I recently tried to resolve a complaint with an assistant manager about being overcharged on monthly bills. I was previously told that I would only have to pay 75 dollars a month to upgrade to an iPhone 6 but my monthly bills were being charged at 94 dollars a month. The assistant manager admitted that there was a mistake but insisted that there was nothing she could do about it and that I pay the new charges because I signed their contract. Customers, if you have had the same problems, then write a formal complaint to The Better Business Bureau. Write your complaint to sound as professional as possible versus sounding like a rant. Within a week, a Verizon executive relations coordinator will contact you and you can begin to resolve your complaint. After contacting The Better Business Bureau and speaking with a Verizon executive relations coordinator, I was able to get back my money back. read more

Wow, I spoke too soon. I am replacing my old review of this place [which was posted up an hr ago], with a new and improved, more nicer review. They have changed 360 since the last time I visited - 1 yr and a half ago. More female employees, friendlier faces, more smiles, and a re-modeled store; bee-u-tee-ful. Although I had to wait 10 freakin' minutes for the tech guy to come troubleshoot a phone I wanted to play with, all was well and taken cared of. All my questions were answered with none of that obnoxious pressure to buy the phone. My rep was wonderfully open and honest and understood that I wasn't going to purchase anything just yet. Congrats, Pasadena Verizon. You guys worked wonders for me today. I will preface by saying that the above rating is on this specific instance and the store itself seemed fine however I feel this specific instance warrants me to giving this place a one. I was in the area running errands with a friend and I thought, "Since I'm right here, why don't I just walk in and pay this bill?" That ended up being a bad idea. Being that it's a Friday, I anticipated a bit of wait however, I didn't anticipate being insulted by the customer representative. When I got to the cash wrap I told the C.R. that I was there to pay a bill and in cash. The bill was $116.44 and I handed the C.R. $120.00. He rang up the bill and as he stood there getting my money he said, "We're out of change, why don't we round up to $117 and I'll give you back $3." REALLY? I can imagine the look on my face, due to the fact that asking the customer to pay more (out of sheer inconvenience) to be ILLEGAL. I looked at him in disbelief and told him, "No, I want all of my change." He then looked at me and in a condescending lowered tone said, "Do you really need 56 cents?" Am I serious? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Also, insulted and shaking my head in surprise that I just waited in line for 20 minutes to be insulted by a customer representative, who if I'm not correct is supposed to be courteous and professional. He then rolled his eyes and proceeded to find change. I was at a loss here. I used to work for Nordstrom, Macy's, and other restaurants in my youth. I am more than familiar with what good customer service is and what I have done in similar situations. How about this, "I'm sorry but I'm out of change in my register, if you wait over here I will get your change it just might take a minute because I have to go to another machine." Or why don't we just make it simpler and ask this, "I'm sorry, I'm out of change in my register, do you have 44 cents?" No, he felt, for whatever reason he did, to ask a customer if they should have all the money that is legally indebted to them. Now as you can see I have written just a handful of reviews...all happy and content reviews. I'm not out here to make trouble or hate on folks. With that said, I feel compelled to write my first negative review. If I had known that I would spend 30 minutes in the store and be insulted like that I would have just paid my bill on line and saved the trouble and insult. I spoke to the store manager that evening and although he was a bit defensive he still tried to appease me as a customer. I can appreciate that however, if you need to pay a bill, do it over the phone, computer, or snail mail because the wait alone should be enough to keep you away from this store unless you want to see if you'll be insulted like I was. p.s. Verizon is known for their excellent customer service. And i am a regular VW customer. But this was my first time at this location, I came in with my girlfriend to get her an upgrade on her phone. We walked in, and everyone seemed busy , or was with some one at the moment. So we just looked around for a while.. We ended up waiting atleast 25-30 minutes, no reps greeted us or asked if we needed help. We were like flies on a wall, no one cared to help us. Finally my girlfriend decided to walk up to this lady, I guess she was the floor manager, and told her we've been waiting for a very long time now to be helped, and it seemed like she didnt even notice we were even there. Finally another 15 minutes goes by and a gentleman comes off his lunch break out of the lunch room by the name of Michael. Very nice guy, very polite. Who then tried to help us get our upgrade. Unfortunately he told us the phone we wanted was not in stock.. Keep in mind we called about an hour before arriving here and asked if they were. We called and asked for 16 gb I5S. Any color. We come into the store and said either 16 or 32 would be fine. None available. We could have saved about an hour of our time had they been honest with what they had in stock instead of saying they did just to get us in the store. Today I called Huntington Beach Verizon. Their customer service is up to the verizon name. I wouldnt bad mouth this company, but dont expect too much at this Pasadena location. read more

