The best perogies in the lower mainland - my opinion. I can't even buy anything else as these wrapped pockets of goodness are honestly that good, don't believe me, then it's time for you to get yourself out to this place. I come from Vancouver, and this is not a close drive, but so worth it, especially if you are here on Friday. So what makes them so good... well it's the ingredients they use, and it really shines, also how you cook them, I kept on screwing up until I finally followed instructions on the website and wow...what a difference. Currently we have the German, and Russian garlic perogies in my freezer, and I really can't tell you which one I love more, yet it makes me happy Veronica's is in my freezer. Occasionally they will sell a special flavour, like a Thanksgiving (don't pass this one up) or one I just picked up that is packed with Montreal smoked meat (haven't tried yet... but I have no doubt it is awesome) and then they have all the normal flavours. They also do gluten free, and dessert ones (like apple and blueberry), also selling their sausages, and sauerkraut (which has eluded me the last 3 times I have been in store), and on Friday it is the only day they serve hot lunch's, which means you can order a box of perfectly cooked perogies to eat right away, with or without their pan fried sausages, but be warned, if you finish this box.... which I have had the pleasure to do a few times.... you probably should pull over as this might make you have a nap. And the first time you have the cooked ones, you will eat them all.... I hope to try the sweet dessert ones next time, but definitely a favorite and must hit! read more

I joined yet another gluten-free group on Facebook and noticed someone posted about Veronica's Gourmet Perogies making gluten-free pierogies once a week to pick up on weekends. Apparently they clean their entire kitchen so it's safe for celiacs like me to eat their pierogies. Within 30 seconds of seeing the post, I messaged the business by leaving a comment about how I wish I had known about them earlier because the cut off time had already passed to place a gluten-free order for the week. Within 2 hours, I received a response and they let me squeeze in an order because I live in Las Vegas, USA. Two days later I flew up North and drove our rental car to pick up pierogies after sitting in Vancouver traffic. We made it 20 minutes before they closed and they had my frozen order waiting for me. I saw that they also sell a gluten-free pork sausage for $7 CAD (precooked I believe) and added that to my order. We had a kitchen in our time share so I cooked up the sausage. It was very nice. I brought a cooler picnic basket with me through the airport full of ice. Because I have Celiac disease, I can bring food with me on planes. Security checked it and luckily, the pierogies are professionally packaged, labeled and sealed so I was able to bring them across the border. I believe we paid $16 CAD for 12 pierogies. We got 12 garlic lovers and 12 delux that are seasoned with feta and bacon in the mashed potato filling. The instructions were clear and accurate. They were easy to cook once we got off the airplane. If you're Celiac, preorder from them. I don't know of a single place in the States that even offers gluten-free pierogies, so this is likely your only chance! Visited: April 2024 read more

Veronica is an angel and her Perogies are from heaven! We happened to be traveling to Abbotsford from the states and lucked into running into Veronica's new storefront. My mom and I are long-time Perogy aficionados having grown up with grandparents from the "old country" and Veronica's Perogies truly were some of the best Perogies we've had. Even though Veronica's Gourmet Perogies is actually a storefront selling a variety of ready to boil/fry Perogies, it's not a restaurant. However, Veronica upon hearing we were from out of town, told us to sit down and proceeded to make us the best pot of boiled and fried Perogies we have had in years. OMG!!!!!! I bought a dozen (Deluxe) Perogies walking by on the way back to my car after the Langley Cruise In in September. I just made them for lunch today and could not wait to give them a 5 Star review, I'd give them a TEN Star review if I could. I live in Langley and I will most definitely be going back for more... and more... and more... and more.... I grew up in Alberta and remember fondly watching my Mother & Grandmother making Perogies and not being able to wait to eat some. Veronica's Perogies are every bit as good. Decided to stop in here after friends said the perogies are amazing. They weren't lying. They have gourmet flavours such as Curry and Mexican but the German ones are unbelievable (sauerkraut, bacon and potato) You can get them fresh or frozen and take them home to cook. Highly impressed! read more

I heard about this place online and decided to give them a try. The beet soup is some of the best I've ever had. The dill flavour is front and center just like I remembered it. Additionally, I ordered various perogies. The German ones where just as good as my grandmothers and the ones with just sauerkraut were better then I remembered. The cabbage rolls are simply phenomenal. They are delicate yet hearty and pair wonderfully with mashed potatos. All in all, some of the best Polish food I've ever had. I will be back! read more

The other reviews are no word of a lie. These are some of the best perogies I have EVER had. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat, but don't want the usual pizza delivery, then stop by Veronica's and grab a couple dozen. There are so many flavors to choose from. My personal favorite is Deluxe however Curry and Pizza are also delicious. read more
