Let me give you an example, Norma Bujanda would complain my mother used too much electricity. My mother had one night stand light, a tv and a computer with a mini fridge in her room. The electric she used was about 8 dollars/month. Norma Bujanda would go into my mothers room and yell at her, berating her to the point my mom had to cover her ears with her hands and then started crying. APS was called multiple times. She came up with every excuse she could and made it a hostile environment to force my 86 year old bed and chair ridden geriatric patient out. She complained to me how she didn't get enough money for the room and I believe that was the reason for why she did what she did to my mother. Norma Bujanda comes across as this nice caring lady, in fact in my opinion she is the exact opposite.

No place is perfect; however, they do test every employee and resident to make sure if someone tests positive or is sick, the immediate protocol is to secure the location and ensure each resident is cared for individually in their room during the quarantine period. I am very impressed of everything that has been upgraded by the new owners. The residents are given a choice of menu items at lunchtime and the hallways have been refurbished for a fresh, modern, inviting look. Most of the building is still being renovated by updating most of the fixtures, vacated rooms, and common areas. I am elated when visiting Mom who seems to be very comfortable and satisfied of the employees who care for her daily. Her health and safety are my main concerns by the people I must rely on and trust to care for her who I have made an effort to know each one of them. They have improved satisfactorily in the last 3 1/2 years at this location compared to the many years Mom had been a resident at an old Sunridge location that was closed down three years ago. Their rate for assisted living has increased due to the economy but is well worth it considering everything that has improved for the betterment of everyone - employees and residents.

The manager bullies the residents, the food is HORRIBLE, needed repairs (air conditioning and plumbing) are ignored, and the weekly apartment cleaning is sub-par (when we moved my dad out, we realized just how incredibly filthy his apartment was). My dad suggested changes, was vocal about needed changes in the service he was paying for and was rewarded with a termination of his rental agreement while he was suffering from pneumonia. Solstice Senior Living corporate was also made aware of these circumstances, on several occasions, all of which were ignored. My dad has moved to his own little house and is much happier! Do not subject anyone you care about to the abusive treatment of Solstice Senior Living.