Nichole is the most wonderful sales associate! My phone died and she helped me to get a replacement in record time. I had such a great experience, I called my sister down to upgrade her phone the same day. Nichole was patient, professional and didn't try and oversell either of us. Here the service sucks I came to make a payment, but kiosk doesnt work because i changed to T mobile. So i asked someone to help, he said" go to the guy with white shirt" n i came to him and said "my phone number no longer exists can u help me. he said " go kiosk n put account number" I came back to kiosk. I had difficulty in paying. Another guy said " try again" WTH There were only 3 customers. Almost 10 emloyees there. What they are here for? I consumed more than 15 mins coming back and forth to ask help to different people. They were just standing up with no help. I was really worried about coming to this store after reading all the reviews, but I got fast, awesome service the moment I walked in. My iPhone screen cracked and I came for an upgrade w/o an appointment. Noelle, one of the sales associates, immediately checked me in (no wait time), listed my options, answered my questions about the 5s, and got the color I wanted even though it was low in stock and she had to dig it up in the storage room downstairs. Noelle walked through my plan and expenses and even made recommendations on saving more money on my current plan. She moved all my contacts and helped me register everything on my new iphone. When I asked if I could charge the amount on my Verizon account for convenience, she didn't hesitate to accommodate. The whole experience was easy and pleasant. I came in on a Sunday at around 3:30pm when it wasn't super crowded, so that may have something to do with it. read more

Came in here for a simple data transfer from a Droid to the 5 and what I got was attitude and 5 unsuccessful attempts. The douche bag blamed it on the old phone when it's his ignorance because I took the phone to another store and they were to able to transfer with no problems. The total time in the store was 45 minutes. I could have gotten a prostate exam in less time and it would have been more pleasant than my experience at this POS store. Beware of what they do to your phone. When he handed it back to me, I was missing an email account and without permission he peeled off the plastic screen protector. One star for coverage plus one star for the occasional employee that really does help me. Now then, cooperate Verizon you suck. I had to start the process of going to another carrier to get you to do something about that outrageous bill I was paying but you refused to take back things that did not work as explained to me at the store in 24201 Valencia Blvd Space 2018 Westfield Valencia Town Center Valencia, CA 91355 . I got an ipad, LG Bluetooth headset and extra phone from the location in Santa Clarita. The sales person said the ipad would do voice recognition. It did while connected to the internet but not built into the device. I asked if it was 'on board built in' she said yes. Verizon refused to take it back. The only thing they can defend themselves with is I had two weeks to bring it back. The LG headset never worked because no one can hear me on it. Same story. I was given run around for three weeks and now find my self embittered. I'm still thinking about switching just out of principle. Do your research first. They told me I had to go back to the original store for return, finally someone admitted that any cooperate store could take items back but the one on Lake ave refused. Verizon wireless needs to work on their commitment to their customers and its service it provides if it wants to maximize sales. My 5 star rating is for KIMBERLY!!!!! I waited for about 35 minutes after being told it was going to be a 15 minute wait to be seen. I am a very understanding person I came in Saturday noon and it was really busy but that didn't bother me much. But as soon as Kimberly came to help us I was so pleased with her customer service. She wasn't forcing me to buy things I didn't need. She was very understanding of MY needs and what I wanted. Her personality was just amazing!! The entire time she kept my mom and I entertained and laughing the time flew by! We absolutely love that lady!!!! It was a pathetic experience. We needed to upgrade an old iPhone. They give you an appointment but there is not enough personnel to handle the load. We had to drive twice from Glendale to Pasadena wasting basically an entire day and a lot of gas and in the end had to give up on them. The store is full of people but if you look carefully very few are being taken care of, most are waiting for ever. In the past they were fine and probably the epidemic is the cause so I would recommend buying your phone for an upgrade through the internet and activate it from home. Today I leave Verizon wireless. First of all. They promised a delivery of within two weeks for the apple iphone5s. I received it later than that. Then I finally get it around oct 6 and it turns out my iPhone 5s has terrible cellular signal from home. Numerous dropped calls, and one or two bars cellular signal. They take the phone back, add insult to injury $70.0o less on refund. Less upgrade fee, restocking fee. Good bye Verizon. I'll miss your telephone customer service, not so much your store. A few weeks ago, my month-old Galaxy S6 spontaneously sent 79 text messages to the same recipient over the course of 4 hours. I googled this problem, and couldn't find anyone else experiencing duplicate messages in the same volume. I went to the store early the next morning without an appointment, and was able to speak to someone immediately. After hearing my problem, he said he'd never heard of that happening before. He tinkered with my phone for a minute, then said all he could do was reset messaging to default. He took a couple minutes doing that, and then said that if it happened again, I should call the "tech department", and he wrote down a phone number for me. I left the store, and decided I didn't want to wait for it to glitch again. I went home and called the tech department, which turned out to be the number to Verizon in general. I spoke to an automated machine until I got tech support, and then was told I couldn't get help because my name wasn't authorized on the account. I called back with my mother the next day, and they told me to switch over from Samsung messaging to Verizon messaging. I can't believe that the guy at the store wouldn't have recommended that extremely easy switch. The problem took phone-tech-support 5 minutes to figure out, and he wasn't even looking at my phone. My main issue with my visit is that at no point did he consult another coworker, he didn't look up anything on his computer, he didn't tell me I'd need to be authorized for the tech department diagnosis, and he didn't let me know any options other than waiting for it to happen again. I do remember the associate's name, but I'm not a snitch, and I know this lack of customer service is never an individual's fault, but something systemic. read more

