Some nice foot ware etc ... they sell but the service sucks. I was in there the last SAT late afternoon 9/13 with my wife and each time we went to the counter to pay for what we had the girl at the register just walked away as soon as we were ready to pay with no comment or anything. She did it with both of us at different times. We then waited for the other space cadet to finally realize what had happened, and we checked out never to return! I went to Vernon Powell this past summer and a sweet young man told me to comeback with the socks I normally wear before trying anything. I realized he didn't work on commission and wasn't in the mood. This past thurs I went and a female helped me, she wasnt in the mood to help either. There was a little female that asked if i was finding everything as she kept walking. I went to rehoboth and got 4 pair birchenstocks and 1 dansko Dei ruinedsalisbury for me, i hope they keep their diversity. A couple weeks ago I bought 2 pairs of Vionic shoes. 1 pair stretched after 1 short wear. I decided to go into the store to ask for help/ advice. I asked if should I should contact Vionic directly. I never expected to just return the shoes and get my money back. they did eventually exchange the shoes for another model of Vionic. the entire time the attitude from the staff was condescending and annoyed. i was treated as if they have done this for me often. I was told they were exchanging as a favor and that the new shoes were a final sale, I felt very uncomfortable and like a repeat offender. I've never before tried to make a return after wearing the shoes Every time I went into the store, staff has never been very welcoming but this time a staff member was just standing there, hands in her pockets, looked my friend up and down and never asked her if she needed help or moved to help. I can promise you that after this experience this was definitely the last pair of shoes that I will ever purchase from the VP store in Rehoboth Beach. I love this store. I started coming to Vernon Powell to buy my running shoes, but now I buy all of my shoes there. Why? Because my feet are horrible. Pain, plantar fasciitis, you name it. VP has a pedorthist that helped me select appropriate sandals and fashion sneakers. While the higher end shoes are not cheap, I would much rather spend money on shoes that will last me a year or more and cause no foot pain versus my previous hit or miss style of buying shoes. I think the employees demonstrate great customer service, they greet people as soon as they walk in, and they will send my entire order to Rehoboth where I don't have to pay state tax. There is also a frequent buyer program where you earn $25 gift certificates to be applied towards future purchases. read more

Sneaker department - My first time in the store I had a bad experience. I felt like I had been railroaded into a very expensive pair of sneakers. I was told I needed to get used to them being the 'correct' size. I didn't - and then couldn't return them because I had worn them for a very short time (trying to get used to the fit) I decided to give them another shot (almost a year later) as they are the only store around that actually measures you . I settled on a pair of sneakers and 1 day later I had buyers remorse based on the price. I returned them but because I used a debit card they could only do a return via cash and not put it back on the card. I have never had this issue anywhere before, especially with an item this expensive. I was furious, but polite, and no one cared. I will never go back. Also, the staff thought it was pretty funny that some of them were trying on shoes to buy for themselves, while they were 'working'. read more

I had a very good experience today at the store. I found the sales guy very knowledgeable and nice. I come out here to Maryland 3 times a year and I will definitely shop again here on my next visit. Becky is the most knowledgeable and friendly professional I have ever met in a shoe store or doctors office. She was very patient and took great pains in explaining why I was having foot problems. I've shopped at Vernon Powell several times in the past and had decent experiences, my only complaint was that the employees were suffocating and hovered too much. Today I went in looking for a vest that I was told would be back in stock by now on a visit a week ago. The vest wasn't in stock I went to ask an employee if I could have them order it for me, which I have had done in the past. The man was talking to his co-workers and all of them ignored my attempts to ask. When they finally listened to me I received a not very nice "We don't do that here." After this I left the store. I probably wouldn't return aside from the fact that I have store credit that I need to use up. read more

