    Oxtails and Rice:
    Debra R.

The oxtails are smoked and tender. Yes they are delicious. We also tried the corn pudding, smoked chicken (delicious), and theMac and Cheese (delicious). The service was quick and courteous. Give them a try you will not regret it.

You walk in to a cafeteria style line serving a variety of soul food options. On the Saturday that we went, they were serving items such as fried tilapia, baked chicken, fried chicken, stuff chicken, and pulled pork. Their sides were so flavorful - especially the black-eyed peas, green beans, and yams. The icing on the cake to our wonderful meal though was the blackberry and apple cobbler (so good we had to get a second to go). The meals were $15 each and the dessert was $3.50 - great value. These folks know what they're doing with their recipes and we're so glad we stopped.

Some didn't know if it is pet friendly on the property of the Legacy Museum. One museum guy said the dog couldn't be on the terrace but okay in the grass by the curb. We sat down in the sun with our dog and tried to enjoy some southern comfort soul food. Then upon leaving an aggressive man from the museum told me I had to leave the property. I let him know that online it states "pet friendly". He was not very nice about even when I told him I was leaving. I guess he wanted to make a statement to the public. If this was driven by a prior history of dogs, I get it. BUT put up signs and even call it out why dogs are not welcome. I did what I could in advance to make sure I wasn't breaking rules and choosing a place to eat with my dog on family vacation traveling the South. I will not be back to Montgomery and now how a very negative view of this city. Unfortunately I was trying to teach my kids about social justice and our past history of racism and segregation. I feel it's reversed here.

Got there at 5:25pm and there were at least 15 people at the hostess stand. Hostess seemed lost....would struggle to get the ext person seated and didn't ask if anyone had reservations until about 5:40pm. When she did about 12 people raised their hands....we all had 5:30pm ones. Got seated around 5:45pm; waitress was prompt and friendly - she was the only highlight. Got our appetizer with our dinner that came out at three different moments about 10min apart. We didn't get our food until about 6:45pm....horribly long wait. Good was not very good; certainly not worth what we paid. My chicken bienville was tasteless and the chicken tough and chewy. The side of fried okra and sweet potato fries were good though! His and had a shrimp poboy with rock hard bread and what looked like frozen shrimp heated up. Definitely will not be back; there are too many other places in downtown Montgomery to try!

The service is always good, and staff have always been friendly and caring. All the locations we visited were fairly new and nice and clean. Sometimes it can get loud in certain locations, but that was never a real issue. Today, I had the seasonal special of the "Chimichurri Steak & Eggs Hash". WOW! It was impressive. Everything was perfectly seasoned, well-cooked, and plated beautifully. I also had the "French Toast". It was sweet but enjoyable. We had an incredibly positive visit, and we will visit there again.

This one In Prattville is no different in that regard. Service when we went was a little lacking though but it was quite busy. My biggest issue was the cleaning standards of the cutlery and glasses. The water carafes were incredibly spotty. The silverware was the same. But what got me was the lipstick on my wife's water glass. It all speaks volumes as to their cleaning standards. I get the hard water issue in Prattville but I don't see that issue with other restaurants. As for the food, my wife enjoyed her biscuits and graveyard. My frittata was pretty good but nothing special.
