I am claustrophobic and looked for options to have a cervical spine MRI completed so I would not have to take sedation medication or lie flat on my back. This staff worked with me to help me get completed quickly and without having to lie back or down. The staff is excellent here. I would recommend them to all of my family and friends. I was able to get in after a couple of weeks when I called to make the appointment. They informed me that I had to lie flat for my hip imaging. The staff was very kind and empathetic to my anxiety. The only negative for me is that it is a tight fit. If I were any bigger, I don't think I would have been able to squeeze in. My doctor ordered an MRI for me. I've had them before but, being claustrophobic I can no longer go in the tube. So I looked around for an open, stand up machine in the Louisville area with no luck. In fact there the closest is this one in Mishawaka. We had been trying to get up to Amish country so it seemed like a good idea to combine this with that since the cities are only about 30 minutes apart. The staff here is really nice and very helpful. Nicole makes the appointment, gathers the information and checks you in when you arrive. Liz is the Tech that conducts the tests. The MRI machine is open, very comfortable and somewhat quieter than others I've been in. If you are claustrophobic at all this is where you want to go. read more

I wish I could rate lower. This is absurd. I can not lay down for an MRI I am known to stop breathing, this is why my doctor was sending me here. I needed and URGENT MRI FOR POSSIBLE CANCER. They called scheduled the appointment for 2 more months away I questioned that but they said that was the earliest for an urgency ? OK , well 2 more months down the road the day before I was to be there, they call and say they cannot do it ? Why? well we recommend you have it done in a hospital because you have had cancer. What ? You call 2 months later to say this ? OH but they tell my Doctor it is because they do not do abdomen MRI. Funny how when they called to schedule it they scheduled it for a ABDOMEN MRI. So now we are wondering just why they are lying ? Plus why do you wait 2 months to call to cancel ? Now you have risked my life and I probably I am going to die now because of you, because you did not do your job. DO NOT GO HERE NOT EVEN IF YOUR DYING THEY DO NOT CARE.. By now this cancer has spread and waiting the 2 months is what gave it time to spread. read more

I'm a Canadian citizen that needed a stand up Mri of my back as a laying position didn't show the issues that I have. I spent several hours trying to find a specialized centre that did standing and bending and sitting position. When we looked at the site it spoke of vertical mri and we saw pictures on the Facebook site of standing positions and even on the business card they show a standing position . I called to tell them I specifically needed a standing and sitting mri. The receptionist assured me that yes I could receive this mri. I spoke to them a few times. When I called to book the appointment I asked again to make certain I'd have the standing and I was told yes. I had a five hour drive one way so I had to stay overnight. I had the cost of two mri's plus hotel etc. When I arrived I had to wait but I thought it's ok I will finally have results to all my pain. When it was time to have my 2 mri's I was told they don't do stand up and that radiologist would have needed to set it up and that had not been done there for years. I told her I specifically asked for it when I booked my appointment. Kelly apologized but said I could do sitting and bending. I was very upset that I had been lied to on the phone. When I was done the receptionist said we sent a message to your doctor that we didn't do stand up. They did not call me and say we can't do it or obviously I would not have gone. I was the person booking the appointment and paying. Why would the receptionist tell me they could do it. Are they not trained? They're were other issues with the place. I called the manager and I was told that I had a great price given to me so she didn't want to compensate me. Really!!! She blamed the person that they do the marketing about pictures showing standing mri. Guess what when we were in the office they had a newspaper article that was framed and advertising a stand up picture . My husband took a picture of it and showed them false advertising. They pretended like they didn't know anything about it. t the end of the day bring several thousands of dollars spent Nobody cares but me as it's no sweat off there eyebrows only me. Please please read before you attempt to schedule an MRI at Vertical Plus. They first read the doctor's order incorrectly (without contrast) and when I questioned the use of contrast, which I knew the doctor prescribed, they called me back to say the doctor did indeed order the MRI with and without contrast. Nicole said she read it wrong and informed me that instead of my 2:45PM appointment I would have to be there at 8:15AM because of the extra time involved in an MRI involving contrast. I woke up at 2:30AM and drove 250 miles through bad weather to make the appointment. After my check in, Patty the XRAY tech came out to get me. Before I even left the waiting room she informed me that my shoulders were to broad for the 18 inch opening in their machine. In conversations with the staff including Nicole they were aware of my size. Patty was matter of fact, not taking into consideration that most people attempt this type of MRI do to claustrophobia. Which after seeing the MRI can not figure out, it is extremely narrow. As Patty explained you are pulled back 2 1/2 feet into this narrow space. Of course I had no choice but to listen to their lame apologies and drive the 250 miles back home. read more
