Countryside Veterinary Clinic - Right when we walked in to the first door of the clinic on the left. This shows how little respect the place has for our pets.

The only recommendations I have is when you unfortunately have to say goodbye to your pet there should be a special room to do it in. Not the regular office visit room, and it would be helpful to have some type of back door exit to the business. So if you have to say your final goodbyes to your pet you do not have to leave walking out through the waiting area in front of other people and their pets. And if you choose to bring your pets remains home with you to give them a proper burial, they are also brought out through the waiting area in front of other customers.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this veterinary office, especially during my cat…read moreSinatra's illness and final weeks. Years ago, I initially brought Sinatra in because he was urinating outside the litter box and showing clear signs that something was wrong. The practice owner evaluated him, but kidney disease was not diagnosed at that visit. Months later, after his symptoms continued and worsened, I returned and another veterinarian performed more thorough bloodwork and acknowledged that the kidney disease had been missed previously. Fast forward to the last several weeks of his life: I contacted the office repeatedly over approximately three weeks because his condition was declining and I was trying to get him seen before things became critical. Despite this, the only appointment option ever offered was a last-minute opening with roughly one hour notice. That was it. I understand emergency hospitals and Tufts exist, but the entire reason I kept calling his regular veterinary office was because I was trying to avoid putting a chronically ill cat through the stress and expense of emergency care while his condition steadily deteriorated. Ultimately, we had to euthanize Sinatra elsewhere over the holiday weekend. Maybe the outcome would not have changed. But between the missed diagnosis earlier in his disease progression and the lack of meaningful support or effort during his decline, I cannot honestly say I felt this office provided the level of care, urgency, or communication that a sick animal and grieving owner deserved. Still waiting for a call by the way.

You tell me that not only are you going to perform an entire exam*,do blood work*, perform unnecessary painful x-rays*, and who knows what else you're doing or NOT doing because I am not there with her, but you will absolutely not allow me to come in to hold her while you euthanize her.....ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??????!!!!!!! She is my daughter and there is no reason for you to do any thing other than let these poor babies have their last moments in the hands of their loved ones!!! I went directly to Franklin and I had absolutely no issue with going in and holding my baby the entire time and staying with her for I don't know how long. It was so difficult to leave her. You are supposed to UNDERSTAND that they are our FAMILY MEMBERS!! Where the heck is the compassion and empathy for the loss of a family member? Dr. Sandler is rude and extremely mean towards the animals and I have on several occasions heard her screaming at the dogs in the kennels to "shut up" like that's going to make a difference. Then she will go in and kick the cages. She is rough with the animals. Dr. Susan Adams-Conley, I'm afraid that you're going to lose your business if you don't replace that nasty woman!!! I can not recommend anyone who is looking for a veterinarian to go to you for the reasons I mentioned above. Your facility also is in desperate need of a major makeover. I have always had a really great experience with Dr. Adams-Conley. I also have to say that your prices are actually really high compared to what the other veterinarians are charging. *All you want is MONEY!!

My 16 year old cat had several chronic conditions and had been throwing up every seventy two hours…read morefor 9 months. My vet was not cooperative and I seemed to have to justify the decision to put my cat down to her when she could not give me options for treatment or even a diagnosis. Frustrated, I called Lap of Love. They were such a relief. The first time I called the woman who answered was very kind and compassionate. But I chickened out and didn't actually make an appointment. My cat then had a scary incident that made me convinced that I had to do this and I called back. The man who answered was great and got me an appointment within 3 days. I didn't have to justify the decision. I didn't have to get records and PROVE I had a basis for the decision. They did ask for the cat's vet but I am unsure if they called them. I am a little different and I did not want to be around during the procedure. My cat is not the type to be comforted by me. I worried that might be a problem. But it wasn't. The doctor called me before the appointment and told me she was coming and she was on time (very important when you have spent three days just trying to keep your nerve) and kind. I was allowed to step out of my home (I had worried she might tell me I couldn't do that due to liability issues of leaving her alone in the house) and she came and got me when done. She left me a paw print cast of my cat and a locke of hair. Thank god for this service. No one wants to do this but it was a relief not to have to fight for the service when you are using all your strength and backbone to make the decision in the first place.
