Review for Verizon Store - Extremely Disrespectful Customer Service I had one of the worst customer service with one of the agents AMBER (not sure if that's her name, short, black and straight hair, with a piercing in her nose) experiences at this Verizon store. The staff was not only unhelpful but also incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of assisting with my issue, they acted as if I was inconveniencing them. They barely listened to my concerns and gave short, condescending responses. I left feeling frustrated and unheard. She was very patient with me and my mother, answering all of our questions with the customer service that I would not have after 2 hours. Incredible with how old the reviews are and this place is still standing.. They tried to rip me off today arguing with me that it would cost me 20-30 dollars for a SIM card. Yes, you heard me, a SIM card. They're free for VERIZON customers. They also tried to stiff arm me with the insurance for an iPad that I already expressed had AppleCare. Continue to avoid this place. Save yourself some hassle and go to a corporate store. They will charge 30$ for SIM card and 40$ for activation fee then Verizon also charges an activation fee. The agent made it seem like it was Verizon's fee. There was no discussion of fees before we started. They also did me the service of signing me up for device protection that I did not request without asking me about it. read more

I have been to this store many times. This is not the first time buying a phone from here. They were very helpful and patient with me and my questions to include a return visit the following day just because. I'd definitely recommend it when you need to upgrade or sign up. Avoid this location like the plague! They directly lied to my face twice about what services would cost. The balding white man said he would throw in a mifi jet pack and pretended that it was only a dollar and that if I ever wanted to use it as a hotspot for my iPad I could. Later, I found out this actually added a line to my account and was a $40 fee followed by indefinite monthly fees. This was no where in the invoice when I signed on and he made no mention of this and led me to believe it was just a $1 thing he was throwing in. I never used it (still in the box). When I found out what really happened I went to take it back and the manager, Jeff, said it was too late to return but that they had to set the plan up like that so I could save $40 a month, so I was still "up." Another direct lie, the two things had nothing to do with each other. I found this out through much painful research and phone calls. I would say ask them tons of questions about what things REALLY cost, but they will directly lie to your face so I'm not sure it will help. Finally, I am getting the charge revoked through much scraping with Verizon. What a head ache. I wonder if they know good salesmen don't have to lie. Edit: Dealing with the phone representatives only led to more lying and shuffling of responsibility. I asked the manager about a particular phone charger and his answer was misleading, but I bought it based on his answer. Whether he provided misinformation or it was simply a miscommunication, I ended up with something I didn't want. After going home and realizing that, I called up and explained to him what had happened and asked him to make an exception and allow me to return the product without the packaging, which had already been recycled. He was not only unsympathetic, but he was unapologetic and persistent about explaining how it was my fault. It was completely unprofessional, unpleasant, and exasperating. read more

This is NOT an official Verizon Store. It's a "ComServe" store that puts Verizon in big ole letters on top. I should've known when they didnt have an iPhone model on the display floor or really know anything about Verizon. They literally charge an arbitrary fee just for buying a phone here... keep in mind I was told this was a mandatory fee AFTER they had already ported my number. For the iPhone 7 Plus it was $250 (why), unavoidable apparently. Literally no rationale for it. They then said they were going to add a bunch of accessories with it to make the 250 more palpable but when I got my receipt it sure does seem like I got charged for the accessories anyways (no arbitrary fee listed) which just so happened to add up to $250. It was essentially a scam in order to get me to walk out the door with $250 in accessories. I went back in to try and sort it out to no avail... they said they wouldn't accept returns any of the unopened accessories and would charge a $75 restocking fee on the FREE tablet. They also went ahead and opened up a Verizon unlimited data line on the tablet without my permission. I had no idea they did it. You should trust the other reviews here. I totally feel scammed. I have gone to this location several times out of convenience. Never again. I needed a sim card switched and they wanted to charge me $40 activation. I left and went to the store on Hampton closer to Norfolk Base (across from starbucks). They did it for me for free and helped me package up the old phone to mail back. read more

