They explained all of my options and costs thoroughly. The process was painless, educational and honestly pretty fun! Horrible, dishonest, disingenuous, this is a terrible store. I went in to upgrade my iphone, and that part went fine, but then they said "good news! with this package you get a free Mifi device" - it costs $50 but I'd get a rebate in a few months so it would be like free. All good - until about a month later, when I get the first bill - turns out, there's a $40 "set up/initiation" fee for Mifi, and then a recurring, monthly fee of $10 for service plus $9 for insurance, so total cost for 24month contract turns out to be not free but $496. And if you want to terminate? $175! Even worse than getting ripped off was that happened the multiple times I tried to go in to the store to address it - each time, someone would listen sympathetically, take notes, and say the manager would get "right back" to me. One time I did speak to the manager, I think who was trying to multitask, so he said "I'll take care of you, don't worry" - and then took all sorts of pictures of the Mifi I wanted to return and the bill I had brought in, and then.... crickets. Crummy behavior on many days, both in person and on the phone (not rude - very polite but doing absolutely nothing but jerking me around). Ultimately, I got so fed up I paid the $175 cancellation fee and so i'm official out, but i will never, ever, ever do business with this store and these people again, and would encourage anyone contemplating a purchase to look elsewhere. I had a terrible experience with the manager of that store - Celestina. If I could give her a minus 1 star, I would. That lady is awful, rude, the most unprofessional I have EVER met. It is hard to even believe what she said to me and my 13 yo daughter while trying to FRAUD us for extra charges. More over, she was badmouthing one of her best associates who helped us a few days before. I am OUTRAGED! People like her should never be allowed to work with people, much less be MANAGERS! From the moment I walked into the store to create a Verizon account, this store has given me nothing but the worst customer service I've ever had. I called ahead to the store about mid October asking about how Verizon handles the iPhone X preorders and if I were to switch to Verizon, how I would go about doing so. I was told by the manager Wilmer, that if I came into the store and created an account, he would preorder my phone on the 27 when the preorders went live and give me a call when it was done. I come into the store and create the account on the 25th, with no issues and I'm reassured that Wilmer will contact me on the 27th to preorder the phone. I wait patiently on the 27th and received no phone calls regarding my preorder. I proceed to call the store the next day asking if Wilmer is in and if my phone was preordered. To my surprise, my phone was not preordered. I was told that the store would call me the next day to have my phone preordered. The next day goes by, I don't receive a phone call once again. A couple of days later, I physically go into the store to have my phone ordered, only to find out that my phone will not even be shipped until December 1st. If I would have known that the promise made by the manager was not kept, I would have preordered the phone myself, through Apple or Verizon's customer care line, but because of the incompetence of the entire staff, I missed out on receiving my phone on November 3rd. A couple more days go by, and I call Verizon's customer care line to have my order cancelled because I no longer want to give my business to this 3rd party retailer. After an hour on the phone, I have a third of my money refunded, and have to return to the store to receive the other 2/3rds of my refund. I go into the store the next day only to be told my money would not be refunded until the 1st week of the next month and in the form of a check. The employees asked how I had my order refunded and proceed to make a snide remark about "We are always nice to them, yet they always call the customer care line" and then start having a side conversation about a hydro flask and how long their coffee can stay hot. Not only am I pretty upset at this point, but they seem to have no regard for me as I am standing there trying to have my money refunded. They then tell me to come back when the manager is in and that they'd give me a call. So like the previous part of this review, I once again receive no phone call. I physically come back to the store about 4 hours later and luckily the manager, Wilmer, was in. He was able to refund the money directly to my credit card, thankfully. But after the past two weeks of wasted time, I no longer want to be a Verizon customer due to the rude and incompetent actions of the staff of this store. Please save yourself the headache and go to the Verizon franchise in San Mateo. read more

