I brought it in on Sunday April 19. I picked it up before closing and began to charge it. The phone immediately began restarting itself LITERALLY every two minutes. It was impossible to use. I took the phone back Monday April 20 and the store was closed for repairs. They left no way of contacting anyone in the store and their phone line just hung up on me like it was after hours, when I called. I had to call corporate because I had no idea what to do and my phone NOW wasn't working correctly at all. So by Wednesday of that week, I get a call from corporate who asks if I can drive an hour+ and back from their Birmingham store because apparently the Tuscaloosa store flooded, so it was closed indefinitely. I obviously had no choice, so I go to Birmingham only to have the very same result. I had given my phone, in Tuscaloosa, to an employee named Hunter who worked on my phone there. The person in Birmingham said since it was still restarting itself after another battery change, they might have destroyed the motherboard and I should contact Hunter to get my original battery back in order to see if it fixed the problem. However, my original battery was destroyed because they had the box of returns on the floor, instead of on a counter or something, so again I'm screwed by this company! I took it back once they reopened and explained everything that had transpired ONLY to have the clown behind the desk tell me, "There's nothing we can do about it!" A big FU at the end of it. Well upon searching for a newer phone, I took it out of the military grade, shock proof case for the first time since I placed it in the case. And in doing so, I noticed they dropped my phone, while out of the case, and SHATTERED it!!! It has NEVER been out of that case until they opened it to replace the battery. And they didn't have the class, professionalism or plain decency to tell me they dropped it when trying to repair it!! I added pictures to document. So not only did they destroy the motherboard, but they shattered the back of my phone.... And all I wanted was a battery changed! I was without my phone for two weeks dealing with this! Save yourself some money and headaches!!! I wouldn't bring my keyboard to be dusted at this clown establishment! UbreakIfix is more like Ibreak and you eat!! That's what it turned out to be for me. I purchased the Groupon to assist with my mother getting her broken iPad glass fixed. My mother has been calling this company for days now only to hear that the phone line was disconnected. She finally visited the actual location of the business only to see that the Gadget Geeks was closed (Google even has the business listed as "permanently closed"). She was extremely disappointed. Before I considered calling Groupon for a refund I reached out to Gadget Geeks via Facebook messenger. I expressed my frustration about the store's closing and having a Groupon voucher that I couldn't used. GG replied back saying "Hi Jemia, We are relocating and we will be closed until April 1st. You can always contact groupon and get a refund. We let them know over a month ago to suspend any sales of groupons related to us." I don't understand why you would have a Groupon deal available and you're closed for months?! And then suggesting that I should just get a refund is beyond frustrating. GG then asks me what I needed repaired and I told them. They said that they could meet me on HWY. 280, repair the item and return it in the same day. The cost, $75. --- While I appreciated the gesture to repair the iPad outside of the business, I was not happy with the price. I paid $15 for a $30 valued discount with Groupon. The cost of the repair was $89. I had checked their website before purchasing the Groupon and before they shut it down. If my Groupon had been honored the cost should have been $59 (plus tax). But whoever the rep was responding for GG clearly didn't understand the value of the Groupon ad and told me, "We are honoring the groupon without redeeming it. Technically with that deal you get $15 off after you pay $15 to groupon, not $30. Let me email my Rep and see if we can even still redeem them." WTH????? Completely baffled by the response I sent a screenshot of the actual ad that CLEARLY states "$30 Value for Glass Repair" (for $15). Their response, "Yes, I know. After you pay the $15 to groupon so you technically get $15 off." WHAT?! This business clearly doesn't understand how Groupon works. I told them that they were incorrect about the Groupon ad. What's the point of buying a $15 Groupon deal and I only get $15 off of my repair. There's NO savings! Then the GG rep told me, "I said that you will be returning the groupon and without even redeeming the groupon I was gonna give you $15 off. Have a good day." WOW. What kind of CUSTOMER SERVICE is this? So I guess you're just going to FORCE ME to get a refund on my Groupon deal instead of trying to make things rights. My final reply was, "The entire point of paying for the Groupon was to receive $30 off. You did not honor your Groupon deal. That is extremely discouraging and bad for business. You have a good day as well." Their response..."*thumbs up*" In good faith I purchased $15 Groupon valued at $30. Only for the business to be closed for the large majority of the 120 days that my voucher was good. And then I was basically told that they would NOT be honoring the deal that they promoted with Groupon. So. Disappointing. :/
