BE CAREFUL! I went in to purchase a new phone and told the salesperson I just wanted a basic phone. I was told there was a $1200 Google phone with $1000 discount because my phone was so old (5 yrs+). ALL GOOD HERE........but, at first salesperson said Bill would go up $15/mo., then said "don't worry, your wife bought new phone recently, so you are OK". He did the install/switch of data between phones ($50).....fine with that! Then he said he needed to put "Liquid glass) on screen to protect it (NO MENTION I was being charged $60) and was OPTIONAL! Amazon has wipes for $23. Then the case ($30).......my wife had several.........same with CORD. Get home and wife is furious.......our Bill went up $50/mo!!!!!!! She called and got a great representative who got it backed to where it was. Part of the $50 was a $15/mo charge guy said would NOT BE A PROBLEM. Overall, it was probably still a decent deal, but I HATE be conned/lied/misled to! About $100 worth of charges I did not need and was NEVER told were optional. As My wife said "they saw a big sucker come in" (LOL)! Yeah, I am not technologically savy! I also bought my daughter an IPhone 16 pro as well. Came back two days later and upgraded to a new IPad. Last night I purchased a flip phone at a Verizon store close to my home. We didn't activate it because I was replacing my Mom's phone. I tried to activate it myself today while in Alexandria. Yeah didn't work out so off to Verizon we go. We walked in and Marc was amazing. He took amazing care to insure that my Mom's phone was properly activated. He was super nice and knowledgeable. My wife and I had an excellent experience over the weekend here. We actually chose this store because my wife had a positive experience previously. Kabir helped us and he was very personable, professional and knowledgeable. He was in the store by himself and was able to provide excellent service for us. He got us going on our issues and in between he also helped three other customers in the shop. During the same visit, I switched my service over to another phone and for some reason the internet was extremely slow (should have checked before I left). Jacob solved an issue with my IPhone after I was told IPhone 7 Plus had to be replaced! I first went to the Verizon wireless on Duke St. and was told to call Assurian since my phone was covered by insurance. Assurian then told me the phone is not covered and I would need to pay $249 to replace it. Verizon company store did not even try to solve the issue.. never even touched anything but his computer! One last shot & I went to Wireless Zone near my Fairlington condo. Jacob reloaded the network settings and presto my phone is working again!! I recommend anyone not to go to this store if you can help it. If you go, do not trust anything they say and always demand written and printed confirmation of everything they promise you. When I opened a new account with Verizon there in March, the salesperson named Jacob made all kinds of promises, including that Verizon would give me a credit of $300 for trade-in of my old phone. Turned out not true. The manager, Kabir, first repeated this promise and then claimed that there was no such promotion. Jacob also promised to give me a discount on the new phone I bought, but in fact it was charged to me later. Another broken promise. Before I signed up the new account, another salesperson claimed that another promotion would expire "tomorrow." Not true either. These dealers gets commission for every new account they sign, so they are incentivized to use whatever tactics they can get away with. One of the tactics is to have you sign contracts on a tablet rather than a piece of paper, so that you don't get to read the entire contract in detail. Do NOT sign anything on their tablets. Demand a printed contract to read and sign. They are completely untrustworthy. read more

WARNING DO NOT EVER go to this store! The store manager Gary or Garret, is the worst! He made me feel extremely unsafe. We came into the store early today to pick up a new iPhone for my mom. The store was way over capacity COVID breeding ground, and the store manager Gary or Garret was extremely rude! We decided to leave and come back because we had an appointment. We can back, and they were a girl working instead of the store manager. I told her I was glad she was here because the other guy was so rude! After a while, I was sitting quietly watching when he came out to confront me; he again was rude, telling me that he was not rude and he doesn't know why I would say that. I said, you were, and you are now his body language was very aggressive, and his eyes were scary! He left, then came and confronted me again, telling me I'm wrong; then he went to my disabled mother and confronted her! I got upset and asked him to leave us alone, and he wouldn't. I could not believe a store manager would speak to us this way! I felt afraid that he would attack me, so I called the Alexandria police. He kicked me out of the store for asking him to leave us alone and be respectful to a customer! Horrible scary experience to have during these crazy times! I am still afraid because he has access to all my information, I will never go back to this store after being treated so poorly! OMG I had the absolute worst experience at this store. If you are purchasing a new phone and/or upgrading go somewhere else. I have had nothing but problems since buying the IPhone 11 from them, my plan didn't transfer over properly; my contacts are doubled in my phone, my discount didn't apply and the employee was very misleading about various phone options. Apparently I was working with a "newer" and overly confident employee and the manager overhearing everything never stepped in to help him or to make sure things were done properly. I purchased my phone at this store from previous ownership, everything went well. I purchased with the phone a very expensive black ice plus