I had an excellent experience at the Apple Store in Burlingame, thanks to Ayman and Ronnie. I couldn't figure out why my child couldn't receive Apple Cash payments from my phone. I decided to visit the store and get help. Ayman and Ronnie quickly identified and resolved a rather complex issue: a myriad of the parental settings and payment options across 3 different devices (my phone, and child's iWatch and iPhone.) Both were incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and friendly throughout the process. Their expertise and customer service were top-notch. I highly recommend this Apple Store and especially Ayman and Ronnie for their exceptional support. read more

UPDATE: I escalated the incident to a senior advisor in corporate apple support, and after explaining the issue to him, he was able to get me a replacement phone. He agreed that the claim of liquid damage based on a visual photo of a part was subjective, and no liquid contact indicator had been triggered. After about 12 hours of my family time wasted over Easter weekend and spilling into the following week, I was finally able to get this resolved. But it shouldn't have had to come down to all this. Raphael / Rafael and the technician who "repaired" (more like damaged) my phone should be terminated for incompetence and lack of integrity. At the very least learn to communicate better and recognize when the cookie cutter script from the company training manual just isn't working for the situation. I went into this service appointment thinking about signing up for the Apple credit card since I manage apple device purchases for my family and extended family (a dozen folks and multiple devices per), and I came out of it thinking I might finally pull us all completely out of the Apple ecosystem. read more

I've always been a fan of Apple products, but I definitely didn't have a good experience during my last visit to this location. I went in to return an accessory, and the employee I worked with kept questioning me about why I wanted to return it and honestly tried to make me feel bad for not wanting the item. It was so awkward to say the least. The accessory wasn't even pricey, but he made it seem like I was trying to return a used iPhone lol. I usually expect service here to be speedy and professional, but this interaction felt really unnecessary. I hate to be that guy, but I'm going to have to be. I spoke to nearly the entire staff today one by one. Each told me something different. I was early for my genius appt. I understand they are busy, but one lady said at 5pm oh we can check you in early in about 5 mins. Well she was busy after that 5 mins so I went to someone else. He said check in around 5:30pm. Then one guy said check in at 6pm. Then I THOUGHT I had checked in with one guy who told me to just sit and wait. I sat til my appt time watching as people were being helped all around me. Then it was after my apt time so I went to verify with one Asian dude with a grey wave hair. Just completely ignored me. Then checked with someone else to verify I was checked in and he said no you're not checked in. Unreal. I had been there for nearly 2 hours at that point. Then 40 mins later I was finally helped. Smooth transaction. Placed order when we were at lunch, and I was given an estimated time for pickup. Order was ready before ETA, and everything was communicated efficiently via text/email. At pickup, there was minor hiccups and a lot of sales talk trying to get us to buy more stuff. Didn't seem to genuine, just wanting to get extra sales. Had an appointment for 10:05am and wasn't seen until 10:40am. After that wait, and knowing that I had made an appointment for a defective camera on my iPhone, they told me I had to drive to Hillsdale because they didn't have the parts needed. My iPhone is brand new and under warranty so they should have just replaced it but refused to do so. What should have been a simple swap for a phone turned into an entire day ordeal of me driving all over the peninsula. I received a new iPhone 17 Pro at Apple Palo Alto at Univercity Avenue, spent there over 2 hours to set it up and left the store with phone still not working. 8 different people supposed to work on my phone, leaving me waiting and promising that the next guy will finish the job.Terrible management of the store! My son's iphone had a severely damaged screen. I have TMobile 360 coverage, but since it's under Apple Care, I had to go to Apple for repair. I set an appointment for Best Buy through the Apple website. Best Buy didn't have the parts, so they sent me to the Apple Store. My experience at the Apple Store was smooth. All the employees were super nice and helpful. They took me in as "walk in" and repair took around 90 minutes as promised. There's easy parking in a lot and on the street. Sometimes gets busy, so you might need to circle a little. Next time, I'm going the Apple Store first, if the phone within the first 2 years and it's still covered under Apple Care. No need to go the the carrier for insurance repair. read more

The worst customer service experience I've ever had at an Apple Store, which isn't that high of a bar to begin with. All associates do is just sit around and talk amongst themselves while customers standing around waiting to be helped. All repairs take twice as long as originally quoted so be sure to free an entire half day if you need anything repaired. Just terrible. read more

I went in for help with a backup drive issue. I had to leave for five minutes to feed the meter, as parking is a nightmare in Burlingame. Apple staff assured me they would keep an eye on the computer as it was running a check that would take some time and had to remain hardwired in. I came back and my brand-new cable and power brick were both gone, although at least the computer was still there. No one knew where it went, and initially they were not helpful at all. Either someone stole it, or it ended up mixed in with other Apple hardware they use for testing. After I made about ten phone calls to Apple HQ, the store did eventually replace the items, which I appreciate, but I had to be a very squeaky wheel. Lesson for them as well as me: Even if an employee says they'll watch your stuff, don't take your eyes off it. And the employee shouldn't offer to do so. read more

