Great burger & the fries were good and crispy. It was packed when I went, but the wait was not long at all. I ordered the 6oz burger fully dressed w/o cheese, and I was stuffed from it & the fries. The only gripe I had about the food was the side of chili I ordered wasn't that good, but the burger & fries were so delicious, it didn't factor into my overall rating. Vicki's lunch van is an awesome experience. No longer located in a food truck but in a dive joint the food meets all my expectations. The food is cooked to order and therefore comes out hot and ready to eat. I came in at 12:59 with no line at the counter and received my food at 1:12. A quick wait for a cooked to order burger. I've seen some reviews complaining on the heat and smell. This place is a dive joint. The kitchen is 10 feet from the front counter so naturally the heat from the grills and dryers takes over the small building. If that bothers you so much then don't come to a dive joint. Stick to your $30 burgers elsewhere. As for me, I love these type places and the food and price are wonderful to me. 95 health rating when I came in and a notice on the door about increased prices starting July 1 but I'd gladly pay twice what I paid today for this meal so I'm not worried about it. This place hands down beats Five Guys, only thing missing are peanuts. The burgers are cooked just right. I got a 6oz cheeseburger with fries & a drink for $7 with a military discount! I'm ok with a wait for great food but this place missed the mark. 2. The restaurant smelled of grease and was too hot. Made the wait and dining experience less than desirable. 3. The drink machine was in the corner and walking around the restaurant was cumbersome with the long lines and table layout. 4. The burger. This was simply a greasy burger on a bun with topping. Nothing special. Too much ketchup and too much mayo. Bottom line... Mediocre bar food without the beer and bartender. Vicki's is a Montgomery institution. I have also learned while living in Montgomery that you are either Team Vicki's or Team Hamburger King. I tend to lean Vicki's for my artery clogging goodness. Vicki's is located in an unassuming building in an old shopping center that is largely abandoned. Patrons range from ALEA, ALDOT, ADEM, and every other government office located in the area, in addition to other MGM locals. In addition to the best burger in town, Vicki's also serves dogs and chicken for those who don't want to clog their arteries in one sitting. Straight forward and to the point. Like a lunch van turned permanent spot should be. A very simple burger, with simple ingredients. The way a burger should be. This place gets busy fast and I felt really nervous attempting to save a table for my group. Thankfully they showed up before I got yelled at. LOL I had been craving a burger for a few days and was delighted to hear about this spot and its popularity, because I am very particular about my burgers. This place didn't disappoint. I ordered the 4oz burger meal and probably didn't need the fries. My husband ordered the 8oz and even though I warned him about the size (think McDonald's double 1/4 pounder) he ordered it and suffered the meat sweat consequences later. LOL. The food here is amazing, I have not had anything that I did not like I have ordered everything on the menu at least once. My favorite has to be the taco salad although i would not call it a salad I would say nachos with everything. The portion sizes are enough for 2 people and very reasonably priced. For my husband and I to eat here it usually costs under $20 for lunch. My husband was a hold out and refused to come for months finally he broke and now this is his favorite place to eat. In fact if he had his way we would eat here everyday. My only complaint would be the parking and the air conditioning. Parking is horrible because it is always busy and its small but the worse part is how hot it is. If you have ever had their amazing food you understand that putting up with the heat is worth it for the food but a little AC would be great. Overall i would give this place 5 stars for amazing food. I visited Vickie's Lunch Van because I wanted to try what David Holloway from AL.COM called the best burger in Alabama. Well, as usual my fellow Yelper's are pretty much spot on with their reviews of Vickie's. Best Burger in Alabama????? I vote NO (I respectfully disagree with AL.COM) This simple lunch only place is run in a completely inefficient manner. There is no way at all that my burger should have taken 55 minutes to be served. They were somewhat busy, but not THAT busy on a Thursday. As others have said, the staff seemed flat and uninterested in their customers. Now, when my burger finally made its way out of the kitchen, it was simply not all that good. Grease from the burger had soaked the bottom bun to the extent that I could not pick it up to eat it without it totally falling apart. There was so much mayo and ketchup on the burger that I had to struggle to taste the patty. Needless to say I did not even finish it. In my very humble (But accurate) opinion, certainly NOT the best burger in Alabama and by a long shot NOT the best burger in Montgomery. My vote for best in Montgomery goes to Hamburger King!! read more

It's good, really good but "probably" not good for you . It looks like a hole in the wall kinda place and it is. These are usually the best surprises and we were not disappointed. We got there at 1:00 and they close at 2:00. There was a steady stream of regulars coming through. I ordered the 4oz hamburger solo, meaning no fries. Husband ordered the 6oz burger combo. When our order was up, they had given me fries anyway. Winner winner! Beef is good quality, patties are patted out and are irregularly shaped, fried on the griddle. Fries were hot. If you are not looking for a commercial burger this is the place to go. The price is not bad for a fresh made burger. They offer you a 4, 6, and 8 ounce burger with fries or chips. The exterior and interior is a little run down but that does not take away form the great taste of the burgers. It is well worth stopping on in if you want a burger that has great taste and has not been sitting in a warmer before it hit your bun. The location and building's appearance have a lot to be desired, but I was there to try the burgers. Inside there was a line of people ordering food and the tables were full of people eating. There were a lot of military people from Gunter as well as people from downtown. From a choice of 6, 8, or 10 oz burger, I ordered the 8 oz.; it was so huge I couldn't finish it!
