My mom lived at Atria for over three years and she loved it!…read more In fact, we tried to move her closer to where we live, at another assisted living place, but she had too many complaints and wanted to go back to Atria. She often said, "There's no place like Atria!" The current chef is top notch. My mom says it's some of the best gourmet food she's ever had. She said that the chef has been trained well and is the best Atria has ever had in the three years of her stay. She also made really good friends with many of the staff, a few of them she considers like family. We checked around many assisted living places and Atria also is one of the most affordable around. We were really surprised about this because it's one of the nicest looking, cleanest and friendly facilities we've visited. In fact, now, with the new remolding, it resembles a top notch five star hotel. I'd like to thank Atria for providing my mom a great place to live for the past three years. We are grateful that such a place exists and hope that anyone looking for assisted living would give Atria a visit and see for yourself this gem of a place. Sincerely, thanks, Andrew Kong Knight

My mother lived in the independent/assisted living wing at Atria WC for almost a year. She was…read morecontent. One of the reasons we chose it was because she really wanted an outdoor space, and enjoyed many flowers on her balcony as well as visiting birds. The care, cleaning and dining staff was very friendly and helpful to her. However, when I requested that the nurse reevaluate her because she was beginning to need more assistance, she told me she'd visit my mom the next day but she never did. That was 2 months ago, (and my mom passed 1 month ago.) In general the reception and administration staff seemed very unorganized and unreliable. One of the main reasons we moved my mom to Atria was for them to check on her if she didn't show up for meals. They did sometimes but it seemed very casual. On Mother's Day, when mom hadn't responded to any of her many texts, I called for a well check at 1PM. It was too late. My mom had passed away sometime in the previous 24 hours. How do I know? State of her body. No activity on her cell phone for over a day. And with investigation we found out she had not been checked on by Atria staffe since lunch Saturday, despite having not eaten the next three meals. Hopefully my mom passed peacefully in her sleep and didn't suffer as that's what she wanted. We will never know for sure and we are very saddened about about this. We hope other families don't experience the extra grief of learning their loved one has been ignored that long. We have been told staff has had retraining on the check in procedure. I hope so! PS I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because like I said my mom was content and she loved the staff she interacted with. The extra star is for my sweet mom.

Choosing a memory care home is never easy, and after visiting several places, I felt that Concord…read moreRoyale was the right choice. I was looking for something smaller, more personal, and as close to a home-like environment as possible. What stood out to me right away was the ratio of caregivers to residents; 3 caregivers for about 12 residents, which creates a level of attention and care that is hard to find. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Connie, the executive director, is attentive, kind, and truly cares. We immediately felt comfortable there. I visited frequently, about five times a week, at different times of day, and consistently experienced the same level of care. The staff was attentive, supportive, and genuinely present. I always felt at ease knowing he was in good hands. The food was also very good, which mattered a lot, as he really enjoyed his meals. I would especially like to recognize Miguel from the memory care unit. His care and presence are truly exceptional. He has a natural gift for what he does: compassionate, professional, and deeply attentive. He truly stands out because he genuinely cares, and you can feel that in the way he shows up every day. I always felt I could rely on him completely, and his support made a meaningful difference. I'm truly grateful for the care and environment provided here.

