I proceeded (which was a mistake) because of Caliber's reputation, though this should have indicated deeper organizational issues. Upon vehicle pickup, my key fob was no longer functioning properly. My initial assumption was a battery issue -- not fault by Caliber -- and I replaced it myself when I arrived home. The lock and unlock functions still do not work, despite the key functioning normally when the vehicle was dropped off four days earlier. When I contacted the location, there was no urgency or clear path to resolution. I was instructed to come in after hours so they can take a look at it and call ahead to confirm they would still be in office. I called as instructed, but no one answered and the voicemail was full. The following day, I was told my call was "expected," yet no one attempted to return my call or confirm availability. Notably, the location had no issue answering after hours and calling me when it was time to pick up my vehicle just the day prior and collect payment. I was ultimately advised that they "did not touch the key, just the bumper." I reviewed the signed agreement, which states Caliber is not responsible for damage to the vehicle or personal property left in the vehicle. My key fob was in Caliber's possession during repairs, not left inside the vehicle, and was fully functional at drop-off. I also asked whether cameras near the drop-off area could confirm I locked my car using my key; that question went unanswered. As someone with a business degree and background and experience in management and service-based industries, I found the lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through concerning. What began as a $1,600-$1,700 repair has now resulted in nearly $2,000 in expenses within a single week. While the repair quality met expectations, the customer experience, communication, and issue handling at this location did not.