This is the worst apple store experience ive ever had every time i come here to buy anything. Who knew buying a phone could feel like a pyramid scheme/dealing with a car salesman. Please read the fine print and ask all the questions possible before making a purchase as sales are final on literally the second you sign you can change your mind a moment after even when they disclose to you that something so obviously assumed like data transfer cant be done. I'd never bothered to look at the rating for this store as I've usually had good support at this location and others. However, I just had the worst Apple support experience in decades as a customer. There is a defect with iPhone 15 line that causes the NFC chip to become disabled when the phone is wirelessly charged in certain newer BMW vehicles. Apple has sent out a service bulletin to all stores that states that the phone must be replaced and cannot be repaired. Now, im not surprised to see it's so low. Apple phone support looked up and found the issue mentioned in the bulletin. They offered to replace my phone by mail or that they'd make me an appointment to get replaced at the Burlingame location. I chose the option of going to the store. That was a mistake. The staff member that assisted me first was perfectly nice and did what he could. The problem was the lady that claimed to be a manager. While three separate phone support agents immediately looked up and found the service bulletin, the manager refused to do so. She insisted that there was nothing in the case notes and refused to help. She insisted I had to wait hours for a same day repair for a problem Apple explicitly states is unrepairable. I quickly tired of her laziness and unwillingness to help and left. Called back phone support and now Apple is sending me a replacement phone by mail because the phone is unrepairable. The phone support team was fantastic throughout this. The young man who first helped me in the store was perfectly nice too. In general, I've been very disappointed with apple's repair services and AppleCare. I used to have Verizon's extended warranty plan and anytime a phone so much as hiccuped, they'd send me a new one overnight. I'm going back to that. I won't be going back to this location. The ones at Hillsdale and Stonestown are better. read more

There was a time when you bought an Apple product, not only were you walking out the door with a product that was cutting edge and designed beautifully, but you left with confidence knowing that your loyalty and spend was going to be rewarded with world-class service. Over the last two months I've had a couple of issues with two fairly new products, a 14" MacBook Pro and a pair of AirPod Max's. Total cost of this gear, close to three grand. In both instances, the resolution was to send both devices back in at exorbitant repair costs, $700 for a jammed key, and $300 for AirPods that wouldn't pair anymore. Other resolutions included buying an external keyboard (just spend more money) or "maybe you should buy AppleCare next time." And I get it. At the end of the day there's a transaction, there's warranty coverage, etc. But I think there's something to be said about customers, like me, who have supported apple for a quarter century, before it was as big of a company as it is now, when they looked at issues like these and took care of them with confidence. And that made it worth it. But now we get faulty hardware at ridiculous prices. Repairs that cost almost as much as new devices. It's just a different Apple. I know at the end of the day, my experience is just one voice in a busy world where people don't have time to listen to other people's problems, and that I'm fortunate to have the means to purchase Apple products. But I feel insulted. And nobody gives a fuck. Certainly not Apple. read more

This was one of the first Apple stores I ever went to back when they first opened and it's awesome to see the transformation this store has taken over the years. Amazing design. With covid restrictions, if you need something fixed, you gotta make a reservation. They are busy, and had to book my appointment a week out. My AirPods Pro had been acting up pretty much since I bought them when they first came out, but didnt think twice about taking them in until my friend told me they had a recall on them! My pair had crackling noises and the pro features were useless. Ppl complained that background noise was an issue, so I took them into the store to have em checked out. The staff was super helpful and they were able to test my current pair and they in fact did need to be replaced. AirPod pros carry a two-year warranty, and they replaced them for free. The new pair is night n day better compared to my og set. So long story short, if you have AirPod pro probs, best to bring it it and have them test them. I'm a sucker for new apple products. While I was in there I also swooped up an HomePod mini. Turns out they aren't seamlessly compatible with Spotify yet, and can't airplay to the home pod from my laptop. Bummer but at least they have a 14-day return policy. Overall, the experience here has always been pleasant, will continue to shop here for my apple needs considering I hate waiting for things to ship lol read more

I upgraded my Jurassic iPhone 5S to an 8. When the 8 came out last year I knew I wanted to get it, but had to wait due to...I'm poor. I finally did last week after the price dropped by $100. I've always had good experiences with the staff at the Burlingame store. It was no different last week. I knew it there would be a wait, but it wasn't that long. After checking in, I was told I'd be helped when the next Specialist was available. After about 15 minutes Teddy asked me what I wanted and I told him the 256GB 8 (oh, yeah). He first asked him if I had backed up my date onto iCloud. I sheepishly said, no. No problem, he did it for me. We sat at one of the long tables in the back--and kudos to Apple for the redesign--where he began setting up the 8 with my profile (i.e. fingerprint ID, passcodes, etc). The whole process took less than 20 minutes and then he recommended I charge my new phone there. While waiting, I also picked up a case. The Burlingame store is my go-to store. Very helpful visit. I made an appointment online the day before to try on the Apple Watch 6. I am undecided between the 40 and 44mm faces. I am petite, and worried that the 44 inch would be too large for my wrist. The watch face isn't too large on and is easier for aging eyes to read texts. I like the gold color, but the silicone band does not come in pink, which is a nice color match for the watch frame. Not sure which I'll choose. read more

