I am truly dissatisfied with this place for several reasons. First, they seem overwhelmed with the…read morenumber of animals and are seriously understaffed. When we went to adopt a dog we felt a connection with, we were alarmed to find that he had just been neutered, yet they rushed to hand him over along with post op medication. The dog's paw was bleeding and had visible lacerations, but they failed to inform me on what happened. We also found out he had a contagious illness that could jeopardize my other pets at home. When I asked questions about the dog's condition, the staff were dismissive and quick to provide paperwork without addressing his health issues. After bringing him home, he became critically ill that very night, we took him to a 24 hour vet hospital. Turns out he is a very sick dog. FYI there are no vets available at the Seminole Animal Shelter on weekends so if they tell you their vets will take a look at the pet if the pet falls ill just know this doesn't apply to the weekends. This lack of transparency and care put my other pets at risk due to the pets contagious illness that they knew about and I am extremely upset about the entire experience. I will not be recommending this place to anyone.

On September 9th, my family adopted two kittens, Aren and Delle, from this rescue. We were told they had recently recovered from an upper respiratory infection and were now healthy. Unfortunately, less than a month later, our sweet Delle passed away on October 10th from FIP -- a fatal illness that likely developed from an infection that hadn't fully resolved. We followed all the recommended vet care and sought immediate treatment the moment she showed signs of illness, but despite every effort, she declined quickly. It was a deeply traumatic and heartbreaking experience for our family -- and for Aren, her sister, who is now grieving as well. I want to make it clear that I deeply understand and appreciate the mission behind animal rescues and the challenges they face in caring for so many animals in need. My intention in sharing this isn't to criticize, but to hopefully encourage more thorough medical reviews and communication before adoption. Even small improvements in diligence could help prevent another family from being blindsided by such a devastating situation. I emailed the rescue on October 11th, not in anger but simply to inform them of what happened. Unfortunately, I never received a response. Delle was deeply loved and is deeply missed. I truly hope that sharing her story leads to positive changes for future adoptions -- and to more happy, healthy forever homes.

I love my new family member so much and he is happy and healthy! The staff there is nice but quick and very in and out. I wasnt askd many questions before adopting, which made it easy on me however i felt they should get to know the adopter better. My dog when rescued had all shots was neutered and everything which was great! But he sadly did have fleas and tape worm (which i wasnt told.... I found out once we got out of petsmart and i saw him scratching and with dry flaky skin). These are cmmon and minor issues found in shelter dogs but i wish they would have been more open with me. They did let me foster him for the night to make sure we were a match- and we were!! The fee was very resonable at 150.00 but ranges from 100-350.00. Make sure to take your new dog to the vet no matter what! (They come with a free check up, sample flea meds, and tons of coupons to the store) Overall the staff of volunteers cares about the pets and i am very happy with my puppy and the decision to adopt. ALWAYS SAVE A LIFE AND RESCUE! Dont shop, adopt!!
