An assortment of party cakes

Five stars. I'm sitting in my car outside this place and needed to drop this review in an effort to make it as hot and fresh as their coffee and pastries. So you're thinking; South Florida on a Saturday at lunch time. Was it busy? Yeah, understandable. Clean interior with smaller side tables to enjoy your sweet or savory treats indoors. Did it take forever? Nope. Super fast suoer fried my bilingual staff. Also, let's talk about their decorative cakes. They have them and they're awesome. I didn't expect a Winnie the Pooh quote to make me ponder like that, but before I could ponder the philosophy my coffee was ready. Tip: Order everything and enjoy eating it. Calories don't doubt from November 1st through January 1st.

I've been enjoying goodies from Vicky Bakery at this location since I was a little girl. I have fond memories of stopping by and picking up delicious meat, guava and cream cheese pastries on our way to the beach and enjoying these delights throughout the day. I also have countless memories as a teenager stopping by with a group of friends and eating different treats at this particular location. Now-a-days, I live far from this Vicky Bakery but I always make it a point to stop and get a delicious meat and guava pastry whenever I'm near the area. I love their fresh Orange juice as well. The staff here is always kind and attentive. I will definitely be back soon for more delights! Pro tip: take a number when you walk in Fromm little dispenser because they will call your number when it's your turn.

I'm here for the pasteles

Vicky Bakery was a staple for me years ago when I lived in Miami. Way back then (1980's), we'd have cafecitos y pan for breakfast or on breaks when we could sneak away. As fondly as these memories are held, they are pale ghosts of the bustling business Vicky's is now. When we arrived, the place was packed with humans. No distress through, the servers ran through numbers quickly and efficiently, all while giving giving each customer individualized, personal service. Since I've relocated to another state, a few dozen pasteles for my expatriate family was the least to do for them. For me, a pan con tortilla, tostada y colada was my breakfast for the road. However given the flaky nature of Cuban bread, it might not have been the best plan. The challenge of brushing off my long unused Spanglish made me and my server grin, but when the reward was a warm smile and a hot breakfast it was all worth it. There are more than a dozen Vicky bakeries now, so you should go and as soon as possible.

Clean stores and amazing food!

Foods great but as usual in Latin places, the workers spend more time talking to one another than actually attending the clients.

Best place in Miami for pastelitos. The only con I can think of is the wait to order.

My goodness. Let me just start with that…read more I ordered take out and all I have to say is BRAVO! This review is based on the food. Got the steak frites and a crepe of butter and sugar. Let me start with the steak frites. I can appreciate the fries weren't thick cut or anything. This was a plus and I'll explain why shortly. That steak was SUPER tender and juicy. Those fries quickly absorbed those flavors. Additionally, they served it with some sauces and let me say I don't really like steak sauces or anything but what they had was just icing on what was already a beautiful cake. The cherry on top was the crepe. Super light, flavor bomb, and frankly I thought I was crazy for thinking butter and sugar was gonna be boring, it was DIVINE. 10/5 will come back

Inside, the restaurant fully transports you out of the 305 with danity, quirky and cute decor, and cozy lighting. Only tables available. seating inside and out by parking lot. THE FOOD: For starters, we had the cheese, bread and honey dish - 4/5 warm, crunchy, gooey goodness. I also had the French onion soup 5/5, probably the best ive ever had! incredible flavor profile perfectly balanced and salted. For entrees, my husband went with a oxtail with mash dish they had on special that day 1000/5, too bad eating with your hands and licking your plate is frowned upon lol - it deserved that! I had the Pan seared branzino 2/5 - now hear me out - it was five out of five in texture, soft and buttery, and presentation BUT it was cook with SO MUCH BUTTER, that the roof of my mouth & tongue were coated in it and I couldnt tastes anything else! It was so much butter that I felt my lips, tongue and throat irritated. Additionally, im not sure why they didn't pair this dish with a mash or a roasted potatoes, instead of only cooked down spinach. THE SERVICE: Reservations are strongly encouraged - so I made mine with Resy. Through Resy, I confirmed my reservation and had it all in text & email. Upon arrival, their system didnt pull it up. However, the manager (?) was kind, gentle and gracious, sat us at a table. Our waiter was fantastic! So charismatic, and was well versed on all the dishes and how they were made. I believe she said she's been with the team a few years now. From what I understand, a sister restaurant was just opened in Miami Beach, so I hope to be able to give that one a try aswell - maybe for my birthday in two weeks?

Our favorite time to visit is Sunday brunch, especially since they have a special menu. We recently came for Father's Day, and even though Julio was celebrating as a father himself, he was working incredibly hard to make sure every guest had a great experience. You can really see how much heart and dedication he pours into his business. As expected on Father's Day, there was a bit of a wait, especially since we were a larger party, but none of us minded. To thank us for our patience, Julio generously brought out croquetas for the table on the house, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I can't recommend Trigo Café enough. The food is consistently excellent, the service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like home. While brunch is our favorite, their lunch and dinner are just as great, and the new tapas and wine area they recently added is a fantastic addition. If you haven't been, you're missing out!

When i couldn't finish my coffee she packed it up for me in a to go cup.

WHAT A RIPOFF!!!! This place sucks. Ordered a cafe con…read moreleche, two chorizo empanadas, two chicken and two beef empanadas and two strawberry macha for $80.05!! $80.05??? Yes, $80.05. then, the great service! NOT!! They gave our drink order to the group that ordered after me. It was classic, the guy ordered the same three drinks I ordered plus four other as they were a large party. He's not even done paying when I see the lady put my drink order on the counter and tells him "the rest of your drinks are coming up" I was like 'what?' I watched as he grabbed my drinks and passed them out. As I walked up to the counter and asked the lady where are my drinks, since I ordered first. She looks at me and then at the other guy and says "oh, I have them to the wrong person" laughs about it and then, with a straight face tells me "as soon as I finish with their drinks I'll get yours, their order is using up the coffee machine now" No I'm sorry, no apology of any kind. So to wrap up, super way overpriced, the cafe con leche (Latte) was weak and it was more foam then coffee and they gave me the wrong size, paid for large received the small. When I went back to let them know. They said I would have to wait until they finish with the other orders. I was already 40 minutes in this stupid place. So I asked her to refund the difference and she said that she can't do that. WHAT??? EVERYTHING (did not try their pastries) IN THIS PLACE SUCKS, THE SERVICE, THE EMPANADAS AND THE LATTE AND MACHA! Eat there at your own risk or if you don't mind throwing your money away. I couldn't even take back my tip, which starts at 18% What a way to start your day, pissed because of no one likes to be robbed first thing in the morning.

It is a really cute breakfast place, and feels like an easy option to bring people if you are visiting the area. I really liked the special that they were running, which was a salmon and egg croissant sandwich. There were lots of buttery layers on the croissant, and there was plenty of filling. Plenty of seating inside, and larger portions. Everything was pretty yummy! I didn't try their coffee or other drinks, but if it is anything like the food I would wager it is a solid choice. Service was a little slow, and it took a bit to get our check. But our food came out super quick and was well made. I definitely think it is a solid breakfast option if you are in the area and can see myself coming back to maybe try one or two more things on their menu.
