I know I need to speak up, but I also wish there were a better system to make sure booked add-ons are actually communicated to the stylist. The receptionist barely acknowledged me with no smile and was talking rudely to the client checking out and didn't check me in for over 5 min of me standing there. After being taken late with no apology, the stylist was rude, rough with my hair when I had tangles and overall just didn't seem like she wanted to be there. It's visibly dirty with broken hair clips on the floor. I will definitely be finding an independent person to blow dry my hair from now on.

Honestly, I walked out of the salon, looking like a movie star. The event was super hot and everyone was sweating, but miraculously my makeup stayed put. Extremely Disappointing Experience -- Management Handled This Terribly…read more I rarely leave reviews like this, but my experience at this Ulta location was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. The night before coming into the store, I specifically called to confirm that I could return an item. The associate looked at my account, confirmed that I had purchased the item, asked whether I still had the original box--which I did--and told me I could bring it in to return it. I went to the store on my lunch break based on the information THEIR associate provided me. Once I arrived, I was told I could not return it. I asked to speak with the manager because I had specifically called ahead to avoid exactly this situation. Unfortunately, the general manager's response was where this experience went from frustrating to completely unacceptable. Rather than acknowledging that I had been given incorrect information by one of her associates and attempting to find a reasonable resolution, she was dismissive and rude. I explained multiple times that I wasn't even asking to walk out with cash--I was perfectly willing to spend the money right back in the store. My frustration was that I had called ahead, followed the instructions I was given, and was now wasting my lunch break because of misinformation from their own employee. When I asked for the district manager's contact information, I was given a phone number that I was told was Guest Relations. When I called, it turned out to be for online shopping, and they told me they couldn't assist me. I called the store back and explained that I needed the correct information because this situation was continuing to waste my time. I even suggested that the manager simply email her district manager, provide my phone number, and have them contact me. Her response was essentially, "We won't be doing that," and then she hung up on me. That is absolutely unacceptable behavior from a GENERAL MANAGER KARA! For comparison, I called the Simi Valley Ulta afterward, and the manager there was extremely kind and helpful. She immediately provided me with the correct corporate number. I contacted corporate, had an extensive conversation about what occurred, and the matter has now been escalated to a Regional Operations Manager. I've worked in retail management for many years, so I understand that policies exist and employees have to follow them. My issue isn't simply that I was told "no." My issue is that your employee told me "yes" before I ever drove to the store, and management took absolutely no accountability for the misinformation or attempted to find a reasonable solution. Mistakes happen. Associates misunderstand policies. But good management knows how to de-escalate a situation, acknowledge when their team provided incorrect information, and look for a reasonable way to make things right. Hanging up on a customer who is asking for help is not customer service. I also spend a significant amount of money with Ulta, which made being treated as though my time and business had absolutely no value even more disappointing. Corporate offered a $10 courtesy gift card, but after the amount of time I spent dealing with this situation, multiple phone calls, being sent to the wrong department, and the way I was spoken to by the general manager, $10 honestly felt dismissive rather than meaningful. I highly recommend visiting another Ulta location. The manager at the Simi Valley store demonstrated exactly how a customer should be treated--kindly, professionally, and with a genuine attempt to help. This entire situation could have been avoided with proper associate training, basic accountability, and professional management.

This review has been way long over due. First off, I have been coming to Veronica for over 2 years now (I had been living in San Francisco before). I was recommended here by my three sisters and mother. Prior to seeing Veronica I would never let anyone touch my hair and I would dye it myself. Well you can only dye your hair yourself for so long until you need a professional to fix the damage you've done. So I came to Veronica and explained to her how nervous I was about someone else touching my hair but that I needed to fix my hair color, my roots were darker than the bottom portion of hair, blotched hair job. Anyways, she took the time to explain the different types of hair dyes and how we could achieve the look I wanted. We agreed on some red lowlights. Let me just say that it only took one visit with Veronica and now I can't imagine anyone else doing my hair. I have been converted. Veronica knows hair. She keeps up with current hair trends and is constantly updating her hair products. She even has a profile of all her clients so she can keep track of what dyes and cuts she has done on your hair, she is very attentive to details. She is also incredibly friendly and funny which makes the process of getting your hair done enjoyable. My review for Veronica is a long time coming. I started going to her several years ago after receiving multiple recommendations for her from friends. Before that, I had tried a few different people at various salons but was never completely satisfied with how my hair turned out at the end of the appointment. Since my first appointment with her, Veronica has become my go-to stylist. Even when I moved to Woodland Hills for a year, I still drove back into Thousand Oaks to see her. Not only is she very personable and easy to get along with, she always listens to what I want and executes it perfectly. She has great attention to detail and even remembers what products that she has used in my hair before that I have liked. There have also been a few times that I have wanted to switch up my hair color and each time Veronica has calmed my nerves and I have left the appointment extremely happy. First off, I live in the Antelope Valley. Palmdale to be exact. Veronica is stationed out in Thousand Oaks. I will travel to the ends of the earth for her! She's amazing at cut and color. Veronica's the bomb! There I was on the day of my prom, stressed out like crazy trying to get everything done. I walk into my appointment 25 minutes late because my makeup took way longer then intended. And Veronica tells me she only has 30 minutes to do my hair, because she had another appointment coming in. Of course, this is where I freak out and pray that she can give me what I want, despite the time constraints. Somehow, she manages to whip out this beautiful curly Taylor Swift inspired side bun that matched the picture that I gave her EXACTLY in half an hour. Salon Rouge is THE place to go for all your beauty needs. I would recommend Veronica Nettleton! She is amazing at what she does and knows exactly what you need. I've been going to Veronica for over 11 years to do my hair. I am a male over 50 and am very particular about my hair. So when I find someone that does a great job I stick with that person. Veronica does an excellent job and will listen to what you tell her you want! She is very nice, easy to get along with and fun. I can be picky when it comes to hairstylists, but with Veronica, I knew from the first time she cut my hair that she was the one for me! She cut it, styled it...even gave me tips! Veronica is so personable and has great customer service. She also can be super flexible and can usually get you in last minute/week of. BUT the brazilian blowout should last a bit 4 to 6 months. At a cost of appox 250 to 350. Not many people I know can spend 350, including color. Every 6 to 8 weeks. I can't. I had to have it redone at the same time I had my touch-up. So, in my opinion, I spent 500$ for a 250$ process on my hair. I'm not sure if it was a lack of knowledge or caring But considering that the reply to a text I sent a few days after the visit and was told some places are tougher to reach so it can behard to reach not come back let me see... Meggie Engelter is not just a stylist she is a master expert colorists and really knows her stuff! Being that my hair had about 3 inches of gray, and old color on the ends, she was patient and listened to what I wanted and she was very honest in her suggestions to me and did not overpromise on the delivery. I am very pleased with my hair color results. I was also impressed with the Cleo Hair Salon as a whole, they are a full service location. In addition to hair, the shop offers mani/pedi, skincare, makeup, waxing - everything. You could easily spend the day there getting services.