I came into the store around lunch time, there wasn't much people in the store. I was approached by a "guy" sales rep I'm not going to name any names, I told him I was here to port my number over from my previous carrier and pick up a SIM card. He sat me down and asked me a few questions and went to the back and grabbed a SIM card and slipped it inside my phone and told me that the phone would activate in 10-15 minutes. I said alright that's fine I'll sit here and wait until it activates because I don't want to leave the store and have to come back again. He told me that he was going ahead to help other customers. I waited about 20 minutes and the phone continued to not activate, so I asked another employee there to help me check out the port status to see if everything is correct and set to activate. He checked everything for me online real quick and told me that it will activate in 10-15 so I left the store thinking it would be fine. I waited about 6 hours until I realized that it usually does not take more than 10-30 minutes to activate a device, hence I use to work in the wireless industry as well. I decided to call customer care and ask them if everything was correct, IMEI number and ICCID(SIM card), turns out that the rep that helped me out didn't even bother to double check the SIM card was correct. I felt that he wanted me out of the store ASAP because he didn't make any commission off of helping me. This experience was completely out of the world, I missed out on many important business calls and was not able to use the internet for any of my work. At my previous career in the wireless industry, my manager would make sure that the customer is completed and satisfied before leaving them. I hope Verizon can take action into training their employees to be more careful and professional. read more

Average Service, AT&T Getting Better. Came in to upgrade my phone since two years passed by and my iphone died. That's not a good sign for the quality of Apple. They changed their plans and loaded up the fees - upgrade fees, new plans. Was kind of upset Verizon does not do rollover minutes when their competition does. Manager and salesman promised to waive the $40 upgrade fee (I have no idea why they need to charge a fee to keep a customer). After several phone calls, the manager never rebated the upgrade fee. POOR SERVICE. Now they locked me into a contract and intentionally let my 14 day grace period lapse. Manager is a female. I am heading over to AT&T next time. read more

God I wish I could put 0!! I have been a Verizon customer for over 12 years on two different accounts and have always had great service until the two times I came to this store. I am angry, disgusted by the level of incompetence and disregard for true customer service. Obviously neither of the people I worked with in the store yesterday have any idea what customer service is or how to deal with people. Yes I was obviously upset but there are so many ways to turn that around, the number one would be listen and acknowledge. I shouldn't have to cuss to get heard or get my property given back to me. I'm very happy with the service I received today from my sales associate, Augustine. I have visited several other Verizon stores and been on the phone with customer service for 2 weeks trying to transfer my line to a business account. I had no success getting any information from any Verizon reps about the status of my account. Augustine immediately offered to make the business account for me in store. Even though the store was very busy, he waited with me for 2 hours while I was on the phone with a Verizon rep. In the end, we found out it was a glitch in the system and I will have to wait until they fix it, but I'm still glad I went into this location today, because I would still be in the dark otherwise. read more

