Back in August 2023, I visited One Stop in their old location in that Port Jervis Plaza. I went to it, looking to buy a keyboard and I spoke to the owner. He showed off a mechanical keyboard from Logitech that he sold to me for $40. I went back home, plugged it in, and everything was great. Up until I reached the "7" key. It was hard as a rock and wouldn't budge. I tried to dislodge it, but it ended up breaking. The next day, I showed up and explained what happened. Since I literally bought the keyboard from him yesterday, he took it in to get fixed, told me it would take some time because he has to get in contact with Logitech. A month passes, and I don't mind. I'm patient. Two months pass and I'm slightly concerned. Three months pass and now Im starting to get a little annoyed. So I show up, tells me that he apologizes that Logitech hasn't yet contacted him back. I can forgive that. Four months pass, and now I start to have issues. I visit the shop, and suddenly there is never a time where I can speak to him. I show up in the mornings, I'm told by one of the associate workers that he's not there. So I show up in the afternoon, still not there. A few days later, I visit again around the afternoon, and he's still not there. I'm told he'll be here the following morning. I show up the following morning, he's not in. I can't wait around all day and night cause I have a job and life too. I left my phone number behind, multiple times. He never gives me a call. I call his number, he doesn't pick up. At this point, over six months have passed. We are in April of 2024. Only four months until an entire year passes where I paid for a keyboard and do not have it. The only reasons I am not giving this review a 1 star is because he did fix up my mother's laptop and I am grateful for that, and I do have hope that he will make things right one day. But this is ridiculous at this point and I am greatly disappointed.

I bought a 2015 Macbook Pro from him, when he told me he would order one in great condition from his trusted distributor. I paid Donald $600.00. The computer turned out to be a 2014. I returned it to Donald, and he said he would give me a refund, after he returned it to the distributor. For 9 months he has given me every story in the book. He would not return calls when he knew it was me. He's almost never at the store. When I would catch him at the store, he would tell me that he would take care of it, and to call him next week. I have always been a gentleman with him, and told him a number of times that if he is having money problems, that I can work with him. I said that I would take a used imac to settle it. He strung me along for months telling me he was waiting for a part for the invisible imac. This has been going on since April 2024.

Giovanni replaced it perfectly. Good as new. Of course it was expensive but a heckuvalot more affordable than a new laptop! I was worried I wouldn't find a competent technician for this kind of delicate sophisticated electronics out here in the sticks, so I'm thrilled that 2nd Life could do this job and do it well. I guess I thought I'd have to take my laptop to Westchester or NYC, which would be pretty time consuming. I want to add that the first screen he received failed while still in his shop. So he had to order and install a second one, and I don't think he charged me any different even though it had to have been ~double the labor time. Plus - he obviously checked his work. And, he apologized for the delay, even though he didn't cause it. I don't know about you but a lot of things nowadays, people take shortcuts or don't care about the quality of work or just fail to do the simplest little checks to assure a job is done right.
