Well all I have to say is yum!…read more Well that's not all I have to say. Doing a not so strict keto, but I still tried the baked beans (just a taste) very different. In fact I'd like them better then Texas beans. Texas Does a Charro bean which to me is not beans.. The brisket was flavorful moist, mostly lean with a very thin fat cap. Pulled pork was finished up perfectly with a touch of Carolina vinegar.. The ribs were awesome. Had a nice labor. I got the end of moore center cut guy, but they were still good a little dryer than I like because of the end but I guarantee you if I would've got the center they would've been beyond perfect. I would highly recommend coming and giving it a chance when it comes to true barbecue this is about the only place around here I have ever dined that that was on the money.. Beer, wine cider, sodas, lots of sides and great food

The brisket was absolutely top-notch--tender, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal…read more 6 x 1/2 pound 120.00. The coleslaw, unfortunately, was pretty bland and disappointing, especially considering the large order cost $18 and looked more like a small 10-ounce serving. We also never received the cornbread, so I can't comment on that. My husband did enjoy the mac and cheese and said it was very good. Our total came to about $195 with food, tax, and tip. Based on our experience, I'd recommend ordering the meat from here because it's excellent, but making your own sides at home. The brisket alone is well worth it but still pricy, but the sides didn't justify the price.

We found this place totally by happenstance, and so glad we did…read more So it's the 4th of July 2023 on our way to Fort Casey. With a little time on our hands we drive into Anacortes since we've never really been there, only passing through to catch the ferry. Realizing it's the 4th, we happen to catch the tail end of the Anacortes 4th of July Parade. At this point it's around if not after lunch time. Well with crowds and traffic we go on a walk-about in search of food and not more than a klick from our position we find this nice little lot by the marina with some food trailers. Choices, choices, choices, those being Chinese food, BBQ and Gourmet Hot Dogs. First choice was the dogs, but the line was a little long for us. So we went with BBQ...again glad we did. It was a bit of wait, since it had just opened not to long ago, some folks already waiting and one person doing food prep, cooking, taking orders and running the till, he mentioned waiting for someone else so help was on the way, but he did great, and the wait wasn't that bad. So for lunch we had one beef brisket sammy, two pulled pork sammys, one topped with coleslaw and with other with mac-n-cheese and beans on the side. First the sides, both probably one of the best I've had, no seriously. I'm not a real big mac-n-cheese guy, but this one was damn tasty. I love that I could tasted the cheese and it was not weak in flavor. I thought it was as good as if not better than that one Pike Place Mac-n-Cheese place. Then there was the beans, OMG, those baked beans were no joke...awesome! I so wished I'd gotten more of that. Then the sammys: The brisket was so tender, so juicy with some excellent flavor. Not smothered in BBQ sauce, it was just the perfect amount and tasted so good! The pulled pork sammys were excellent, lotsa pork with the perfect amount of sauce so they complimented each other flavor-wise so it's not all BBQ sauce you taste. Bottom line, some DAMN GOOD BBQ! Some restaurant's idea of BBQ is to take meat and cover/drown it in sauce-ugh. i.e. Applebee's bottomless riblets (only thing going for it is that it is bottomless-but it's nothing more than BBQ sauce with meat texture....I digress). Anyhow, the next time we are passing through, this definitely will be a stop. Surprised not to find it on YELP so I had to add it myself. It was that good! Now hopefully you can support a local small business and get some excellent BBQ too!

They operate as Mission Horse for breakfast and lunch and it changes to Embers for dinner in the evening. We've gone for breakfast since it changed ownership and breakfast is still good. The dinner was a disaster. We were the only customers there and after our meal I can understand why. I've read other reviews and I concur with their comments. I had 12 chicken wings and a small order of French fries and my husband had the half rack of ribs. I waited over 30 minutes for my order of chicken wings and fries (I think our waitress forgot to put in the order as my husband's food arrived before mine). My husband's 1/2 rack of ribs was the smallest that I've ever seen. The ribs were not very meaty and there were 6 ribs maximum on the order. I would guess that it was on 6 or 8 oz. of meat covered in what tasted like a bottled barbecue sauce. We had to ask for silverware. I had a can of pop and had to ask for a glass to drink it in. She disappeared and never came out with the glass. I went to the kitchen and asked them for a glass. My husband asked for a refill on the coffee and after waiting l0 minutes I got up and started towards the Kitchen to get the coffee. Our waitress finally appeared with the coffee at this time. It's unfortunate because the breakfasts are good but to spend 1 1/2 hrs for dinner at a diner is unacceptable. My husband told our server that we were very disappointed in the level of service and explained that he was not leaving a tip because we received no service. I hate to see what the service would have been like if there were more customers. It is a very small casual restaurant
