Had my first visit to Vessel Floats today after getting a $100/month unlimited visit membership. I was greeted & had the options explains. Was served a venerate with tincture that is intended to assist your "mellow" and shown to the shower/float room. Well outfitted with ear plugs, shower products & lotions...then into isolation. I chose darkness with instrumental music. About an hour later, feeling well rested, the light & voice cues let me know time was up. Showered. Dressed. Back out to reception where I was given a warm green tea (tea, coffee+ are your options). I wonderful retreat. I highly recommend a visit! read more

Okay so not sure where exact to start. My heart wouldn't allow me to give this place 2 stars but.. What I learned most importantly was that this experience was not for me and i would NOT recommend for people that are a little germaphobic! When I first walked in the room it smelled like strong b.o. which I think was the first step. My instructor was pain staking-ly mellow if that could be a thing. Almost felt like I was talking to a robot cult leader. Back to the room, I did like how it was stocked with decent thoughtful products but not sure how much I cared to use a communal face oil. I was shocked to know that they DONT CHANGE THE WATER even though it did do some kind of cycle after which made me feel a tad better I guess? DEF wasn't going in there full nude though. The water was also a bit cold imo but apparently it's part of the experience. The speaker system in my unit didn't seem to work well. Also the ear plugs were just not good in general. By the time I finally could get myself relaxed enough to try and float I was about half way thru when low and behold a nice long strand of blonde hair floated right onto my chest. Overall it felt like a very beginner meditation but I will say I am probably a bit more experienced than the average. Ya! It was my first time trying a sensory deprivation experience and vessel floats made it really lovely. At first you walk in, they provide you with a menu so that you may choose the prefloat tonic. I thought it was really interesting, I picked the euphoria one. Tasted like a nice tea and was a beautiful color, I'm guessing from the butterfly pea steeped in it. The adaptogens has a bit of a bitter taste but it was warm and not off putting at all. Then you choose your float experience. I had a hard time deciding between full sensory deprivation or a guided meditation. I did the vessel of love but it was good to know that if I wanted to, I could turn off the lights and the guided mediation at any point - which I did and it was lovely. The room was very clean, they gave me the steps I needed to wash and exfoliate my skin before hand. All their products are le labo and smell amazing. After floating you pick a drink to reflect and I choose the chai which was the safest bet in my opinion in flavor. Besides instruction there isn't much interaction with the staff but they were helpful if ever needed. I think it's a nice treat to yourself to decompress after a stressful week. I do think the 80 dollar entry for first time floaters should be the overall price for all however. Especially since the experience is just an hour. read more

So happy I found this place! I went yesterday with two friends for the first time and wow, what an experience! The vibe as soon as you walk in is immensely relaxing. We were greeted immediately by a staff member and directed to some comfortable couches. There we were asked to pick out an adaptogenic tea and to set some intentions for our float. The staff member guided us through the process of what the float would be like, asked our preferences for in-float music, and shared with us what to expect both during and after our float was completed. She then walked us to the back, showed us what one of the rooms looked like and we were on our way! The room is spacious and the float tank itself is gorgeous! I found the entire thing very easy to navigate and they really had everything so nicely laid out. Ear plugs were available just in case and they even included a head rest if you preferred to use one. I felt very taken care of- which was helpful because I was anxious! Turns out I had nothing to be anxious about because my float experience was so relaxing. As you exit, you're instructed to shower with their suite of Le Labo products and then continue getting ready in their vanity area which had a Dyson dryer and a number of hair products, even ones for Black hair! As we came out we were greeted with another round of delicious drinks and told that we could debrief in the seating area for as long as we would like. A beautiful experience!! read more

What I got: 1 Hour Float - First-Time Guest (~$85) - with Euphoria & Matcha Rosa drink selections Aya's take: I decided to treat myself to a float session for my birthday and opted for the sensory deprivation option. Before that, I was greeted by Arturo who walked me through what I was going to experience in 3 stages. The first is the "Dose" where they give you an adaptogen-based tincture to open your mind and elevate the trip. I chose the Euphoria option as it stood out to me the most. The next is "Float" where you can choose sensory deprivation or immersion. I opted for deprivation which is how it is intended to be. I like how you can adjust the light to your preference which helped me adjust to the deprivation aspect. It took me a little to get used to but by the end of it, I was floating in the nothingness which was incredible. Finally, the "Reflect" is to reacquaint you back to reality. I chose the Matcha Rosa which was honestly one of the best matchas I've had and the genmaicha were these popcorn-like pieces which I loved. The hours are to float from 8 am - 9 ish pm is perfect , and allows options to float any time during the day- evening, The private rooms, are spacious, clean, and have body wash , hair conditioner and charcoal wash after your float, The owner thought of everything, you would need to have an awesome experience Floating a few times within a week, keeps me in balance, in the moment and floating in the early evening, helps with a sweet slumber I highly recommend adding floating to your self care routine !! What a unique and surreal experience! I've always wanted to go into a sensory deprivation tank, especially after watching Stranger Things and this was a birthday present. Not knowing what the expect, the front desk personnel explained everything clearly. Each room is private with a shower and good quality products. Once in, they ask you to take a shower and then go into the warmed deprivation 'tank', it's more like a room. That's when you start floating, I chose to not have music. It's pitch black, adn many times I was floating in and out of consciousness. I believe I fell asleep for 5 or 15 minutes, you really lose a sense of time. Once the timer is up, the lights come on and you go take another shower. This is a must try at least once in your life. read more