I've worked in customer support jobs most of my adult life and this is the worst example of how to support a customer. The balding white guy and the manager are unprofessional and lie about actual costs for devices and cell plans. They will tell you whatever they can to get your money and when you try to fix the issue, they will attempt to redirect you as much as they can. Avoid this place! This review is for the ComServe Verizon Wireless Retailer on Colley Avenue in Norfolk VA . I give this location - the employee named Justin and the manager/owner, Jeffrey Bond - a flat out zero for the poorest customer service I have ever received and for also deceiving me into buying a new phone when all I needed was a new battery. On February 5, 2018, I visited this location because one of our phones kept cutting off. I told Justin, (an employee at ComServe) that I thought I needed a new battery. Justin said that Verizon no longer services the phone in question (LG flip phone) and that they no longer have batteries for that phone....and even if they did it would cost about $60 for a battery so I might as well buy a new phone. After I bought the only flip phone they had in stock, I went home and still felt that all I needed was a new battery. I did some research on the internet to try to find a battery and Amazon had them for $5! Furthermore, I saw that the phone I bought was $100 less expensive on Amazon (brand new). I ordered a new battery to be sure that was indeed the problem with the phone. Sure enough, that was the problem. I had thrown the cell phone box in the trash can so I retrieved it. The box had gotten ruined by trash, but I felt that the company may need the numbers on the barcode that were still visible on the box. I went to ComServe and spoke to Justin since he was the person that sold me the phone. He refused to give me a refund. He said that he could not give me a refund because the "box" was not in new condition! I said, "But you deliberately duped me into buying it!" and repeated what transpired that day. I then went to Verizon Wireless on Military Highway (a genuine Verizon store) and the rep said that they should take the phone back within 14 days, and he activated our LG flip phone with the new battery that I put in it, and the phone worked!! That is all that was wrong with it. I chatted with Verizon online on a number of occasions and told them the story. Verizon apologized for ComServe and offered $100 credit to my account. I declined at that time because I felt that ComServe should be the one to refund any monies. Next, I went to see the manager of ComServe today (Feb 13, 20189). His name is Jeffrey Bond. He also said that he could not accept a return without a "new" box. He never apologized nor asked why I was angry or why I wanted to return the phone. He simply put a halt to the return immediately, so I threw in that his sales rep had duped me and all I needed was a battery. I asked him to print me a receipt and he asked, "Don't you have one?" He said one should have been emailed to me. I said I did not get an email and to just email it to me or print one. He kept giving excuses that he could not print a receipt one had already been printed and could not email one if one had already been emailed. I asked him for my transaction number and he said he could not give it to me. I asked him for the name of the sales rep that sold me the phone. He said, "What did he look like?" I pointed to the desk that the rep sat in and said, "The cute one." He sarcastically laughed and said, "I cannot go by "cute."" I said, "Well, you know who it is because you were sitting right here when I was speaking to him and buying the phone!" He finally said, "Justin". I took an available pen off of his desk and wrote both of their names on a business card that was also on the desk for customers. He sarcastically said, "So now you are going to use my pen!" I looked at him bewildered and disgusted and exclaimed, "Well, isn't that what the pens are for...for your customers to use?!" I then asked, "Didn't someone call you from Verizon and warn you that trouble was on the way? I am going to the Commonwealth Attorney and also will speak to Verizon Corporate again!" His mouth dropped. He had his chance to do the right thing and chose not to. He was using power plays with me and avoiding any opportunity to be kind, helpful, or courteous. He was belligerent and rude in front of his employee (a female) and kept smiling and looking at her anytime he would stonewall me. He should not be in management. He failed to even try to listen to my story in a considerate and respectful way. Instead, he cut me off at every opportunity and was evasive and did not want to give me any assistance whatsoever. He never apologized, of course. Followup: ComServe management in higher positions (local, regional and corporate) all contacted me & apologized. They were very considerate in listening to my issues and seeking to understand the situation. I got a full refund for the phone, & they all assured me that the behavior and treatment that I received is not what ComServe is about & the store manager will be "dealt with" based on the complaints from me & others. The manager sold a product without disclosing all information. He took full advantage of me and then would not take the product back. He was dishonest and would not take responsibility for what he knew he sold me. I will never go back to this store again and it has been reported to corporate. read more

Stay far from Verizon. Their wireless routers have about a fifty foot range and constantly lose signal. They will of course offer you a real router for $20 more. Never try to change a package; while they tell you you have a week to restore the old package, they lie. They will offer you fewer services at a higher price. Every time you call an agent you will get a different story - assuming they speak even English - and they will never confirm in writing. read more

