This is the third time I am using VT Moving and Storage. They moved me from NY to VT two years ago. They moved my furniture to storage units close by for a renovation and moved us back into the house after the renovation. Everyone from the office staff to the moving team are professional and go above and beyond with there service. I cancelled my move two day before they where suppose to move me back into my home because of a death in the family and Jennifer was so kind and accommodating and gave me the earliest next date. When the team of movers got to my home they where efficient and careful about everything that they touched. When they where done moving everything in they went room by room with me and made sure furniture and boxes where were I needed them Caleb, Jason and Alex are the A team. This is our 3rd time using them. As my family and moves get bigger, VT Movers continue to progress and up their game the bigger the move. This last one actually required a 2nd truck! No problem, they said. And next day delivered with 2 trucks, same number of crew and got the job done with no fuss, no worry and no questions asked. Oh, and they packed EVERYTHING for a 4 BR, 2500 Sq foot apt like it was nothing Don't waste time shopping around. This is the place to put your money. Professional. Kind. Flexible. In April 2025 the HOA hired them to move all item from my condo due to a water damage event. A number of items were damaged during the move due to rough handling. A tall mirror was broken, a large lamp shade was missing and a window air conditioner grill was punctured rendering it non functional. The damage reimbursement policy is pathetic and is unacceptable. 60 cent per pound of damage! ...and you can only make a claim within 10 days. ...So what would have happened if my wife's diamond tennis bracelet was damaged. ...Weighs a tenth of a pound, so 6cents reimbursement. The manager said this was a government policy. -protecting who? This business needs to take responsibility for damage they are responsible for on a case by case basis. I would avoid this business. I don't recommend them to take care of any personal items. -Just brutal. read more

Beware!! This local company cancelled my cross country move with less than 2 weeks notice and offered no compensation. I had been warned they do this regularly (Jennifer also admitted they did it to others this summer) but I was lured by the lower price and that they were local. Shop around for a more professional company that has back up or take your chances with this bunch. Not worth the risk. I am out thousands and stuck for months since movers book well in advance. They showed up on time and were courteous. Everyone was ready to go when they arrived. They had a foreman and everyone seemed to be experienced and responsive. I will not see my furniture until much later as they loaded a U-Pack freight trailer that was going across the country. The foreman assured me several times that he knew what he was doing and to relax. We will see when it arrives if it was packed well enough to survive the trip. The bill was $400 more than what we were originally quoted, and that wasn't fun on the end of a very long day when we were exhausted. The amount of hours to do the job was not more than what was originallly estimated, so that was frustrating. Also the foreman was a little defensive when I was naturally worried about our furniture being wrapped well enough to make the trip. If you're as good as you say, then no need to be defensive, but you are young and will come to understand that with age. Someone being worried about their worldly possessions isn't a personal slight against you...it's just human. Nice guys though and everyone worked super hard. I'd hire them again provided my things arrive packed well in the freight trailer. Thank you for all of your hard work. read more

If I could give this company a 0 star review, I would. Not only is the service they provide expensive, they also don't provide self-storage and require you to use their movers to access your storage unit. So, if I wanted to grab my belongings, I would have to pay to have them retrieve one product? This moving company was extremely unprofessional. When emailing about quotes and services, was responded with attitude and disrespect, especially from Jennifer L. They do not have any consideration for their customers, so be cautious when looking for their business. read more

We hired Vermont Moving & Storage to move our household from Williamstown to Barre in April. I must say the three guys who showed up really hustled and worked hard. But I think in their push to be time-effective, they missed things...many boxes and some furniture ended up in the wrong places (although they worked to fix some things before they left - we just were overwhelmed and didn't notice all of the wrong placements until later), and when they just up and left the house we were moving from, there was still about five pick-up truck size loads of stuff left that we ended up having to move ourselves. I would have preferred to pay overtime, if that's what it would have taken, but we weren't given an option - they just left at half time (so to speak). Also, they were quite careless moving my stainless steel fridge and the doors are now all scratched up, with one or two dents as well - nothing we can do to fix them. I was very sad to see that. Also, we were told they could pack stuff, if directed. We had them pack about four boxes, and one of them contained a copper sculpture that was just thrown in a box with other things and it ended up bent all out of shape. So, we end up with a mixture of good and bad here - hard workers, met the estimate, but careless in a few areas. I think I might hire them again, but would certainly have a heart-to-heart prior to any move and point out these shortcomings. read more

Very friendly lady I spoke with on the phone - seemed knowledgeable and friendly enough. Despite their website stating pricing for two movers & a truck - she insisted they only book three movers and a truck. OK, whatever. Placed the initial call mid week to book Tuesday of the next week - said I would hear from dispatch on Friday or Monday for a Tuesday AM move - hrmm. No call Friday, was busy, no big deal. Called Monday AM, still no time from dispatch - not good. Called Monday afternoon and spoke with the same lady - still very friendly, said "she was just about to call me" - which I am not sure if that was the case because she STILL couldn't give me a time for my move the next day - so, why would she be "just about to call me" if they still didn't have a move time from dispatch? Placed me on hold, came back on the phone - said they would give me a call late morning on my move day to give me a time in the afternoon for the move - not good. Called another moving service to see if I could secure a time - secured another company and a time over the phone within about five minutes for a move the next day. Called VT Moving back towards the end of the day for a "thanks, but no, thanks." Beware - these folks seem to have scheduling issues which is odd for a moving company. read more

I can't say enough good things about Robert and Jennifer at VT moving and storage. We moved an entire household across the country and it was complicated. Stuff going into storage and some things going to a temporary residence. My husband had to handle all the packing on his own. They were wonderful. Jenn's communication and coordination and her follow-up was superb and Robert and his crew were efficient, hard working, smart and professional. They are also a family owned business, which we loved. I booked them for a move to Boston. It was VERY expensive and I would not recommend them for the following reasons. They did arrive on time and were efficient loading and unloading (though this was at the expense of causing damage I realized after everything was unloaded). However, they seemed to lack some common sense and loaded bags of trash into the truck, which I had set aside to put in the garbage. The biggest issue though is that many of my furniture pieces were visibly damaged in the move. An expensive wooden dresser that was in perfect condition (I had photos from just prior to the move to prove this) was scraped on all corners on the front, some of which was several inches and were discolored, and every drawer pull was scratched. It looked as though they either dropped it face down or else scraped the entire front across a surface, such as when passing through a doorway. Both of the wooden nightstands had new scratches on the top that caused discoloration. A TV stand I had bought less than a year prior had a small puncture on the front. I had purchased insurance in case of damage. I contacted the company promptly afterwards, providing a description of the damage to each piece as well as photos to show the damage. They had me fill out a claims form and then were initially responsive to emails, saying that they'd pay for repairs. However, it has been almost 6 weeks and absolutely nothing has been done in terms of repairs. They keep saying that they're waiting on responses from repair companies, but I know that local repair companies were responsive to me within a day or two. I would definitely NOT recommend using due to the high costs, carelessness, and clear failure to follow through with honoring insurance plans for damage. read more