I actually left a good review for your place and was just saying what we have been dealing with. You told her i shouldn't have put what she has etc but this is not some hippa violation this is saying what we went through as a family with her. So I'm not sure what you were trying to do with emailing So far this place seems nice and the staff there seem nice too! My ex partners mother moved into the memory care unit here and was told they got her to shower! Which is amazing because she would get physical and argue with her daughter and I to not shower. She has a room by herself right now and they have her get up in the AM to sit in the living room with is great so she's around everyone and not isolated in the room. She never wanted to do anything we would try to get her to come out but she just wanted to sleep all day. So far she's played bingo, they got her to shower and change her clothes. She would get mad at us for having her change but I'm glad they got her to. She would pretend with us when she didn't want to do anything that she can't walk or she's weak but she's really strong she's climbed over a metal baby gate, pounded on windows and has left the house, police involved so it became harder for everyone to take care of her because she was always trying to leave the house and she has dementia. Here they said she was full of energy and danckg to music which is great because we could not get her to do anything! Right now she does not have a roommate, kinda afraid when she does get one how she will treat them but the staff there I'm sure is well trained to handle that. She speaks English but pretends to only speak Tagalog and they have Filipino caregivers there which is good because they speak Tagalog! She's made comments that she will run away but it's locked with a code so she's safe and can not leave. So far this place seems great. When she went to visit the brother in Texas he said the first week she did great and showered, ate etc with no issues and then it went downhill after that. Hopefully she continues to thrive here and I think the routine and activities are helping keep her busy. Her son Glen brought up some alarming stuff to Grace he said he found out from a while back but I'm sure they have fixed whatever issues and the staff seem caring and attentive. When we moved her in the staff were friendly and caring. Much better than the place in Castro valley that Eden hospital sent my mom to for rehabilitation. ( they almost killed my mom) To the staff here just becareful because she has been violent and is smarter than what she makes herself seem and we've seen here watching when they put the code in the door! She's mentioned she's going to run away too. It's a good thing Gloria is there because Grace looses patience fast with her mother and the people there are better trained to handle her Just be careful too because she will say she's being abused and scream for help. She did that and thankfully neighbors saw but staff should be aware I couldn't say anything when Connie came because her daughter told me they will deal with it if it happens there but that's something you guys should know too!

From the moment she arrived, the staff made her feel welcomed, cared for, and supported. One of the biggest benefits was having Amy and physical therapy services onsite. During her recovery, it was incredibly convenient and comforting for my mom to simply go downstairs to the gym and attend her routine therapy appointments without having to travel elsewhere. Amy was truly exceptional. She challenged and encouraged my mom every day, pushing her to work hard while always believing in her ability to recover. Her dedication, expertise, and unwavering support played a huge role in helping my mom regain her strength, confidence, and independence. I also want to recognize Lucy, who provided my mom with so much love, encouragement, and support throughout her stay. Lucy's kindness, patience, and genuine care meant the world to our family. She treated my mom with dignity and compassion and was always there with a smile, a helping hand, or words of encouragement when they were needed most. Another standout aspect of Oakmont of Montecito was the incredible activities program. Gianna does an amazing job creating opportunities for residents to stay active, engaged, and connected. From social events and outings to creative and wellness-focused activities, there was always something fun and meaningful happening. These activities not only kept my mom busy but also helped her build friendships and truly feel part of the community. The dining experience was another highlight. Lisa and the entire dining staff were wonderful, always providing exceptional service with kindness and genuine care. The food was consistently delicious, and the beautiful dining atmosphere made every meal feel special. Beyond the amenities and services, what truly makes Oakmont of Montecito stand out is the people. The residents quickly became friends, and those friendships brought so much joy and companionship to my mom. The warm, welcoming environment lifted her spirits, gave her a sense of belonging, and helped her thrive during her recovery. I would also like to recognize Arianna and Molly who helped me find an apartment for my mom in a time crunch.  The apartment was so lovely and clean - it helped my mom feel at home during her stay. Oakmont of Montecito was truly a blessing for our family. Not only did my mom receive the care she needed during a challenging recovery, but she also found a vibrant community, renewed confidence, and lifelong friendships. Thanks to the incredible staff and residents who surrounded her with support and encouragement, she is in a much better place today. We will always be grateful for the positive impact Oakmont of Montecito had on her life and our family. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the many other staff members whose names I may not have mentioned. Please know that your kindness, compassion, encouragement, and care did not go unnoticed. Every smile, conversation, helping hand, and act of support played a role in helping my mom heal, regain her confidence, and get to where she is today. While I may not remember everyone's name, I will never forget the impact you had on her life and on our family. For that, we will always be grateful.
