The store itself was very clean, but not very easily organized. I'd still go back as they had good selections on artwork.

Not the best Goodwill that I've been to but it serves its purpose…read more This store has the usual things you find at most Goodwill's: clothing, shoes, lots of knick knacks, household items, kitchen supplies, some decent books, lots of CDs that no one wants - all for a more expensive price than you will pay at a regular thrift store. I would have been much happier with my visit today if I could have tried out a lamp they were selling for $8. It was a decent used heavy-bottom adjustable swing arm lamp that could be rotated and turned into many positions. I planned to use it for reading sheet music and books. It was probably worth about $25 to $30 brand new, so I would have purchased it if I could have plugged it in and try it out. I couldn't find a receptacle anywhere in this place, everything is covered with wall plates. When I asked an associate for help he informed me that 'they test all appliances before they are tagged to ensure they work before putting them on the shelves. If you want to test the lamp out you need to purchase it and try the lamp at home. If it doesn't work then to bring it back to exchange it with another one or something of equal value.' What the hell is that?? So basically if it doesn't work, I'm basically stuck with the lamp because there no other one here like it or anything else in the store that I actually want equaling $8. After that encounter, I basically said the heck with this place, I'm out. One other observation of the store before signing off, it is a bit messy when compared to other Goodwill's I have been to recently. Especially where the kitchen supplies, household items, and knick knacks are. Everything is just kind of thrown in there together. I might give them a chance if I happen to be in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

I used to volunteer a lot, then got out of it as I got older, and was happy to have volunteering put in the forefront of the news with Disney. I knew the volume of people signing up for events, and was pleasantly surprised when I painted a house with Hands On Orlando. The day consisted of painting four houses, with 100 volunteer expected. The HOO coordinator was very organized, arrived early and was very friendly. There was a HOO coordinator for each house, and one who monitored the whole project. They were very clear in their directions, and made a very humid day painting a house in not a great neighbor hood a great experience. Being an annual passholder for Disney, I wasn't worried about the processing time for the receipt of the Disney voucher, and yet it was in my email by Tuesday. Its kind of sad, the coordinator said that the month before, for the same event they had only twenty volunteers, and now all their events are full. While we appreciate all the Disney is doing to help communities, I sure wish more people would volunteer without having to be bribed, and I can't wait til we do it again!

Amazing organization! I love the Hands On network!…read more When I lived in Nashville, I frequently volunteered with Hands on Nashville to sort and create bags of groceries for those in the area living with AIDS. I was also a captain for Hands on Nashville Day, where we painted and spruced up a local high school, and even helped out at the animal shelter a few times. When I moved back to O-town I was super excited to find a local Hands On chapter. There is truly something for everyone here. Whether you like to work with your hands and get dirty, or just sit and hang out with some at-risk kids, or play with the puppies and kitties at the local shelter, Hands on Orlando has a huge network of opportunities, linking you with others who share your passions and organizations that run on the support of volunteers. To sing up, they keep things super simple. Log on to www.handsonorlando.com, create an account, then click on the calendar, and click on the event you wish to volunteer for. A quick sign up and print off of the waiver (or your coordinator can give you one at the time of the event), and you are good to go! The volunteer coordinators are super fun and work well with the organizations to ensure a smooth-flowing but fun volunteer experience. Since I've been back in Orlando, I have had the pleasure of volunteering with Coalition for the Homeless, Clean the World, and even the City of Casselberry through Hands on Orlando. This is a great way to get to know all the awesome local groups that take care of our community. I encourage everyone to find at least one Saturday morning a month to give back in 2015!

I pulled up out front and walked inside and was greeted almost immediately. I explained to the woman what I had And she had me pull around to the side of the building to make the donation. Everything went very smoothly and I was very happy with the experience. While I was inside the store I did see that they had a lot of merchandise for sale with some of it being brand new while other was clearly used. I didn't really have time to look around much, but I could definitely see check in this place out to see what they had available in the future.

First off, let me say that I'm really confused on how to review this location. My intention was to…read morehead to a "restore" and when I utilized the directions button for the Florida Mall location, I was sent here. So, there might be a bug in the direction link. I stopped on my way there making sure I clicked the Florida Mall store in the Yelp app, but each time, I was sent to this location. (After getting there, I realized that I was at the wrong place.) Also, I think there was another store in the area previously where some of the photos might have been taken, but perhaps this is the newer store? Anywho, this was a store, I think ... however, it doesn't look like some of the photos in the initial reviews. From some of the photos, the place looks larger and more organized. This place was small and had a bunch of things but not things that I could use. I'm not knocking it by any means! This place helps out many people who are in need of basics. I was just on a hunt for possible flooring and doors. (I had heard from friends that they found windows, doors and flooring left over from new builds. I just don't think they are at this location.) They do have doors, but as it was just me shopping, it was hard to mull through them in the warehouse as they were stacked and my back is roughed up from a wreck I was in a year ago. It was also pretty dark in that area and the floor was plywood and I just wanted to be careful where I was walking. They do have furniture, etc., and again, if you are in need, this place can help you out. If you are looking for more homebuilding or newer items (possible left over from recent construction), this probably isn't the restore you are thinking of. Either way, Habitat is a wonderful organization and I'll try another location as its a win-win for all involved.