By far the best facility I have ever experienced and the best overall crafting of the experience. Rosa was our host and went way above and beyond. A last minute emergency made me late and I stressed all the way there. My friends were kind about it but the best was Rosa who cooled me out immediately and managed to create our float experience only 5 minutes shorter than it was intended to be. It was the best. This is the best float place in NY! I had injured myself a bit while working out and I searched for float tanks to assist with my recovery. This place caught my eye with its vibrant design and minimalist decor. Upon doing some research, I discovered that an architecture firm designed this place! The vibe of every area is so perfect and chill. The lounge has these bright yellow chairs which greet you with positivity after you emerge from your blissful float session. Inside the float room itself, the black walls set a somber ambiance for solo relaxation and reflection. Prior to even getting into the float room, you are greeted by friendly and helpful staff at the front. If it's your first time, they will offer you lots of guidance to make sure that you are comfortable. You get to pick: a tincture to enhance your intention before your float, guided audio journeys (optional) during your float, and a soothing drink for after your float. Unfortunately they don't offer the pre-float tinctures due to the pandemic; I would've liked to try that out! The walk-in style float tanks here are 7.5' tall, so you can climb in easily and not feel claustrophobic (in case you have such anxieties). I've floated dozens times in the pod style tanks, and I can definitely say I prefer the walk-in style much more. The float experience helped me decompress and relax my mind and body. Coming out of the float, I showered again with their fancy Hinoki soaps, which hit you with a therapeutic forest scent. Every detail of this place was planned out meticulously, down to the soaps. I definitely found my favorite float place. All this being said, I highly highly recommend everyone to try floating at least once in their lives - especially at this place. A phenomenal experience. From the moment you enter, it's all about the details; not one step of your visit is overlooked in thoughtfulness or design. Some of the magic is better left to experience than be described, I couldn't recommend Vessel Floats more highly. Aside from the challenges, I imagine, of opening this kind of business in the midst of a pandemic, it's worth mentioning that there is more than ample space for social distancing. Considering there can only be a few clients visiting at any given time, you aren't crossing paths or sharing close space with other visitors. VF's website details the actions they are taking to keep everyone safe. This offers peace of mind when it comes to the float tank, etc., making it obvious that this is a safer alternative to the typical spa experience. Reception is warm and concise in explaining the process, and as you're walked through the details, you feel taken care of, but not hovered over. Commencing with an elixir to help set your intention (one of the extras included in the float price), I tried "Euphoria," which was both amazing to look at and drink. After some time in the lounge, you're led to your suite, where the float is further explained. The low-lit rooms are spotless, beautifully appointed, and include a selection of La Labo products, as well as in-house tools to prepare for your time in the tank (please sell the charcoal scrub!). Having never floated, I wasn't sure what to expect. The tank is large and inviting, with high-ceilings and sensory options to accompany you through the experience. I chose the sound bath, which seemed to help rid any anxiety in getting used to being without external stimulation, something not easy to come by in NYC. I preferred the total darkness, but there is also a Kubrickian star ceiling option. After your float and a shower, you're received in the lounge for your post-float "reflect" drink, time to relax and adjust. Check out their perfectly curated library of vintage books on consciousness, if not to take the time to read, to admire the iconic covers and artwork. Christian and Vessel Floats have elevated the concept of floating and taken it to an entirely modern, wellness and self-care experience. I can not wait to return. Vessel is a really beautiful spot! Been meaning to leave a review for a while. My first time going was with a voucher my friend got me for my birthday, and my second time was with a sweet friend I told about it who had a voucher to spare. Both times were great, but the second was particularly incredible. **Note that if you're a bigger person who runs warm, you should ask in advance for the heat to be turned down!** My first time I experienced mild discomfort because the water was too shallow to fully float and the continued heat of the floor made me shift around a bunch. Still relaxing, but not quite as comfortable. The second time with the water cooled a bit? I was able to really let go and wash away to a new place in my mind. Felt things in my body relax that I didn't even realize were holding tension. Added to the experience is the very kind and accommodating staff, who help you w/ your pre & post drinks, and remind you of the controls/amenities. Both times I felt very welcome, (which can be a toss up in a bigger body in wellness spaces), and prepared to rest. And the menu offerings are great! I personally loved the Euphoria so I've had that twice to begin. My first visit my post drink was a warm and comforting turmeric drink (reminded me of cornmeal porridge), and my second time was a delicious mango slushie. The le labo products smell absolutely divine. Right now more of a treat myself type of place ($$$), but wishing & hoping someday I can make attending sessions here a regular practice for myself. During my session, I got some of the salt water in my mouth, and spat it out in the tank. The owner then accused me of releasing "male love juice" (not kidding) and revoked my membership, citing that they had to change the water in my tank after my session, which apparently is not regular practice. I repeat - THEY DO NOT CHANGE THE WATER BETWEEN EACH VISIT. Absolutely repulsive. This is what the owner told me DIRECTLY. I also told one of the employees that I had taken a responsible dose of some soon-to-be legal plant medicines, the type of which are popular with this community. She immediately went to her boss and told on me. If you are one of the many who pair floating with plant medicines for introspection and reflection, this is definitely NOT the place for you. I understand they are the low-budget option in NYC, but you really do get what you pay for. Absurd and offensive accusations and (worst of all) unsanitary. Avoid at all costs! read more