Should've known that this was going to be a good experience when I was able to find parking in front of the store on a busy Saturday afternoon. I'm constantly on the go and have very little time to slow down even on my weekends. I went in wanting to pick up my iPhone 4 and be gone in the blink of an eye. I didn't get my "in the blink of an eye" request but I was out within 20 minutes. Zyres was professional, friendly and went way beyond the call of duty. Not only did I get my new iPhone 4 but I was able to get couple new accessories and upgrade my MiFi to 4G, she even placed the rebate in an addressed envelope for me. This was an exceptional visit, which makes it hard for me to go to another Verizon store because as much as you'd like to have it, extraordinary service isn't something that is given every where. I was very dissatisfied at the Burlingame Verizon store. I was lied to about my iPhone 10 and sold an 11. They told me my 10 was paid off and the 11 would be the only payment. My wife and I had to switch from AT&T to Verizon due to poor coverage on our street. We purchased phones from the Burlingame Ave store and were told our numbers would port overnight. We also were quoted one price and then were hit with over $250 in one time costs that were not disclosed when we were shopping for the phones. The staff was incompetent when questions were asked and did not complete our port correctly. Thankfully Verizon customer service reps through their 800 line were helpful, empathetic to our experience, and capable of getting us transitioned to Verizon correctly. Bottom line call Verizon directly for all help. The store personnel are untrained and uninformed but happy to tell you what you want to hear to get a sale. read more

Went to the Verizon store today after I had a cracked screen. I am currently paying $13 a month for an insurance policy so didn't think much of it. At the store the Verizon Technician told me to call Assurion which is the insurance company - and he indicated that they would handle the repair locally. I called up Assurion and they said I only had two options 1) mail my phone to be repaired for $29 - and not have a phone for 4 days 2) pay $199 and get a phone delivered the next day. It is unbelievable that Assurian has no local stores to perform a repair. Key take aways 1) don't get the insurance policy 2) the store technicians are not fully trained read more

Worst wireless buying experience in my life. Given the service of most wireless stores, this is a dubious honor: - Sales Rep assessed a fee that was not mentioned during the buying process. Required 20 minutes to get these fees refunded (despite being told several times that this was not possible) - Phone prices were higher than Verizon online - Was asked to sign a statement acknowledging policies (e.g., restocking fee) without being shown these policies - Rep failed to clearly communicate pricing options. - Sales Rep. was not aware (or simply feigned ignorance) of Verizon discounts - Several accessories had no prices on wall. Accessories priced 2x price on Amazon. Next time I will simply deal with Verizon online, where everything is clearly spelled out and the Reps are more experienced. read more

He told me if I needed anything to let him know and told me all the deals Verizon had. I was on T-mobile and I always had dodgey signal in some locations (especially at home) and internet would lag a lot in most places. I never realized how affordable Verizon was until Rolando helped me and made the process of getting my family and I onto the network. If you go to the store ask for Rolando. After researching Verizon phone prices (iPhone XR,) this store invoiced my daughter (who was in the area visiting her sister at the time) for the full retail amount of a phone purchase (plus their own 'grab and go' fees) instead of price matching Verizon online as they say they do. When I called them to get this straightened out, they said that I would have to go to a local Victra store (in my area) and they could reprocess the order. Two local stores said that they were lying and the originating store could (and should have) reprocessed the order for me. My other daughter (who lives in the area) drove back to the store, and the store 'once again' lied. This time, an agent and manager said they could reprocess the order and would work with corporate within 2 days to get it done and then close the loop with me/us. It has been 6 days now with no word. My biggest complaint is that they are taking advantage of the customer through deceit. Be cautious when working with Victra and this store. The only good outcome for this is that they (Victra) reprocess​ the order (CA072IN21703) with a phone price of $649 instead of $810. read more

