I brought it in to Kelly's for a maintenance check, tire rotation, and oil change. Drop-off was easy. I came by early, filled out the envelope (bring your own pen), and dropped the key into the box. I was then able to walk home. After inspecting, they sent a link with the findings. Not unexpectedly, there were a lot of accumulated problems. I never got the impression that they were padding the estimate; I believed that what they found was accurate. I called to discuss options. I wanted to weigh putting money into the repairs and getting a few more years of life from the vehicle versus the cost of having to buy a new car now. During the call, they were quite reasonable and did not pressure me. In the end, I opted to proceed with the repairs. They completed the work in a timely way and called me to come and pick up the vehicle. I have now driven it for over a month and it seems to run well. While significant repairs are never a joy, I liked the way I was treated and would recommend Kelly's to others based on my experience.

You can tell they not only have 'official training' and all the toys to do a great job on figuring out what is wrong and repairing your car, they have the thing that is harder to measure but much more valuable - experience. They have worked on new cars, old cars, red cars and yellow cars... little humor there. My air condition suddenly stopped working. I was fearful of a big bill. They started with the basics, checking freeon, it was low... so does that mean a leak? Instead of charging me to do all the tests and colored ink to find a leak, they did the simple blow and pressure test, and refilled with freon. So my total was under $200, on what could have been $500 at another garage that was all about testing and labor and driving the invoice up. A week or so later, I started hearing a sound with the air and took it back in. They hooked it up to a machine and did the dye test and refilled with freon again. No charge... 'let's see if it leaks again, if it does, we'll know where". So far so good. I just thought what a great group of regular guys you can trust.

As a walking stereotype of a victim (young/single/female) I am always on the defensive in auto shops, but I've worked a lot on cars from changing a distributor to tearing apart the entire front end of a jeep, so I know nonsense when I hear it. Also, as I have a foreign car, I am particular about who I let work on it (as not all mechanics are familiar enough to do the work efficiently/correctly). These guys completely negate the stereotypical notions of auto shops. They weren't excessively friendly, meanwhile trying to swindle you out of every penny, they were direct, and honest. I like that from a auto repair shop. As long as I am in the ATL area, they will be my go to. One last comment: another review mentioned the state of their establishment as being unsatisfactory. But I appreciate that it is not a posh establishment. If it were, the customer would, in turn, pay for it. They spend money where it counts. Quality mechanics, tools, and parts.

Alysia on reception was amazing, professional and courteous she explained the procedure to check my transmission to me. The whole team of mechanics treated my vehicle impeccably and undertook a full car inspection as well as the transmission issue. They diagnosed a few minor vehicle items that would need attention in due course and showed them to me in person and educated me fully. I was so impressed. I did not require any transmission work and they showed my the liquid with minimal metal pieces therein. What a a relief. I didn't tell them that I was having a difficult time getting stopped and that I was pressing hard on the brake. I also didn't tell them that my car would rev up when stopped sometimes. They figured it all out when I took my car in. My brake pads needed replaced, my spark plugs needed replaced, and my idol throttle needed cleaned. It all made perfect sense to me.