If possible I try to avoid this place. Unfortunately, it is the only store that will cater to the masses. It seems if you go to one of the many other Verizon stores they are franchises and will not assist you and you are sent into this store. I shudder when I know I have to go in - when I first upgraded to my phone - being a newbie I asked for help (the young man who assisted me was rude, and short tempered). My affective filter is always high when I come into the store I know that I need to bring a book or something to occupy my time. Today, I called at noon to see if perhaps I could make an appointment for later in the afternoon - so I did not have to sit around forever. Only to discover that this is not offered. It seems with the technology of today (checking in on Yelp or FB!) one could use their phone to book an appoint with Verizon. However, what would a middle aged techno-phobe know????? Worst possible service, iphone stops working out of the blue, no service, came here, employee tried a new sim card. Sim card did not work and was told to go to apple, she did not try any other options or consult with coworkers. After waiting several hours at Apple they said that it was not their issue and that i had to return to verizon. Called verizon over the phone, in less then 20 minutes, they were able to solve my issue. I recommend calling customer service before stepping foot here. My question is, after seeing all of these negative reviews, why does verizon not do anything about it. A bit disappointed with this place. Decent customer service in terms of politeness, but I feel that I was either A. deceived, or B. accidentally misadvised due to employee's lack of knowledge. Long story short, I enrolled in the Verizion Edge plan back in December 2013 based on the employee's information provided. When I come in a couple months later, I find out that the terms are different from what was originally stated to me. As a result, I am essentially "trapped" in a crappy plan paying an excessive amount for a longer duration of time than I thought I would be. I will admit that I didn't read the many many many pages of paperwork that you have to sign when signing off on it, which was an idiot mistake on my part. I just assumed that it would be smooth and that things would be like the rep described, just as my experience had been with T-Mobile and Sprint over the last couple years. Two Recommendations: 1. READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING, and 2. Go to a different Verizon store. I will probably be switching back to Sprint because of my experience here. read more

Deceptive business practices -- to buy a phone you have to sign a electronic statement that says they already gave you a copy of the agreement which you don't get until you sign the form. In that form it tells you there's $35 restocking fee if you return your phone -- yeah, right $35 to put a phone back in the box less than 12 hours after you bought it. To put it on a shelf where the next "customer service" rep will pick it up for the next victim. No mention of the restocking fee whatsoever when purchasing a phone. I've been a Verizon customer for about 7 years and had no complaints (relative to other service providers) but I'm switching because I'm so disgusted with their policies. BUYER BEWARE! read more

Lol... To begin. They lied about the price of a discounted iPad to me saying it was free but I only had to pay the tax on the full amount... When I received the receipt they charged me $199 and tax. I informed them that I misheard or they misguided me on the price and wanted to return. He said sure no problem and said I would get a full refund. Lo and behold, a couple days later on my cc bill found a $75 restocking fee. Called Verizon hq about the situation. They spoke to manager there and was fighting the bill saying that I changed my mind knowing that it was $199. Uh, no. Eventually got it settled and it took me only 3 more calls to Verizon after that to have it credited. But other than that, it's in a nice location but won't be coming back due to the experience. read more