I used to have Sprint and i never had such a financial crisis just because of a phone!! I canceled it and I never felt so useless without a phone for work and to keep in contact with my kid at school. It's sad that I depend on a phone but I was used to it. Probably the worst Verizon store experience I've ever had. I was lied to the whole process while getting my new phone. It all started with me calling ahead of time the day before the iPhone released to confirm if they had the iphone 7 plus I wanted, the lady said "I can't tell you how many we have sorry" so I said "but you DO have some 7 pluses right?" She said yes. So I show up the next day at opening hour expecting to get my phone only to be told they don't have it. It was upsetting but I was half expecting there to be no 7 pluses as that was a known thing but the lady lied and told me they did have some and she got my hopes up. So I do the next best thing and order it online to have it shipped to the store. So from this point on I checked my Verizon portal here and there to check on the order status and after a month it finally said it had arrived to the store. I call the store to ask them if it's there they said yes but it's not ready to be picked up yet we will call you when it is. 15 minutes later they call me and say it's ready, I'm working so I ask them if it's ok If I can't go until 5:30, they says yes. Again I show up to the store expecting to get my phone only to find out it's not actually ready and I can't purchase my phone even though they called me and told me I could. The guy reassures me over and over again that it will be ready the next day, guaranteed it. The phone wasn't in the system so they couldn't sell it to me they had to wait until it was uploaded into the system for them to be able to sell me the phone. I was upset as I would have to come to Burlingame from San Francisco because these guys could not sell me my phone that day. But I said ok, there was nothing else I could do at that point. So I call them the next day in the afternoon, I was in the area so i was checking to see if it was ready. The guy says no we still need a couple more hours but it will be ready today for sure. He calls me back about an hour later only to tell me "actually your phone will not be ready until Monday late afternoon, the place that handles uploading the phone into the system is closed on weekends" So again another delay. At this point I'm tired of getting lied to so I call other Verizon stores in hopes that they have my phone and luckily I find one that does! So then I buy the phone from this other Verizon store and cancel my order from these guys. They lied to me about having my phone in store, they lied to me about it being ready to be picked up, and they lied to me multiple times as to when it would be ready. Now I know I might sound like a diva who didn't get their phone when they wanted it. But that wasn't the issue, the issue was the terrible customer service, the constant lies they told me over and over again that was upsetting. If they would have just been upfront with me from the very beginning that would have been fine but these guys wasted my time by lying out of their asses. I bought the phone from somewhere else because I'd rather give my money to someone else then to these guys. In the end I learned my lesson, NEVER go to a Verizon store unless it's a corporate store location. So do yourselves a favor and DO NOT go this store. These guys are incompetent and will lie to keep you content only to make things worse when the truth comes out. read more

I have been to many Verizon stores/ retailers on the peninsula and this location by far has been the best experience I have ever had. Wilmer was not only knowledgable but very informative on the products sold in store. He was very patient with all the questions that I had and I genuinely felt he educated me on what was the best option for me to take. He went above and beyond to make sure all of my needs and concerns were taken care of. BUYER BEWARE- Check the Better Business Bureau for complaints- they have a TON!!! WE'RE MAKING ONE SOON, AND SO ARE OTHERS WE HAVE MET AT THE STORE. This is NOT a corporate Verizon store, it's a franchise and it's crooked. I work on Burlingame Avenue, and we went in to alter our plan. We were quoted one price by an incredibly rude employee named Martha Zaid only to discover that she was LYING to us about costs. When we got our bill and noticed the new charges were not at all what we spoke about we went back to the store to clear up the problem. Martha told us, "sorry, there's nothing I can do". This didn't sound right, so we called Verizon corporate who told us that yes, indeed, they could reverse the charges, and they were confused to why the store employee would say something that is against Verizon policy. When we told Martha this, she was incredibly rude once again and looked us directly in the eye and said, "sorry, there's nothing I can do". I can't tell you how up-side-down the customer service is here. They are motivated by one thing: They will try to increase your plan size and contract length because they get a royalty for the length of the contract. So, THEY WILL LIE, CHEAT AND STEAL FROM YOU JUST TO GET YOU ON A LONGER PLAN. THE OWNER OF THIS STORE HAS NO ETHICS!!! If the owner happens to be reading this, you can count on us informing not only all of the other merchants on the Avenue about your policies, but every single customer we have will be educated on what kind of store you have. Ripping people off in your own community will have disastrous effects on your business. Employing and training people to act like Martha and who treat your customers like garbage will get you nowhere. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT COME HERE! This is place is a horror story! Worst Customer Experience EVER! Bottom Line: Give your business to another store! I came here to pick up an iPhone 6 on October 12, 2014. They didn't have it, so they ordered it for me and promised a delivery date of October 24, 2014. It's now November 3, 2014 and I still haven't recieved my phone and/or status update. After not recieving a status update on October 24, I followed up with the sales rep Jerome and/or other incompentent reps. I was always told "i'll call you back in 20 mins" and never did I recieve a phone call. This happened atleast 4 times when I called. This place does NOT keep their promise dates on delivery, they don't even bother to keep the customers informed. Almost a month later, no follow up calls and the sales reps don't know where my new phone is? Everyone I know who ordered an iPhone 6 or 6 plus already has theirs. Their work ethic here is certainly "just working for my paycheck," they give a rats ass about their customers. read more

