Great lakefront park! Residents only during spring/summer season. Friendly staff. Amazing sunrises.

I'm not a resident so the only time I get to enjoy this park is on Wednesday night concerts. It's a beautiful park with a awesome view of the lake. There is a play area for kids, a beach and looks like places to go fishing.( I'm not a fisherman). The band shell is very nice and there is a place to dance. The people who attend the show do mind their p's and q's so that's always good no trouble. The park is very clean. There is a nice parking lot across the street .

    Tranquility at its best.

I was here momentarily with my husband for the very first time to watch the fireworks by the lake. We were turned away by the park rangers because we're non-residents. I would give them a zero star rating if possible. Their website said they welcome both residents and non-residents, so they're obviously not following through with what they've promised. We drove about 30-45 minutes to get here and did not let this ruin our night. We parked down the street in the parking lot of St Paul Catholic Church's and walked to the lake front. The view is amazing; it's absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking. Although the sight is breathtaking, be sure to watch out for bird/geese/duck turds lining the whole lake front around this time of the year. I can't leave a zero or one star because the lake is beautiful and the fireworks on the lake front were phenomenal! This has been the longest and most fulfilling firework show I've ever seen compared to anywhere else I've been to. This was my first time here and I wouldn't mind returning to the lake front. We are going to avoid going into the Veteran's Memorial Park because it's NOT friendly to non-residents. Oh wait, we couldn't even go inside even if we wanted to!

    Waiting for things to start.

Always a great place to just sit outside and enjoy the music. Except people here have to pile on top of you when you are sitting. We had a family that sat surrounding us with 10 kids screaming and running around (which is fine if you aren't on top of people).

I love this residents only park, but the waterfront does get kind of crowded. Try to go when nothings going on because the music in the pavilion ruins the peace. There is a kids water play place, playground, and you can rent free horseshoes, bocce, and shuffleboard stuff. There's a boardwalk, benches, picnic tables, etc, literally on the water.

We enjoy going to concerts at this park. The music is great, the food trucks are good and the setting is beautiful right on the water!

Ok so I know this isn't a business, but I still want to review this underrated gem in Eastpointe…read more Spindler Park is a very well maintained, safe, and pretty park with three pavilions, a jungle gym for kids, a soccer field, a sledding/climbing hill, tennis courts, horseshoe courts, shuffleboard, and disc golf. They also have bathrooms in the summer and port-a-potties in the winter. There is a walking trail for you and your (leashed) dog that measures about 1/4 mile (I think). Plenty of picnic tables and shade, and water fountains by the bathrooms. At the if the summer last year I was lucky enough to catch the butterfly migration south and I must have seen a few hundred in the trees beyond the soccer field where the disc golf route extends. It was magical. Overall, a great, safe park to get outside and spend some time.

This park does not have as many features is the other Park such as Kennedy Park but nonetheless it's a great little city park. Like I posted in the photos during hunting season I come here and collect acorns for the deer. They're in the summer a lot of events are held here. Last summer my Cub Scout Pack 1909 had to camp out here I felt very safe and secure and there was even an indoor restroom available to use they also offer a nice Pavilion with electricity if you were to have a family reunions and or picnic here. There's also a nice little walking trail and even a huge pills to go sledding on in the winter if I remember correctly they do have a small play area for the kiddos as well. Nice place to go walk your dog and relax.

Everything about the Grosse Pointe Park parks is first rate with one exception. The tennis courts…read moreat Windmill Pointe Park are just pitiful. They were resurfaced about 3 years ago and still look brand new. But, that is because they are completely unplayable. Whoever resurfaced those courts left air pockets that substantially effect play on all four courts. If you are a 3.0 player or above I would recommend finding another place to play. The problem for us GP Park residents is that they converted the Patterson Park courts to Pickleball courts leaving us without a playable tennis court in all of GPP. It is crying shame that those managing a park system like ours cannot find a solution to this problem.

I still remember as a kid swimming around the adult pool when it wasn't adult time and watching this bigger guy we all lovingly called Boblo boat swim around the perimeter of the pool by using his hands as wheel to pedal around the pool and do his laps. It was also the first time I saw the fool horror of the red Speedo from the slicked backer tall guy that would walk around proudly by the pool, only taking a dip to cool off some. This is where I took my tennis lessons as a kid. This is where I learned to fish over by the harbor piers. They have improved the community center and it's now a nice Tompkin's center and a great communal spot to watch movies. It's great for renting for parties and gatherings. I don't live in GPP any more but I have many friends that still do and thus I still am able to visit this wonderful park that holds so many fond childhood memories for me.
