I booked Veronica to do my bridal hair and make up for my wedding. I was a little nervous because I didn't have time to do a trial, but Veronica ended up doing a great job! She came to my house with all her tools ready and took about 1 hour 45 minutes doing my hair and make up. I wanted a natural look for my make up, so I appreciate her not layering it on too much. She's very skilled at updos, and my hair stayed up the whole day. I did find that she is a little slow and scattered when responding to emails, but it was fine for me because we ended up just communicating over text. She had also originally told me she would only need 1.5 hours, so the morning ended up being a little rushed and chaotic. Also, she only accepts cash or check. In desperate need of an expert who understands both color and frizzy, wavy hair, Veronica seemed to fit the bill. Been there, done that with somewhat uneven results...But, some out-of-town plans compelled me to go ahead and make an appointment with Veronica. Nothing like looking in the mirror and seeing gray roots and multiple, unflattering shades of brunette to help me make a decision! When I arrived at her comfortable, private suite in the Sola Salon Studios, she was ready to greet me and get started. No Waiting! That's huge for me. Considering that a color, cut and blow dry can easily take up to an hour's time, I don't have the luxury or desire to add additional wait time...Who does? Starting with the consultation, Veronica listened carefully. She was not only totally tuned-in to what I wanted, but more importantly to what my hair NEEDED! Her color expertise meant no guessing, no misunderstandings, and no mistakes! I wanted to add some dimension to my current flat brown color, but nothing too drastic....Just some subtle highlights. I recently hired Veronica to do my hair and makeup for my wedding on 7/28/13 in Westlake Village. I chose her because I had seen good reviews and really liked her from my interactions with her over the phone and in person at the salon. She was extremely amenable to what I was looking for and what I wanted my hair and makeup to look like. At the same time, she was very helpful with her suggestions and I agreed with whatever she suggested because I trusted her professional advice. I brought her a few photos of updos that I liked and she helped me choose one that we agreed would fit with my type of hair, dress, and overall "look". Her rates are very competitive - I did a LOT of research because we were on a budget but I still wanted to hire someone who was experienced to make me look good on my wedding day! I ended up paying less than $170 for both makeup and hair (updo). In addition, Veronica was very organized, she even arrived early on the day of the wedding so we could get a head start. She was very friendly, and a lovely person to have around on the day of the wedding! I truly don't think I could have gotten better for the price. I couldn't have been happier with how it turned out, and the updo stayed in very well all night, despite some dance floor action! I found Veronica while attending my brother's wedding in thousand oaks. I went to her for an updo and now there is absolutely no one else I will ever go to for any of my styling needs. I drive about an hour and a half to see her and she is well worth the drive. Very good haircut! I used the deal that is advertised on Veronica's website, $35 for a cut, deep conditioning and a blowout. Veronica asked me exactly what I wanted and she gave me good tips and didn't scowl at me when I told her that I color my hair with box color like some stylists do. The one thing about it that wasn't good was that her assistant Danielle (who I think was very new) didn't massage my scalp or really wash my hair, she just kind of put the shampoo on and then washed it out without it even going on my roots. Good thing I didn't work out before going, or it still would have been dirty after. But Veronica was very nice and I will be back next time I need my hair cut! read more

After being with the same hair stylist for 14+ years in the SF / Bay area, I was anxious to find a similar stylist who excels at the full triage of "color, cut and blow dry". I was very fortunate (right out of the gate) to find my way to Veronica's Hair Studio in Thousand Oaks, CA. Veronica has vast experience with curly, fine hair, and is only the 2nd stylist in my lifetime with such a keen eye for color - we went from a dark auburn red which I have worn since my time in the Bay area to more of a coca cola red, which is perfect for my complexion and, in combination with a glaze coat, is simply beautiful. Something as simple as a blow dry is often botched by less experienced hair stylists. However from the start, Veronica provided me with a flawless blow dry that always leaves my curly hair with body, shine and absolutely no frizz. Lastly, Veronica's cut is one of the best (if not the best ) haircut I have ever received - the length is perfect, the edges rounded with no hard ends, and with a very long layer that gives wonderful body without compromising on length.
