This place is anything but cranky old men complaining about the war. My first experience here was completely surprising. I came for the Friday fish fry with my father and the nugget, who was a baby at the time. During Lent, this place is PACKED with people on Friday nights. I could not believe it. While waiting for my fish to arrive, I got a glass of wine at the bar. I thought I misheard the price...nope I didn't...it was soooo cheap compared to a bar or restaurant. After I bit into a nice meaty piece of fried fish, I was hooked (buh duh cha). The fish fry continues all year long...not just during Lent. Don't like fish, no problem. They have Italian Beef sandwiches, hot dogs, and fried shrimp. The price of your meal also includes coffee, and cake for dessert. You can't go wrong. Don't forget to bring some cash for the raffles. They usually do a 50/50 raffle, and some other thing. For Valentine's Day there was a delicious pork dinner and a band. For St. Paddy's they do a corned beef dinner. High suggested! The location itself is very wonderful. I grew up coming to this place for birthday parties with my friends. The location to this day is still very organized, clean, and friendly. As for the laser tag itself, they did recently upgrade their guns and they are awesome. I love the shield mode and all kinds of new features. I do have criticisms though that should be addressed: 1. As a regular client, the location is starting to get boring. People know all the secrets, all the lights, all the traps, etc. Can you please consider changing the floor layout every so often to avoid tedium? 2. The decorations inside the arena are starting to show their age. They all look great, but a lot of them are no longer functional. I think upgrading the decorations in the arena would be awesome. 3. The "towers" are a really cool addition to the laser tag games, but the blue tower can be guarded very easily. Unlike the red and yellow towers, there's only two entrances into the blue tower and it can be almost impossible to get points taking it down if two good players are camping there guarding it. 4. The obstacles are barrels and walls. I think it would be cool if the arena had more variety including different shaped barriers or more things to avoid. 5. There's 4 interactive shootable lights around the arena. I think it would be really cool if there were more of those to shoot at. 2 of them turn on lights, while 2 of them just give you points. Overall, LaserX of Addison is wonderful and I'm so happy that the location is still open. I am just on the fence with the upkeep of the arena. The laser tag system is great, but the arena itself does need some improvements. There's not enough updates to keep people wanting to come back to see what's different.

The building itself is oldskool and homey. Like your grandparents basement bar/rec room. Overall, I'd recommend their public events if you want an opportunity to go meet some new people and get out of the house.

I was here on Good Friday since I had the day off. I made my gaming partner go early because those times were discounted and boy, am I glad I did! By the time our 90 minutes were up, the place was getting PACKED. It made my heart happy to see so many families doing something active and together! Like I stated before, I have been coming since it opened, and I appreciated in this visit that the instruction screens were updated, some of the rooms that we not working on my previous version were up and running again, etc. I also appreciate an upgrade to their reward system! Before, they used to hand you items (a water bottle, a basketball, etc.), but now you earn coins and can "spend" them on the items of your choice. I prefer that so I can pick items that I will actually use! (The aforementioned water bottle and basketball were donated to my local charity shop.) I chose a personal bracelet that Activate uses to track your time and points while you are actively participating in the games. The facilities have bathrooms, access to clean drinking water, free lockers to protect your belongings, etc. This time, too, I wore my fitness tracker for kicks and giggles and I burned almost 500 calories in 90 minutes of fun. I wish they offered a summer pass or a monthly pass like other entertainment options in the suburbs.

I recommend wearing casual or active attire because you'll get a workout for sure Each game room has a variety of levels and different types of games within that room. The cost per person is cheaper Mon - Thurs. $20.99 for 60 mins. $26.99 for 90 mins. Fri - Sun it's $26.99 for 60 mins and $38.99 for 90 mins. For Mondays and holidays, it's best to check back because the prices do change. I highly recommend booking on the website instead of blindly going there. The slots fill up fast. The games are short so you don't have to wait long to go into that room. The room types are arena, climb, grid, hoops, mega laser, hide, control, mega grid, strike, portals, and press.
