    Desserts!

Stopped in for brunch. Ended up getting bistec encebollado. The guava and cheese quesitos were spectacular!

"Artisan" quality sandwiches to rival anything you'd buy in LA, the bread in particular was crispy toasted on the outside & on the inside it tasted fluffy and fresh baked, wow. You will not regret coming here, do stop by. Some of, if not THE best food I ate during my week long stay in PR. If you are visiting the nearby beaches and want to pack a lunch this is it! My fav is the parabiagio, but that's just me since I love a salty prosciutto and the pungent cheese. Whatever you like, waffles, cheesecake, ham & cheese and eggs, tiramisu, Black Forest cake, I tried some of these other things and they were delicious. If anything on the menu appeals to you, you will find it superbly prepared

My hubby and stopped on our way south. They offer basic coffee, two sizes. It was extremely tasty. I ordered a glazed donut. Different from stateside but still good. Lots of locals and a few tourists frequent the establishment. Bathrooms in the back of the building. Outside and inside seating. The menu is in Spanish. The staff did not speak English. Really glad we stopped here.

Pastelitos (guava), pulverones (shortbread), and coffee

We were American travelers looking for a place to eat in a random area along our route, boy are we glad we found this place! The cashier said she didn't speak English well but she was very sweet and did her best to patiently accommodate us as we asked questions. The menu was fully in Spanish so I asked her what we could get without meat and she kindly communicated to the cooks what we needed. We really enjoyed the pastries and the French toast. She was even so patient with me as I asked about ingredients in the pastries since I have a nut allergy. Coffee was great too!

    All the Delicious desserts!

This little place is soooo good! They have tons of desserts here but also good sandwiches and other meals. Very happy I stumbled onto this places and will frequently come back from breakfast to snacks. They do have some people that are working there that speak English and are every nice. The inside is like you step into the 60's-90's type theme.

If you have 30 minutes to wait for some scrambled eggs go. I arrived and no one was here, but still waited 30 min for my breakfast when I asked the girl gave me attitude.

The food is basic Puertorican staples. The food takes forever to be made. To much chit chat instead of concentrating in making your food.

Very good pastries, and even more pleasant atmosphere. The cashier was very helpful, and it was easy to locate on the side of the road.

We had a long wait, but it was worth every minute of it. The appetizers (sandwiches of ham, turkey, chorizo) were phenomenal. The meat (churrascos and rib eyes) were all prime cuts and cooked to perfection; juicy and flavorful. We were a party of 8 and we were all more than pleased and happy with the food and service. Easy 5 stars . By the way, the place is truly a bakery, but surpasses many named and even recognized or so called restaurants.

***THE BEST CUBAN SANDWICH!***…read more A typical Puerto Rican small town "cafetería", very casual, but cute and warm, with lots of wood decoration. They have a lot of wines, cheeses and specialty hams, very much like Spanish "cavas". They have bakery sweets and sandwiches, breakfasts and snacks like croquettes and such. But they make, hands down, the BEST Cuban sandwich I've ever had. Ask for "pan sobao" -- a slightly sweeter and softer kind of bread. Great coffee too! It's a little too far from San Juan, unless you're headed towards Arecibo to do some tourism, in which case, this is an excellent locals stop on your way. :-) Disclaimer: Please remember Puerto Rico is not big on Yelp yet, since it's small enough for any local to find restaurants, therefore business owners don't advertise a lot and locals have no real need for it. So you see just 1 rating and review here now, but don't be fooled. Compare with my Florida and California reviews if you feel unsure. :-)

To the right a hot-food bar section easy for food on the go and an espresso machine. They offered traditional breakfast items such as eggs, bacon, ham, toasted bread with a butter spread and an array of sandwiches. The first day, we came around lunch and wanted something filling prior to heading into San Juan. I also wanted a cafecito so my mom suggested this gem. We walked in and the place was completely empty, the lady greeted us and quickly took our orders. I ordered a ham, egg and cheese sandwich and asked for the yolk to be slightly runny with a café con leche. My mom a medianoche (Cuban on sweet bread made in house) / My aunt ordered a pastrami. Each came to the table a few minutes later, pipping hot even though a line had formed immediately after sitting down. I knew that was a good sign. All three were each so flavorful, hot, fresh and filling. My sandwich was so satisfying with it's cheesy-egg goodness that the girls wanted to come back the following day! Fast forward to the next day, we all ordered the same ham, egg and cheese sandwich but my aunt wanted it on pan sobao (sweet bread) and both versions were delicious! I also ordered a cappuccino this time and it did not disappoint. Going to miss this cheap, satisfying bakery, will definitely go back next time I'm in PR.
