YES. there is usually a wait and then the time it takes to *be* serviced takes at least 30 minutes. do i spend more money than i want to? yes. i want to SPEND NO money. but i need a dumb case or insurance or a new charger and this can cost anywhere from an extra $40-120 bucks. but the service here is good and it's always good. the manager here is very laid back and easy to work with and accommodating and nice. there's an associate there named Joey Brilliante and while i wouldn't say he lives up to his last name he is super nice. he not only helped me two days in a row with my idiotic questions he also helped me sync my bluetooth to my car because i could NOT figure it out.

Here is a news flash: optimum's equipment is sub-par, trouble shooting skills suck and everyone you contact seems to be located outside of the USA having a heavy accent that makes communication almost impossible. As of 11/11/2025, just spent 2-hours on the phone with no results. Now have to wait 2-days for the Tech to come again (third time this year). The install was a breeze and the techs were top notch going over every detail of my setup. When I didn't want to use their equipment he said that's ok but he also left me the router they supply, it was labeled where I would need to make connections and then he wrote his name and number on the box in case I needed to switch it quickly. When my router went out late one night, instead of scheduling an appointment and waiting they connected me up in a few minutes. When a part of my system failed (POE) and I talked with tech support they decided they needed to dispatch a tech. It took longer than I had excepted and hoped so when I called back to get an ETA the Support Manager located the part I was waiting on and personally drove it to my home. This is not something someone else told him, he took action because he cared about his customers. The company may not have the polish of a big company like Optimum but they shine like no other because off the nice, caring and hard working people who work at Planet Network.

Customer service is even worse--AI-driven, outsourced, and completely ineffective. No one understands the issue, and you'll waste hours repeating yourself with no resolution. The low level customer service and the way the company bilks customers is astounding. They claim to be giving you a five (5) year price lock. In my case, two months later they change the name of your promotion to Promotion for Life. They say that this means that only the taxes can go up if they do, but not the price for the service in my case, $40.00 with $5.66 in taxes for a total of $45.66. Do not be fooled. All their promotions, regardless of names, can be renamed and repriced at any time. They actively promote Autobilling, which means they take the money directly out of your bank account each month. It is not worth getting a $5 reduction to have these crooks get access to your bank account. Once you provide them with your bank account number, they can help themselves to any amount. Prices with Astound change at the drop of a hat. They do this by claiming that your plan's name was changed. What this means is that they hiked the price. Am actively going to see if I can find a better deal elsewhere. These people are nasty and only interested in bilking customers. These are seasoned scam artists.

I received an email instantaneously. 1) Moved into the new apartment on March 19th. Signed up for service. It was available immediately. 2) Same day added a Roku via email. Within 10 minutes it was on the network. 3) Same day discovered a laptop I used for work was not compatible with the default network. Placed a call. 4) March 21 a tech shows up, updates their equipment (see picture) and my router. Laptop now works. My entire home including echos, google home, smart plugs, additional laptops, FireTV are all on the network and are working great!
