Yesterday, I visited the Toledo, OH Franklin Park Mall Apple Store for the second time in…read moreapproximately two weeks. I have been there many times over the years with very positive experiences. The first recent visit two weeks ago was an attempt to update my mom's Apple Watch because fall detection was no longer working and the "automatic update" had not updated and I couldn't figure out how to manually update it. While everyone was nice during that visit, I was passed off to various staff members and ultimately needed to leave the store because the update was expected to take more than three hours and they would be closing before the very slow process could be completed. When I arrived home, I followed directions to continue the update process, but it was repeatedly unsuccessful. I decided it was time to buy my mom a new watch - the newest SE 40" face model- and not have to deal with trying to salvage a watch that was beyond its prime. I also decided to go to the Apple Store during the day on a weekday. Alissa was the team member assigned to me and she immediately took an interest in understanding why the fall detection feature was important. She was also very patient as we tried various passwords. It would have been a more stressful process without Alissa right there next to me with her understanding encouragement. Throughout this process of turning in the old watch (btw, received a credit of $55) and purchasing the new one, she never pressured me in any way. Alissa spent approximately one hour solely dedicated to getting the new watch set up, which included several calls to my mom to obtain a code that was generated to her phone at home). . Throughout it all, she was patient, helpful and good-natured. I left feeling that she cared about my experience and in setting up the cellular watch with ringtone and my mom's watch face preferences. Alissa is a very sincere, knowledgeable and dedicated team member who clearly takes pride in her ability to help others in her role at the Apple Store. Thank you Alissa! You're the best!!! P.S. The new SE watch also includes an extra fast charger along with a watch band.

I live an hour away, and my Apple HomePod failed after a few months. I took it into the store, where they confirmed it was covered under warranty. Great! Except they conveniently had "none in stock." I pointed to a stack of them on the shelf, but no, those were for sale, and Apple couldn't just swap one out. Instead, they had to order a warranty replacement--almost certainly a refurb--and have me return later. Fine. Annoying but okay. I asked if they could mail it to me since I live so far away, and of course, the answer was no. I had to come back in person with the defective unit. So I made the two-hour round trip home, waited, and then received an email telling me I had five days to pick up the replacement before it would be returned. I had to take time off work to drive another two hours round trip to swap my old one for the new one. I asked them at the store if everything was in the box. "Yes, everything is in the box," they said. Guess what? I get home, and THERE'S NO POWER CORD. Now I have a useless HomePod that I can't even plug in. I try calling the store and battling through Apple's awful automated system. When I finally reached a human, it was just an off-site answering service. They struggle to get the actual store to pick up. After holding for 15 minutes, I finally got someone from the store. First, they try to tell me the power cord must be there because "it doesn't come off." WRONG. The large HomePod's power cable DOES come off--the HomePod Mini doesn't. They don't believe me and have to check. When they finally admit I'm right, they offer two terrible choices: drive another two hours round trip to get the missing cord or have them mail it to me with no tracking, meaning if it gets lost, I'm out of luck. So now I have to decide whether to waste another $35 in gas and hours of my time or risk waiting another week and potentially never seeing my cord. This whole process was a joke. Apple does not care about its customers. They put the entire burden on me, costing me time and money to correct their mistakes. A multi-billion-dollar company can't figure out how to make warranty replacements easy. Apple turned This simple fix into an expensive, time-consuming nightmare. So disappointing.

I called the Verizon help center and my insurance DOES cover hardware issues out of my control, and what do you know there is no deductible to pay. Your staff were trying to get my to spend money and were so rude about actually trying to help me. Also the men I spoke with at this store should all be wearing their masks FULLY and not just covering their mouths. The men I talked to kept removing their mask in front of me. If you really care about your customers, public safety and health, you would enforce proper mask protocol for your employees at all times!

However, based on my initial experience, when I went back at another time, to get another computer fixed, I got a very different unexpected vibe. Having experienced a curt, rude, dark haired, middle-aged man that did not really want, or could care less if he had my business. Recommended by a faith based institutional customer, who was shocked to hear how I was treated, as a senior I was taken back, by his dismissive attitude toward me, as well as my older computer.

The 18-year old behind the counter kept trying to upsell us the Geek Squad 3-year warranty. Um no. It was under the 1-year warranty so I wanted them to run a diagnostic test on it. They called back after a few days and said it was a hardware problem and it's not covered under warranty but if I bought the 3-year Geek Squad thing for $400 they could fix it. For that much I could get another laptop, so no thanks (I only use it for the Internet). Disgusted with Best Buy a computer nerd we know highly recommended Virtual PCS. We took it in, the owner was great and told us so many of his customers come there because they get disgusted with Best Buy and their Nazi upselling tactics. He also told me that a waranty covers hardware and basically Best Buy tells people a load of shit to get them to spend more money. Virtual PCS did a great, quick and professional job. Not to mention an honest job. I had never been to an independently owned computer store before but am so glad I tried them out.

No where on their return policy page does it say the delivery fee is non-refundable, but still, they absolutely refuse. So now I am out $128.69 because they sell garbage refrigerators (it was a Best Buy brand refrigerator) and don't refund delivery fees on defective products. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I have had consistent migraines Since my new glasses but thought I was in adjustment period. They also are swapping out my frames!!! So I am very happy and ordered my contacts. My family has gone here for 4 yrs. sadly I'm on the verge of bifocals but I wasn't ready to make that jump and the Dr said to put my glasses on top of my head for reading. Which is what I have been doing the past few years without issues. I wish I would have kept that in mind when narrowing down my frames because the ones I purchased have a VERY sensitive spring on the sides. I've always had these kind of glasses so I was surprised when I put them on top my head to read and they fell off my head. I held something up to the light with them on my head and looked up. Mistake. They fell on the floor. I was hating them several hours after I picked them up and got them adjusted because they also CONSTANTLY slide down my nose with the slightest facial expression. I feel like Urkle pushing up my glasses 24/7. Ive had a headache since because I see the top of the frame because they do not stay in place at all. So I Went back for a second adjustment which was less than 24hrs of getting my glasses and conveyed my frustrations. I was basically told sorry nothing can be done since I used my insurance. They suggested to set them down next to me when I need to read something. I laughed and told the lady no I have 3 young kids. Have u ever tried to assemble a bday gift or Xmas gift like a play kitchen or a tool bench and have excited kids next to you "trying to help" ya no. That is a death wish for my frames. I also paid a lot out of pocket for upgrades so I was super excited for these frames. I was told the solution is that I could pay 100% out of pocket for a different pair. Wait what? These frames do not fit. Do not stay on the bridge of my nose. Cause me headaches because the frame is in plain view and fall off my head (now I know frames can't be fit to your head but my last 3 pairs never did this) and NOTHING can be done. Awesome. So I won't be ordering my contacts from them and my family will be finding somewhere else to go. Feel totally ripped off. Noting that my father went in to Stanton Optical becauhis frames were cutting into his temples (didn't fit his head properly) and they happily exchanged his frames that costed a fraction of my frames.
