This is a little stand in a plaza that was plenty busy when I went. They have coffees and drinks, but the flavors seemed to be made with syrups so I opted to focus on breakfast. Service was great and I ordered one empanada and 2 quesitos. One quesito was with guayaba (guava) and one was plain, so just the sweet cheese. The empanada wasn't very remarkable and I would probably skip next time, but I enjoyed both quesitos. Quesitos are so delicious and a perfect pastry breakfast. read more

Try these Mallorcas first when you visit Puerto Rico- simply for the price. Once you try authentic ones, say from the famous Cafe Mallorca, you won't return to this spot despite its awesome location. There is a tranquil outdoor eatery but no outside food... is allowed in the outside eatery. They will wag their finger in your face and make you walk 3 feet to sit at the fountain. Basically, Don't buy french fries from across the street and expect to come order coffee and pastries here- they simply won't allow it. read more

Cute café with all kinds of coffee drinks. It was a hot day, so we went cold, café frío. My iced hazelnut latte was delicious. My boo had an iced caramel latte with oat milk. We thought they were very good. The barista was super friendly, and kindly took time to make recommendations. read more

Cute little kiosk on the square. Nice to stop here on a sunny morning or for a espresso walking break. Cash only. Stopped here for a mid morning break. The espresso is fresh and delicious. I got a shot for $1.40 and it was a nice little pick me up. The pastries are fine but they are frozen fyi (I asked). Brought one to take back and it was mediocre and expensive ($4) for just cheese bread. The line can get busy and there is usually only one worker but they hustle. Super sweet and helpful. Be prepared to not rush. But with a view/patio like that there is no need to rush anyway :) read more

I was interested for the mayorca sandwich that you can see in the pictures. When I got there I was glad to find a welcoming smile from the ladies at the cafe and an amazing smell of freshly brewed coffee. What was an amazing surprise was the quesito; sweet, not too crunchy, not too chewy, moist with a hint of tart from the cream cheese. Paired amazingly with a hot dirty chai, perfect for the comfortable vibe of the decor of cuatro estaciones and the placita. read more

It's a cute little coffee stand in the middle of the town square by the fountain. They have some pastries, but I'm only going to speak for the coffee here. I'm a big Starbucks girl and when I tell you, this is the BEST iced coffee I've ever had in my life. It was strong and flavorful. I just wish I knew what brand of beans they use so that I can purchase them online. read more

Unsafe place! I would give them 0 stars in all areas if I could. I got a 2nd degree burn from this place- do not go here! I ordered a tea that was steaming hot because they use the milk steamer on the espresso maker to make it. I asked for a napkin because I could not even hold the cup it was so hot. While I was adjusting the cup in my hands the top came off on its own and poured steaming water all over my hand. They sprayed something on it and gave me ice (which is NOT what you are supposed to do for a burn). The woman working there said, "We know the water is too hot." I was in the WORST pain for hours after this occurred. Do not go here- I am dealing with a terrible burn because of their unsafe practices. read more

Definitely stop by here if you find yourself in San Juan. This is a small cash-only kiosk that sells tea, coffee, pastries, and various other delights. There is an outdoor sitting area that doesn't provide much protection from the elements but is very well decorated with string lights and plants. Plaza de Armas is beautiful during the day and makes for a great place to enjoy your coffee while reading a book. The service is friendly and inviting, I enjoyed two coffees and three pastries during my stay here. You can taste the freshness of the beans they use in their coffee, which is to be expected in Puerto Rico. Their pastries are wonderful and very well-made. It makes for an excellent place to study as well, and they even offer their own WiFi! read more

The best coffee of our trip, hands down! What a great find, I could not recommend this place enough. Skip every other breakfast place and come here to enjoy pastries, delicious coffee, and a outdoor patio right on a square in old San Juan. Through in cheap prices and it'll make your day! The Mallorca was delicious and a must have, we also had a guava filled pastry which actually is a skip, there was so little guava filling, I was hoping it would be a bold delicious flavor but it really wasn't. Usually is everything is not perfect I would give it a four star, but the rest was so delicious I can't justify anything lower than five! read more

The pastries we got were very good. I found a BEE in my drink though... The only reason we found it was because my dad was using some of my ice for his scolding hot coffee. The lady was nice ish but she was the only one there working so she could only go so fast. It was a very nice place to sit around all the plants and pigeons. read more

