARNING about cell phones. After 30 minutes and only 30 minutes because half the people ahead of me just walked out, I was called. I voiced my concern and mentioned the elderly couple still at the counter, The rep said they have been there for over an hour. That is taking up one of the three out of say six employees actually helping customers. Spectrum needs to change this asap. If it was allowed, this review would fall into less than no stars. Spectrum has come a long way since the early days of cable TV. Nice clean office, hyperpolite computer clicking, "I feel your pain" conversational reparte' (in contrast to the robotic phone based) representatives. Actual services are far more diverse in type and number...though not necessarily so with regard to program quality. My problem with Spectrum or Charter or whatever it is...is the marketing technique shown in these two images. This is how they treat seniors after years of loyalty. This is what happens without government regulation. Spectrum has not accepted its responsibility to provide reasonably priced service equal in importance to other public utilities. It has chosen to line its pockets with the limited resources of senior citizens and less financially fortunate...rampant greed. This is why anti-trust laws exist. read more

I unfortunately don't have a choice when it comes to my Internet provider. When I do I'll likely be switching to Verizon Fios. The download and upload speeds can't compete (and no, I don't want to pay the extra $15/mo for faster speeds). It's laughable how slow it is compared to Fios. I have the most basic of basic TV packages, and I'm considering canceling that now to try to save more money. My recommendation is to get Netflix and Hulu (despite the commercials) instead. And if you have the choice, go with Verizon- especially if you don't watch much TV, like me. Also, stop trying to force landline phones on us. They're dead. You've lost the battle. A few months ago I posted a review because my Spectrum bill jumped about $30 per month. Tonight I received this month's bill for January and it's now up another $15 per month to $175. This is more than I can take. Tomorrow I am cancelling my phone service and my cable tv. An elderly family member had started getting scam calls so I wanted to put a privacy plan on her phone where only approved phone numbers would go through. Give you the run-around until you're so fed up you contemplate just paying them to make it go away. Also, some hair-losing. Long story: 6 years ago when my boyfriend (now husband) and I moved in together we signed up for internet service. It was such a hassle getting it installed (monday between 8 and 4) then nothing. call tuesday (we'll definitely be there today). nothing. i think it was a full week before we had service. Luckily by calling and complaining they nixxed the set-up fee or something. Over the next 6 years we watched our monthly payment go up, little by little until we were paying more than double what we started. Yes, I know that's how the economy works, but still.... Cars don't cost double what they did 6 years ago. This past summer our service plain stopped working one day. Call. on hold for eternity. finally talk to a human and they inform me that i need to call a different number. naturally. more calls. more waiting. more passing off to a different department... After finally getting the correct department and person to explain the problem to it seemed like someone would be out to our place to investigate the problem. THEN THEY ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO UPGRADE TO THEIR SUPER AWESOME PLUS PACKAGE BS.... really?! you want to sell me a different product when the one I'm currently paying too much for doesn't work?! great business plan. Then we decided to move. to Washington state. Across the country. Where there is no TWC (yay?!). So I went into the Ithaca branch office with my router, and cancelled my service. that was Aug 14th. She had trouble cancelling the account, but said it would be handled by her manager, and she gave me a receipt, and I owed nothing. super. BUT WAIT. fast-forward to last week when I got an email of my bill. $136.64. WHAT? I called the next day. more of the same crap of calling 5 different numbers/departments and getting the run-around. This was 2 days ago, and I'm still fuming. I spoke with 4 different people (most of which were trying to get my credit card info to 'settle my bill' or sell me something) and I had to get pretty irate before someone with authority was able to handle the bogus charges. They had been charging me even after cancelling the account, so she was able to make most of those charges go away, excpet for $12.96. Which was the remaining balance from when I closed the account. I told her that when I cancelled I was told I owed nothing and my bill was ZERO. She said that I had a bill of $12 for September 3rd when the account was cancelled. So some idiot on their end forgot to click a button for 2 weeks, and they wanted me to pay? No. I was in Seattle Aug17th, I wasn't about to pay for 2 weeks of 'service' that I didn't use and had cancelled. Then she kept saying "it's only $12 ma'am". If you're trying to take money from me for service I'm not getting, it's stealing. and no matter how little, it doesn't matter. With enough barking and complaining she was able to make that $12.96 go away.... but it is 2 hrs I'll never get back. /end rant read more