Very bad experience. Michaell (Miguel?), the sub-manager of the store gave us the impression he was providing us with a deal. Later I found out that that was not the case. I canceled the contract within the proper window and was told to wait until his first quarter is over. Okay, I waited and then the contract was still not canceled. I had to first call the store, talk to the manager and have it canceled. Then I had to call Verizon to end the new line that was established. Now on my credit card bill I see that the store reimbursed me for $ 109 less than what I paid them. Am now trying to resolve the difference and get my remaining money back. I originally wasn't going to write a review but I had such a horrible experience that I had to warn other people. I came in hoping to get an iPhone 8 Plus unlimited plan adding to an existing account. He asked me what phone case I wanted with my iPhone and I asked him how much it cost he refused to give me the cost of the product and on top lied to me said it was included with the purchase of phone. He then manages to charge me for a screen protector that I never wanted and a charge bank. As I was getting ready to pay the total came out to more than 250 , I was wondering why it was so much, he says he will email me my receipt in which I wait and never got a copy of my receipt no physical copy or electronic. I come into the store upset and I tell the manager my experience and that I wanted to return whatever he charged me not knowing how much everything cost. I also ask for a receipt. As he was refunding me for items I ask him how much they charged me for each item and that Josh had lied to me items aren't included. It seems that this has happened to quite a few people ,I get home and I notice I still didn't get a copy of my receipt but just a refund invoice. At that point I'm just not wanting to even deal with this establishment. Turns out Josh charged me for a single line membership when I was adding onto a family members plan and charged me a setup and go fee when he clearly didn't do shit. I recommend other people avoid this place and go to an actual Verizon store. Would give it no stars if I could read more

This is NOT a real Verizon store. Its a 3rd party retail store disguised as a Verizon store. They neither offer nor can provide same promotions and discounts which customers can get from a proper Verizon store. Every time I have made the mistake of walking into this store to inquire about device purchase/upgrade or adding a line or any other similar question I got completely wrong and misleading info. For any Verizon related matters, its much much better to go to a real Verizon store. The nearest one is in San Mate/Foster City area. read more

Don't be fooled, this is not a corporate Verizon store. I think it used to be, but no longer. I previously had very good service at this store, but when I most recently visited to upgrade to the iPhone 5, the service was poor. It took forever to get the two phones activated. They didn't seem to know how to activate the phones. In addition, they kept pushing more expensive options on me that I clearly didn't need or want. I would not go back. I just bought an iPad from the corporate Verizon store at Bridgepointe Parkway in San Mateo. I highly recommend that store. The person who helped us was very knowledgable and didn't try to sell us into services we didn't want. Even though I only live blocks from the Burlingame Avenue store it was well worth the drive to San Mateo. read more