We loved this small coffee and pastry stand and ended up visiting it multiple times during our stay in Old San Juan. Their coffee and lattes are strong, made with care, and are delicious. This was one of the places that bf and I ended up at around midnight one night. The Yelp schedule shows that this place closes at 12 am, but that Saturday night we were there, I think the coffee stand was open until at least 1 am. I got a coffee, after having stuffed my belly at nearby Cafe Berlin with tea and flancocho (a flan and chocolate cake concoction). I wasn't even hungry, but I did it in the name of shoving as much local fare in my belly as possible before having to return to the contiguous 48 states. The woman who whipped up my coffee was sweet as pie and convinced me to try a Mallorca, a sweet bread sandwich with guava and cheese (you can get other fillings too). Everything was delicious and uber economical. The coffee is made with no sugar and you sprinkle in as much raw sugar as you would like. Just don't use the spoon that she has for the sugar to do the stirring. She probably will smile at you if you do this and apologize but she'll secretly curse you for making her get a new spoon to stick back in the sugar jar. And no, I did not do this. But she did relay a story about it. read more

Oh my goodness! What an angelic little coffee cafe station with delicious addictive coffee! The pastries were fresh and the Mallorca ham y queso was so yummy. We found this little garden a welcome respite from our sight seeing and stayed hours talking, laughing and people watching, it was one of my favorite places to be during our Old San Juan days, bring cash only and order the latte. This is the place you go to have a cup of coffee or tea and just relax while watching the people enjoying their time in plaza de armas. Its perfect for a quick stop to try the delicious cafe con leche and a quesito. Its always full of locals that meet up there to have a chat during the day. Before you go remember to see the Tite Curet stature thats next to the cafe. He lived in the building just in front and was a renowned music composer. read more

What a cool little spot for a coffee. Located right on a square in Old SJ, it looks like a little photo booth! The service was not particularly attentive, but hey, it's carry out coffee. And what delicious coffee! My wife is a Starbucks junkie, and she liked this better!!! And 1/3 the cost. The square has a great fountain, the 4 seasons, I'm sure after which the coffee shop is named. You sit outside and enjoy...they had pastries, too, but we did not try them. They looked good, though. Definitely worth the trip. read more

They did not have physical menus, had QR codes to scan (I think maybe if you ask them, they might have few physical ones). To start, we didn't order any drinks/alcoholic beverages that morning but they have an extensive list of beverages, cocktails, coffees, juices, wines, etc. to do so, so I wouldn't discourage trying them at all. For food, we ordered the French Mallorca sandwich and the Omelette w/ bacon, potatoes, & toast. Off the bat, it was clear that the French Mallorca was a very popular choice, that sandwich was just good, period (Rating: 8.7/10), soft bread w/ crispy edges, dipping in the syrup was a requirement for this sandwich. On the other hand, the omelette with potatoes, bacon, toast weren't as good. I asked for vegetables cooked into the omelette but it looks like they didn't really cook them down. Potatoes were very good though, seasoned well, honestly carried the meal along with the crispy thick cut bacon (Rating: 6.1/10). I think I really ordered it just as a healthy option, I next time would order something else because they still do have a lot of good option on that menu that I didn't take advantage of. Overall, the service was amazing, very hospitable from the host all the way down to our server. We even had the chance to enjoy live music as a band came in and performed temporarily during our meal. If you are around the area and want to stop by, you have my recommendation. Not bad option at all.

This is a great place to find intellectual locals and writers getting together for great conversations. This is known for their great location in our biggest plaza and is also good for free wifi and people watching. The coffee is not my favorite, and the people do not work very fast or are usually very friendly. They have some donuts or pastries, but not much. They used to be available 24 hours, which was the main draw, but not anymore. read more

This is the best outside seating in Viejo San Juan! Located located in the north west corner of our main plaza, Plaza del Armas, this is a great place for people watching, locals getting together to talk or play dominoes, or just to take a break from walking. The actual kiosk is very slow, expensive, and this have some OK products. There is always a line, and the people who work there are not the most friendly. Free wifi. read more

Extremely rude lady working on the stand. Walked up to us 4 black women as we sat down then told us 'No te quiero aqui'. Meaning I don't want you here. We sat down and offered to buy food and she said she didn't care and said i don't want you here. This happened at 5 pm on 12.14.21. Horrible experience and worst I've ever experienced in 8 years of visiting the island. Never go here. She is lucky we have class. read more

I wanted to buy locally roasted coffee beans for home and this turned out to be the best place to buy them. I bought two 8oz bags, $14 and $15 respectively. Compare that to 787 Coffee that wanted $30 for a similar sized bag (even more for their alcohol infused beans!). Gustos also sold 2lb bags of beans if you really need to make a lot of coffee. Sadly, the roasting date was not stamped on any of the bags. The cold brew coffee was good. The French toast was mediocre -- the bread was sliced too thin, with very little batter on the exterior, and zero saturation inside the bread. The fresh blueberries and grated coconut were nice, but the syrup tasted cheap. My wife had the Gustos and it was delicious. We saw others with avocado toast and it looked tasty too. We bought little bags of dried plantains on a whim at the counter -- turns out they were $3 each. Otherwise, prices were very reasonable.
