We have been wearing our K9 Dug shirts since we bought them last year, and we get stopped all the time by people who compliment them. They make us happy. And then I MEET DUG IN PERSON!!! It was like meeting a celebrity for me! lol. Beyond that - the food is always great. Fun to watch the cornhole games. Listen to the music. I highly recommend coming out to support the VFW and enjoy Freedom Fest.

You'll find live music, delicious food vendors, rides, pet adoption service and fire work on the last night, etc. This year, it was nice to see new vendors added to the food line up. Joe's lobster shack, House of cupcakes (winner of cupcake war) & Porto brick oven pizza also joined and shows off delicious food! Of course, 'ole time fav such as giant turkey legs, fried oreos, riceballs, empanadas, Southern boil at JD's, tropical drinks, etc can also be found right here as well. Joe's lobster shack's lobster rolls are at $15 with huge chunks of lobster meat, sooo delicious! If you have a sweet tooth, must try House of Cupcakes truck. Cupcakes are $3 each with several choices to choose from. Strawberry short cake, Boston cream cup cake, etc. It's always a good time when you can stroll the neighborhood on a cool summer night to grab deliciousness!

I was looking for a rental hall to host my sister's baby shower and found New Milford Elks Lodge a…read moregreat candidate when doing a simple google search of the area. I easily found contact information for booking and was able to schedule a visit to see the space in person for the next day. Upon meeting Richard, we were told that they charge one set price, about $400, for less than 75 people, and then about $500 for more than 75 guests. They allow you to bring outside food or have your caterer cook in their kitchen, but do not allow you to bring any drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.. even water. That was the first downer. We asked if we could put pitchers of tap water on the tables, and he said no. I thought this was a little ridiculous, but his reasoning was that their rental prices were set low, so they needed to charge for drinks to make a profit. We were also told we were not allowed to tape anything to the dry wall, which greatly limits the amount/type of decorations you can use. A short contract was handed to us and we were on our way. We were allowed to set up the night prior to the event. They have standard round tables and rectangular tables for your use, including chairs, as long as you can set it up yourself. In terms of the round tables, I thought they were in fair/good condition, but the chairs they had came in 2 different colors (brown and black) and really threw off the aesthetic since they didn't all match. We made due with what we were offered. On the day of the party, communication between us and Richard fell extremely short. We were not told when we could set up, so we arrived about 1.5 hours early to the start of the party to set up assuming someone would be there to let us in. No one was there, so we were left to wait in the parking lot until the bartender arrived. Once the party began, we were told that we were going to be charged the higher price for more than 75 people because we set up a 10 tables, which is 80 chairs when put 8 per table. The bartender went on to explain they can't count heads, so they count how many chairs we set up and that he would have to communicate with his manager in order to decrease the price back to the lower price. This is understandable, but if this was clearly communicated to us, we would have been happy to set up only 74 or so chairs.. which would leave a table with less chairs and would look odd. After some discussion, we were able to get things sorted out and cleaned up at the end of the party. On the positive side, the parking lot has ample parking and they clean up chairs/tables at the end of your event. For what it's worth, I think this space did the job, but I would hesitate to recommend this elks lodge to a friend.

Came here for the first time recently for my cousins graduation and everyone had a blast…read more It is almost like an elks club environment , just without the bartender, it's BYOB...and the hall is pretty big...there is a ton of space inside. It offers tables for people to sit at, an area for food to be served, a dance floor and enough room for a DJ. Since there is no bartender, you can hire your own. This place also has a small bar area for he or she to work at and a place for guests to get their drinks from. Everyone had a great time and would personally be keeping this place in mind in the future for anyone who needs advice on where to have a graduation party or host any event of that kind.

The person in charge of rentals was very helpful. I was given a referral list for catering, music, including a Bag Piper, & Town & Country Rentals, who are familiar with the organization's space. The Muth Museum is located in the historic district of Paterson, New Jersey adjacent to the Great…read moreFalls. The museum is on the second floor of Hinchliffe Stadium on the southeast corner. It is a National Historic Landmark since 2013.. Admission is free. The museum showcases Negro baseball, Paterson's elite athletes and the history of Hinchliffe Stadium. The stadium opened in 1932 and became the homefield for the the New York Black Yankees. Legendry players who played at Hinchliffe Stadium included Larry Doby (a Paterson High School standout, first Black player to enter the American League (Cleveland Indians, July 5, 1947), Hall of Famers (Josh Gibson, Monte Irwin and Jackie Robinson) also played in Hinchcliffe Stadium. Probably the best shortstop ever the play the game, Honus Wagner (1933) played for the Paterson Silk Sox. Twenty "Hall of Fame players" played at one time or another in Hinchcliffe Stadium. Aside from baseball, Hinchcliffe Stadium was also the home of midget car racing and Paterson High Schools major sporting events. The museum has historic photographs, baseball memorabilia, and many other interesting displays. As a baseball fan, I was very excited to see the museum.