What a cool experience! It you need a place to reset.......... here is your opportunity. I chose the one hr package. The room was amazing it is equipped with a beautiful shower and other toiletries. The room also comes with a few towels ( they think of everything). Now be prepared to float in a warm salt water bath. They have a small floating device I will keep your head above water as well however it would be really difficult to drown there you would physically have to try. After you are all done they provide you with a refreshing drink that you choose before you go into your room and they give you a cute gift at the end (if you want to know what it is you'll just have to go).......I would highly recommend. read more

I decided to try out this trend but I quickly learned that it was NOT for me. I would describe the ambiance in the lobby as dystopian and cold. The receptionist did not help either. We received our drinks which just tasted like watered down tea, then was led to my private room. I found the wax ear plugs very distracting; they kept falling out and while placing them back in, water got into my ear. I did complete sensory deprivation and floated for about 10 minutes before it got old. I guess it was relaxing for those 10 minutes but then again so is lying on my couch. Water got into my eyes and started burning severely. I splashed around in the dark trying to find the door. I had so many thoughts like- what if the apocalypse was happening outside? what if I died in here and no one realized until an hour later? What if I just fell asleep after the session ended and someone thought I died and barged in on me naked? (still pondering these questions).The experience was more anxiety-provoking than anything for me. Also, I found out that they do not change the water in between floats...is this sanitary? In my opinion, the whole thing is a scam- can just dump some salt into your bathtub and call it a day. I will not be returning... read more

*feeling very refreshed* let me start by saying that going into this I was fully terrified. I didn't know what to expect, I thought being in my head for that long was going to be so scary and of course thought I would feel claustrophobic. Leading up to the moment I stepped into the float tank I was anxious. Leaving this experienced was pretty life changing and I can say that I would like to be able to do this once a month. When you arrive you are greeted by a friendly face and a very relaxed atmosphere. Your tea order is taken and you are given the COZIEST socks (to keep). Before your sessions starts you can get a quick little walkthrough about some options for your float experience (music, lights, sounds/no sounds). Given that I was a little nervous about being in complete silence they suggested I do sounds or music. I chose to do no sound because I wanted the full experience but I believe you have the option to turn them off or on during the float. Once you have picked your options, you are taken to your room where there is a place to sit, fresh towels and high end toiletries (shampoo, conditioners, body wash, lotions, earplugs, and a charcoal pre-float body wash). You are asked to shower beforehand obviously and they give you petroleum jelly for any cuts or scrapes. In the tank you go!!! The floating tanks are massive - I'm 6'2 and I could move around comfortably. The lights are on and there is an audio playing to further prepare you for the experience. Once the audio is over the lights will slowly start to dim and once they are off it's completely dark, there are no sounds and you are fully floating - like zero gravity floating. It took me a minute to get into the silence but once you break through that it is a truly magical experience. Every thought that came to me was easily acknowledged and/or discarded if it was negative. I have never been able to get refocused during a regular meditation once my mind wonders. Something about this experience opens a door to that ability. It is an hour long which felt too short because by the end of the float I felt like I wanted to stay in for a few hours lol. The lights slowly turn back on to get you re-acclimated and an audio turns back on to walk you through the next steps. I'm skipping ahead because because it's hard to put the experience in words but I left feeling like I had just taken the longest vacation. So relaxed, so unbothered and so recharged. 10/10 would recommend. Pro-tip, do not touch yours eyes during the float and when you sit up lean you head back so water doesn't drip in your eye. read more

My new favorite place to decompress. I booked an experience for myself and my partner to celebrate his birthday. We had an amazing time. From the music to the adaptogen-based tinctures to how much care went into the interior design, I could not have imagined a better facility for floating.