Today I was in your Salisbury store. I picked out a pair of SAS sneakers & insoles with the help of  Noah.  I was also interested in purchasing a pair of casual shoes. Noah checked on  the  SAS casual shoe I had decided on but it was not available in my size. We were in the process of investigating other options when a man introduced himself to Noah. They started talking about his college acceptance and how this guy used to play ball for the same school. I waited patiently for this conversation to end, it didn't. In fact two other salesmen joined in the conversation. At one point the man remarked to Noah that he better not tie up his time, one of the other salesmen said "that's ok, he's not doing nothing". At that point I left. Thought about leaving the sneakers that Noah had previously taken to the register, but I purchased them anyway. Apparently this conversation was more important than his customer. He lost a commission, and VP lost two customers, my wife and I. read more

They stand behind their products and correct any bad experiences in a timely fashion. A great place to shop for children shoes and other odds and ends. Visited for the first time today looking for work boots for my husband. The style he wanted was not in stock in wide so the friendly young man assisting us special ordered it. The sale items are not deeply discounted and most things are pricey but if you are looking for name brands, those items rarely go on sale anywhere. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they were doing and asked if I needed help without seeming pushy or hovering. I will definitely go back! read more

I stop by Vernon Powell today 5/24/18 around 12:45 looking for a pair of mens dress shoes. I walked in looking around and notice a sales person working on a small display. I also saw one sales person checking out a person at the register. I thought I'll look around for a few minutes. The sales person from the register came across to me. I explain what I wanted. Another salesperson comes over and is directed by the salesperson that first approached me to help me. That second salesperson turns to me and says I will get someone from the back to help you. I am left standing there. The sales person that was working on the display who never looked my way is now helping someone. I stand there thinking what the heck. I decided at that point I guess they don't want my business. The salesperson that gave the direction to another salesperson comes walking over I then throw up both arms and hands as he says sir I will help you. I walked out thinking management needs to better train their help! I spent 15 mins of my time in that store which was a waste of my time. read more

I have to say my experience here was less than stellar. I was one of three customers in there at the time, with many sales people wandering around, mostly aimlessly, and we were there a half hour before anyone asked if they could help us! The prices were over the top as well, when we returned home, I found the same pair of new shoes online for one third the asking price of VP. I would give this experience only one star, but the girl that finally asked if she could help us was very nice. I wish I could remember her name. read more

I visited the Rehoboth location about two weeks ago and I have mixed feelings, which is why I am rating three stars. Because they changed their location, I called and asked for directions. The lady who answered was very rude and seemed as if she was in a hurry to get me off the phone. Once I finally get there, my son and I were assisted by James, who stayed with us for well over an hour and guided us both with helpful information about fitted us in the best shoes we have ever had. I was a bit sticker-shocked because of the prices, but one certainly can't put a price on how much that young man helped us. Thank you, James! read more

The worst service ever. I visited the store 2 days ago. They had a 50% off sale on Alex and Ani bracelets. While at the counter looking at the bracelet stand, I found one that I was interested in. I wanted to read the back of the charm before making the purchase so I picked up the bracelet which was located at the top of the stand. A nasty clerk named Carol walked right up to opposite side of the counter and stated that she had bracelets behind the counter so I didn't have to touch those. I informed her that I was merely trying to look at the wording on the back of the bracelet before I made the purchase and didn't know it was an issue. I informed her that I visit the store all the time and own several bracelets and have never be instructed not to pick up or touch the bracelets. She told me that she was informing me that I didn't have to touch the bracelets because she has them under the counter in boxes. I asked her what difference it made whether I picked them up or touched them and she told me because she is the one who had would have to straighten them. I have been in the store so many times and I have never in my life been treated so disrespectful. I called for a manager because she began to raise her voice and make a scene. Other customers at the counter walked away because of her behavior. I never raised my voice at her. I spoke to another clerk that recognized me as being a regular customer and I requested to speak to a manager. I spoke to Heather and I informed her that I have never in my life been treated so horrible. I had tears in my eyes because I couldn't believe that she treated me like that. Her tone and demeanor screamed that this African American woman was going to steal those bracelets. I felt the discrimination in her voice and in her body language. Please don't visit this store until she is fired. The other clerks in that store are amazing. I have informed all of my friends and family of my experience that day. I'm also writing a letter to the district manager about this incident because her racist tail needs to be fired. read more