I noticed a few days ago that while using my handset I could barely hear the ring and people talking on the other end... so popped in here this evening hoping for a quick remedy. Emilio was awesome! He was not able to fix it so he ordered me a new phone for FREE which will be sent to me overnight also for FREE. He also instructed me on how to backup the data when I get home. This is my second Yelp review and my first one star review. The employees here are nice and friendly. But twice now in the last month I have had to switch to my backup phone and brought it here to activate. The activation process was quick and easy. Each time, the associate told me I didn't need to sign anything and I didn't owe anything. Both times, a few minutes after I left I receive an email alert thanking me for signing up for Verizon's protection plan and showing me my new (increased) bill. The first time I chalked it up to an honest mistake. The second time it happened, it screamed shady business. I talked to two associates about it. One said it was a glitch and happens a lot. Well, if that's the case, let the customer know and maybe remove it immediately after activating the phone. The second associate hung up as I told him it seemed shady. I don't know for sure. Maybe there is a glitch and Verizon has done a poor job at having their team address it on the spot (so I don't have to come back in to the store or call over the phone to fix it myself). Or it could be some sort of incentive program encouraging employees to sign up guests with the protection plan and, a'la Wells Fargo, the employees are doing it without the customers knowledge and hoping they don't catch it. So is Verizon just incompetent at fixing problems or are they being shady? Either way, that's it for me and my family. When our contract is up we are choosing a different carrier. ****Update**** I had to contact corporate and file a complaint against this store. Two weeks after being told by one of their associates that they had removed my protection plan I discovered it still on my bill. I've been a customer with Verizon for quite a few years now, and last weekend my wife and I went to their Pasadena / Lake Ave. store to get her a few phone (she fulfilled her 2 year contract and it was her birthday coming up - an early present!) It was a Saturday afternoon and though there were quite a few people around the store we were assigned a store staff right away once we checked in and explained what we wanted to do. Michael came by and introduced himself - he's our sales associate today. Being in sales myself, I was deeply skeptical about Verizon's attempt to give us a 'good deal' with their new Edge plan (somehow I imagined corporate figures in a board room, with dark intentions to shackle us down FOREVER with our contracts), but Michael worked with us every single step of the way, and explained all the detail about my wife's phone upgrade options, and even diagrammed a spreadsheet for me to decide on the pros and cons of each upgrade path. I still wasn't convinced, so I asked Michael to break it down to the most basic calculation - what is my final out of pocket, 24-month payment (including phone cost) if I went with Verizon Edge, compared if I just stayed with my current plan? Patient as he can be, further calculations were made, and we decided on the package that made the most financial sense for us - and SAVED A BUNDLE along the way. I just want to take this time to share our great experience at this store, and commend the effort in which Michael spent in explaining every detail to us; that is above and beyond what I had expected from a sales associate from any retail store - Thank you. Last Saturday we went to this store to upgrade my iPhone 5s to iPhone 7. Joe who helped us was very informative and gave us several great recommendations on what and how to save $$ and suggested better options for us. He even told us about a special on Mini iPads that we eventually added to our purchase of 2 iPhones 7's with related accessories. We cant say what a pleasure it was to work with Joe! The Lake Street Verizon Store has great, quick, no none sense service. When my boyfriend and I went in, we were immediately taken care of. We had previously been to another Verizon store in San Marino and wanted to make a simple phone swap (My boyfriend's I Phone for me and his old Droid back to him). The store before had a difficult time doing this, saying our phone information needed to be backed up here and there and after spending a considerable amount of time, only our phones were reset, but no phone swap. When we got to the one in Pasadena, Jay was able to take both phones and import the phone's information right away with no problems. This store must have the proper equipment to be able to do this. We even had a chance to visit Joe's Root Beer Deli something next door and have a Cucumber Soda and Taro Latte. When we got back to the store, the phones were ready and Jay had them all set for us. When I went back inside to make sure my insurance was now on my boyfriend's old IPhone, Jay said he had already done it. My boyfriend didn't want insurance on his old phone and while Jay was helping someone else, he was able to know that we wanted the insurance off the Droid. This is the type of store and the type of people that make everything so awesome. I really appreciate how helpful, down to earth and quick Jay was. They didn't try to sell us anything else, they just did the swap and that was it. Thanks. I am super excited about catching up with how to learn the features of the IPhone. read more

Got greeted at the door by some swarthy, short, bearded kid with major attitude (what was his name? Hamid or Kassim or something along those lines). I told him what I was there for. Wouldn't make eye contact, didn't seem to know what to do with me. Testily sked me to repeat what I wanted. By the fourth time of being asked what I wanted, I start getting testy myself. I said, "Look, I just want to switch over a number I have with T-Mobile to Verizon. That's good, right? So can we do this --- or not??" I don't mind waiting. I know how customer service reps can get busy. So after I said that Mr. Account Rep of the Year here starts walking around, obviously looking for someone else to hand me off to. I'm standing there, thinking, "What is this guy's problem?? Does he not understand english or something?" Mr. Unfriendly kept looking down at his tablet, trying to look busy, still totally copping an attitude for whatever reason, giving me the side eye --- and not realizing I can see it.