My iPhone 14 Pro Max had a crack in the glass and little damage in the back. I had Apple Care but unknowingly the serial # did not match up. Essentially I was paying 9.99 per month for Care on a device that had been turned in! I didn't know that Care had to be cancelled on that phone and transferred. No one told me. But it didn't take long for the Apple folks in the Burlingame store on Burlingame Avenue to find ways not to help me and then passed me off to an 800 number which I spent an hour on the phone after talking to three people I was asking for a certain code a CS number my God they thought I must've been trying to steal top secrets. They didn't help me either and said that the store actually could've helped me! It's no wonder that Apple shares have fallen lately and that iPhone sales for the last 3 quarters have been poor. I made a genius bar reservation at this location to get help with a few issues my phone was having, as soon as I sat down with the "technician" he grabbed my phone without asking and immediately said he couldn't help me because I was running Beta without even giving me an explanation or a solution on what to do. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. Then when I proceed to try to explain to him my issue he interrupted me and said "you can speak to my supervisor". Then when the supervisor arrived he only said the same things the first technician said. When I tried to ask for a different technician, because I no longer wanted to work with him, he said that I had to continue to work with him and there was no one else that could help me. Customer service at this location has been the worst experience of my life. Literally. My whole experience was bad as soon as I walked into the store. What happened to Apple? They overprice everything yet they treat their loyal customers like shit. I walk in the store with an appointment for a return/exchange. My phone's camera has never focused up close but I read there may be software updates that'll fix the issue. So I waited and waited but it never worked so here I am, 10 months into my warranty, first time making a claim like this in my life! I walk into the store, the greeters tell me they don't see my appointment. I show them my appointment confirmation. I asked if I was at the right location, the girl responds with sarcasm and attitude. And then the greeters tell me I made a "shopping" appointment and they won't be able to help me until tomorrow. I explained that I wasn't aware there were different appointment types that would make or break Apple from being able to assist me. I know the process and I know most likely Apple will have to exchange my phone which is why I selected Return/exchange option. I finally just asked for a manager because there were 8 people standing around doing nothing. Eventually, the male greeter was the one who was appointed to assist me. (Ironic isn't it, after he told me I couldn't get assisted until the next day?) He ran a diagnostic - which of course his system said everything works fine. Let's think about this logically though, how would a diagnostic of the software analyze and determine the physical condition/performance of a device? Anyway, he eventually took my phone to get the camera switched out. I came back to pick up my phone which still didn't work. This device specialist kept going back and forth to his "manager". By the fourth time, I had to tell him to just bring his manager over because they were all just standing there in the middle talking to each other, doing nothing. A woman named Elena came. I informed her my camera wasn't focusing and showed her. She had the audacity to tell me she sees that it's focused when everyone else verified it wasn't. I was so shocked! (see photo screenshot attached, you can see the camera focuses on everything further away but not my nails where I selected the yellow box to focus). She was being so combative that even my boyfriend got annoyed and upset (he's usually the calm one who bites his tongue and doesn't complain). But we are both long time apple users so we know when something is a user error or a software issue, etc. Elena made it the most difficult process to just get my phone replaced. When Apples warranty has always been (1 year warranty on manufacturing issues on undamaged devices - my phone was in pristine condition, never been out of the case and always has a glass screen protector, not even a hairline scratch. So it's not like I was trying to scam them for a new phone). Listen, I've worked in the cellphone industry and am well-versed on how the system works. First, you have to troubleshoot, attempt to fix the issue, replace. That's usually the order of process, it's long and winded but it is what it is. I'm fine with that, but don't try and tell me that there's nothing wrong with my phone when clearly I'm showing you there's an issue. My iPhone X (10) camera focused up close better than the iPhone 12 Pro. I only upgraded because the pro was supposed to have an amazing camera so I spent the money and now I'm stuck with a phone that overheats and a camera that doesn't work properly. (The focus doesn't work on photo or video mode, front and back camera). My boyfriend wanted to make a purchase but was so turned off by the level or lack of customer service that we made a trip to a different Apple Store instead. Honestly, I think Apple should just upgrade me for free to the iPhone 13 pro for my inconvenience since there's clearly something wrong with this models camera. Summary: I would NEVER recommend anyone to go to Apple Burlingame nor will I go there again. I read the other reviews and there's multiple comments of many employees standing around, rude customer service and lack of knowledge. Our experience at Apple Hillsdale was much better but we only went in for a purchase. Any time you have an issue with your phone, chat with apple tech support so there's a record of your issues before wasting your time and heading to the store. This store definitely needs a visit from the HR dept and get some hospitality training. ASAP!! read more

My 2018 MacBook Pro 15" was having boot up issues and the Apple genius attempted to restore and revive the laptop without success. They said I may need to replace the logic board for $700 which was not worth it for an old laptop. After their attempt, my laptop no longer starts up and has lost all its data. I would not recommend them trying to fix your laptop and bring it into an independent Mac repair shop for proper diagnostic. I found a few shops that can repair the logic board for a lot less of what Apple offers. read more
