There are multiple trash cans, multiple bone benches and enough trees to provide shade. It has a very nice double-gated entry area as well as a brick or concrete base. At one time it looks like it had wood chips but now it mostly just has natural ground covering.

They have a small dog side and big dog side, but if you bring your big dog/puppy to the small dogs side, most people are usually okay with that as long as it's not too aggressive in its play. Both sides have pretty big areas so they have room to run, run, run. And bring that's it's a public park as well, it's all natural, with grass, dirt, and even gophers. Not much in shade; there's a couple of trees on each side. A couple of tables and benches, too, but that's it. Water stations on each side are good. Both sides have little dog obstacles/ramps for them to exercise on. Overall, it's a really good dog park, and the size is one of the biggest, if not the biggest dog park, in the county.

The dog park does have a parking area right next to it unless u want to walk through the park. They have two areas for the dogs- small and large. The small dog side is pretty decent size with water fountain, bowls, and doggie bag dispenser. It's pretty clean. It has a few agility equipment items. We tried the ramp and it was super steep so u need to run to get up it. It was a Tuesday morning so only one other dog not interested in playing but we sniffed until our hearts were delighted. There were more dogs on the big dog side. There is a little grass on the small dog side which is nice where as the big dog side is almost none. Overall this is a nice park to bring your pups!

Benches near the playground so you can watch the kids play. Ample parking. Situated very close to the Silver Strand Back Bay Park and an easy walk to the Pacific side. No restroom facilities. This is a great park to avoid the crush, play with the kids and then back to the state parks all without having to be on a major road. DOWNSIDE: No dogs allowed.

But I never made it in. I walked around the immediate vicinity to ensure this park was the only dog park area, since I saw 2 dogs (a rottie & pit) in there, and someone laying down...didn't wanna go I guess. Welp that was it, as I approached the dog area w/my dog on leash the pitfall started barking, so the person got up and started going through her stuff. The pit continues barking, but the tail wags a bit....But then the lady comes over with a leash and clips the pit. I asked her if the rottie was dog friendly - no clue what she said. She then puts the handle portion just over the fence post. I told her that's not secure nor safe, and she mumbled something I couldn't understand. I think she went to get another leash, but I told her that's okay we would leave as I don't feel safe with her dogs. The rottie ran along the fence line barking at us (rolled down back window) as we drove out - I guess they were mad we didn't come play.Not sure if you can make out the pit in the photo, he/she isn't big, but I don't want need any problems for my dog or myself. - especially if the dogs ganged up on my dog or me. I don't believe in breed targeting/discrimination, so the fact that these two are deemed "aggressive" breeds by society's standards has 0 bearing here. Just wanted folks to be aware of this lady. It's hard to make out the pit, in the right corner. Without this lady (I feel like she's a consistent customer here), I'd rate this place a 3-star since it does cover the basics.

One of the oldest parks in the South Bay. Been coming here for years, there is 2 of them in between…read morethem there's a restaurant. Both parks are good for parties & hangouts & BBQ's. When I was a kid most Easter's & Birthday parties were here. One park has a pier to fish the other has a loading deck for boats. When I was a teenager I came here as well but not for family gatherings but to hang out with friends. And it's a good spot to bring girls late at night & you know....play BINGO in the back seat :) the first park has alot of parking spots for that. Now that I'm a dad & family man I come again for birthday parties & also just to hang with family to grill & see the low riders on weekends. My favorite reason to come tho is to see the Sunsets with my daughters, have a late picnic, listen to music & just watch the sun set, love it. Me & my family's favorite park in the South Bay hands down. Now with the Gaylord Resort next door the park looks better & is extended. Needless to say they've made some big changes in the last nearly 40 years. Plenty of picnic tables and park benches throughout the area. Some on full sun some shaded. Of course the big feature of this park nice boat launching ramp. On my last visit I saw a squadron of pelicans fly past several times. Each time by the time I got my phone out they were gone. They usually do a good job keeping the grounds and restroom clean.

This is my favorite dog park. I drive from 20 to 30 minutes away to come here. It is completely…read morefenced in. It's good sized. There is a small fenced off area inside the park for small dogs. They come in and clean every day at 1:30 pm (the dog park is closed for 20-30 minutes). It's inside the mall so you can pick up any items you need after your dog is tired out from the fun they will have at the park. It's also very cute! There is sand and astroturf for the dogs to run on.

Such a good time!!…read more ​This is a newly renovated park that is perfect for families! The pirate-themed play structures are super cool, and the kids absolutely enjoyed running and climbing. There are plenty of activities to choose from, including a splash pad, sand play, a huge grassy area for running or flying kites, kayaking, and fishing. There is also plenty of shade for both kids and adults at the picnic tables, but there's also enough room to bring your own pop-up tent if you want. I did see porta-potties on-site. I am hoping they are just there temporarily for a restroom renovation, but no one in our group needed to use them, so I didn't get close enough to see if there were any signs posted. ​ The parking lot has plenty of space for a normal day at the park. I imagine if there is a big event or multiple birthday parties going on it could get full, but it was fine for us. ​The park was incredibly clean, and my kids had a blast playing with the other children. No bullies or mean kid vibes at all, so shoutout to the parents! We will definitely be back and will come even more prepared with props to play next time.

I visited this park last weekend, it was my second time. We went hoping to see wildlife and we…read moresadly saw very little. We were there mid-day which perhaps wasn't the best time. We took the longer trail, the one that goes by the base and it was frankly not very interesting. Some parts smelled bad due to brackish water. It would be much better to run this trail if you're into fitness, or ride a bike. The trail ended at the slough with views of the river and Mexico. The trail was out and back and it would be nice if it could do a loop instead, hopefully plans to build a bridge are in the works. It would also be nice if the trail could connect to the beach. There's a small visitor center with exhibits and the rangers we talked to were very friendly and helpful. Parking is free and there are no fees to enjoy this park.