I have been a Verizon wireless customer for 15 years. I went to this "AUTHORIZED DEALER-Cellular Connection" store last week to turn on two Verizon jet pack devices I already owned. Jeff, the salesman at this store, is a professional, smooth SWINDLER. First he told me that my Jet Packs each needed a new $20 sim card. It's been over a year since I used them so I believed him. He then let me know that I was eligible for a $1 iPhone 6, and that he had one more "Free Tablet" available. I wasn't there to acquire any new devices so I hesitated. He assured me that there were no fees to activate, etc. I assumed that the iPhone upgrade would extended my contract another 24 months, which was fine since I have been longtime customer with no plans to switch. And he told me the tablet would carry a $10 per month add-on device fee, as would my two Jet Packs, which I could TURN OFF ANY TIME if we were not using any of those 3 devices. He had me sign a paper with one paragraph of standard sounding language. But then he printed out an 8 page receipt that looked like a serious legal document. He also asked me to sign an invisible pad with no paper work in front of me. I asked what I was signing and he said it was just that I understood that if I returned either of the two new devices within 14 days, there would be a $35 restock fee. And then he insisted: "It's just standard language--why would anyone return something that is free?" The bag full of papers and devices gave me a bad feeling immediately. Leaving the store, I saw the signage out front advertising "Free Tablet" and instantly suspected that he had not offered me his "LAST ONE." I returned to home to check our online Verizon statement. Sure enough, there were hundreds of dollars in new charges, activation fees, and new two-year contracts for the Tablet and the 2 Jet Pack Devices I ALREADY OWNED that I was only having turned on temporarily. I went back to the store. Jeff was defensive and threatening acting. He's a HUGE dude. He said he had no idea why corporate Verizon turned on all those charges. He got on the phone with someone about dropping the contracts on the JetPacks. He told me it would be $75 to restock the tablet and $35 for the phone--I hadn't taken either out of the box! After much argument, he acted like he was being really generous by accepting the tablet back without charging the fee. I decided to keep the phone since he assured me there was only the extended contract with that--no new fees. I went home to check the Verizon account again, and saw that sure enough, he had not removed all those charges and that he had added a extra $20 a month new device fee to the iPhone 6, over and above the $20 I was already paying for my current iPhone, effectively making my "free phone" a financed $480. This time I called corporate. After 45 minutes, the representative removed all the extra charges but told me I had to return the phone to the store. I said I was intimated by Jeff and so the representative told me to go to the Corporate Store on Military Highway. I went there, waited 25 minutes in line, then was told No, I had to return phone to Colley Ave store because I purchased from authorized dealer, not Corporate store. UGH. Finally, I returned the Colley Store for the 3rd time. I met a woman outside the store who was on the phone with corporate Verizon upset that essentially the same thing had just happened to her. He was charging her a restock fee on a "FREE" phone she had purchased without knowing it would carry a bunch of hidden fees. When I opened the door, Jeff threateningly yelled at one or both of us to "Not talk to his customers." I returned the phone, paid the $35 restock fee, and left without engaging him. This guy is a professional con artist and will out talk even a trained lawyer. As I was waiting, another male customer came in who had just purchased something that wasn't working. I could tell he had probably been swindled, too. So here I am, 4 hours of hassles later, having paid $40 for sim cards I didn't need and a $35 restock fee. read more

I walked in asking them two just to switch my phone number over, he said it would cost me $20. So I asked him if I could have the phone number to call and switch it myself for free. He was very rude and said " Its in the box that came with you're phone." while keep in mind not even looking up at me. I explained to him the phone was my friends old one I was using since mine broke. He then looked at me with annoyed look and continued to say I needed to pay $25. At first he wouldn't give me the phone number to call, but after I said I would call Verizon myself and ask, he then gave it to me and rolled his eyes. After calling the number, the people on the phone were really nice and switched it over for FREE. I said thank you for letting me use their phone and for the number ( I used the store phone to call ) and they raised his eyebrows wouldn't look at me and didn't say a word while he looked at his screen. You're better off driving the distance to VA beach. This place isn't worth the time, they are just so rude to you if you're just looking for help and not buying a phone or anything. read more