screen guard. They told me if I ran into any problems with it, come back here and we will replace it for you. Needless to say I did and they didn't. New company and they said the previous company did not tell me how to replace the black ice plus correctly. However, they decided to honor a replacement and then did not replace it with the same screen guard. ie warranty on the one - no warranty on the new one. Bait and switch. I wonder if that is the whole game about the new company. all bait and switch. On top of all of these games, I walked out with a receipt that had a wrong phone number on it. How does that work. I had purchased a cell phone and decided I wanted to trade to the brand I usually use which is more expensive which makes this saga even more illogical.I had been assured that there wouldn't be a problem in returning the phone. I attempted to return it 4 days later, which turned into a 6 hour nightmare( the day before Thanksgiving)in which I felt I was bullied by the store manager, Jacob Brock. I had the box for the phone but didn't have the receipt. I assumed that he could simply look it up on line as most stores do. He told me that he couldn't access the receipt because it had an order number that he had to have. He then sneered that the phone had to be in good condition which was so unnecessary. I went outdoors and called a Verizon Rep who easily helped me locate the receipt online. When I showed him the receipt on my phone,Jacob's response was you called Verizon fairly loudly as if I had crossed him and wouldn't accept the receipt. I went home and found the receipt, and pointed out it was the same number as that on line, which he denied. He then told me I couldn't return the accessories without boxes, I hadn't asked for a refund for them. I just wanted to return the phone and get out.When I bought the phone they put on the protective screen and cover and threw the boxes out, and he knew that. I finally got the refund and he had the nerve to try to sell me a phone. I didn't have my old phone because I had given it to the store for charity. Besides Mr. Brock's antagonistic manner, he doesn't contribute to the Verizon image attired in a dirty sweat shirt and unshaven. I had to race to another Verizon store 8 pm on Thanksgiving eve where they corrected his mistakes, he hadn't released me from the previous contract. I am sorry I ever walked in here. I was sold, falsely, on a plan that I was told was cheaper and would be better for me. Two weeks later, I found that I owed more on my account and my bill pay was turned off (not accounting for the extra "upgrade cost" Verizon charges when you buy a new phone. Also, despite telling the employee I did not want a device protection plan, he chose to leave it on my account for two devices, something I didn't catch until today. Not sure if I would go there again if I need to get things done, I was told my phone will not work on Verizon network and they charge $20 for SIM a new card that you can get for FREE at any Verizon corporate stores, what's sad is they didn't explain it that way, they mislead me by saying you can only get free SIM if you order it online but you will have to pay in store, matter of fact online charges for shipping and the only way to get the SIM for free is by going to a Verizon corporate sales store, don't know why they gave me the wrong information. I just left about an hour ago(9/10/19), I ordered a phone online and had it sent here because it was the closest to my home. When I got there the gentleman informed me that I had to activate the phone there as opposed to just picking it up. The phone was for another user on my account and not in the local area. He told me I had to call and cancel the order. However I called another store and they told me they would have the ability for me to simply pick up a phone I already paid for. The worst experience with Gary. Poor customer service and he did nothing of what was promised. We were offered a "free" hum device, no activation fees, and an upgrade to a larger plan with a price decrease. We were also told we couldn't use our device dollars towards the new phone we purchased. After all of the "discounts", he claimed to have given us, the bill went from $130 to $280. Luckily I read each confirmation email and noticed something wasn't right. I called Verizon and was informed everything Gary promised was a lie. David helped to correct this mess and told us what the next steps are. Gary never changed the plan, the hum device (which was never explained to us or installed) ended up being another line with a 2-year contract and $40/month with activation fees. Now we have to go back to the store to return this device and have the line removed from the account. I have contacted the store numerous times in hopes of speaking to a manager but no one will answer. STAY away from this store!!!!! read more

Please go to an actual Verizon store and not an authorized dealer. I felt like they were very dishonest to get me to buy a phone. I'm usually a smart consumer, but the salesman were very friendly and I kind of let my guard down. I asked about all the added fees beforehand, and in addition to what they told me about, charged me $20 for phone set up I could have done it myself), and also automatically added an extra $30 to the insurance plan for some moisture reducer if you phone gets wet (also not disclosed until I was charged). I also asked when I would be charged for my bill, and was told it was at the end of each month (even though it's the beginning, which really only affect the first billing cycle, but still). The regional manager was very accommodating and friendly when I went in to complain about my original service, so I do give credit to him. He's the reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1. That being said, it's just a MUCH better idea to skip the authorized dealer and go straight to a corporate Verizon store. read more
