They drive in to the fish market a few times a week and bring it into the store. There is a display case for fresh fish and of course they cook it up to order. I got the fisherman platter which included fish and chips, perfectly cooked fried nice and crispy fries, with fried clams and fried scallops. Fries were perfect and came with a nice little coleslaw cup too. Couldn't finish it! My buddy got a baked stuff lobster and that took a few minutes. It was stuffed with scallops! We sat outside at one of two little tables. It was a nice day, very pleasant out and quiet a few locals came in to grab take out. The place is well regarded. The owner's dad was cooking, and his girlfriend Kathy I believe ran the counter and both were super nice to talk to. Told us their story. Everyone has one and it's always nice to hear how people come to do what they are doing. Very small store and other than the 2 tables outside it's take-out. Has a case with some items and T shirts. I almost bought one, but they didn't have any XL today. It's located in a little plaza not far from Attleboro that has the Chartley Country store. It's not near to me but it was a fun drive, a good time and the fried fish is fresh and yummy.

Today we had the opportunity to visit the Taunton location for a bereavement luncheon after a family funeral, and I was truly impressed. The luncheon was held in a beautiful private room upstairs that was set up perfectly for our gathering. Everything was elegant, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. The meal was served family-style buffet, and every dish was outstanding. The quality of the food was exactly what we've come to expect from La Familia--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were incredibly welcoming and attentive to everyone's needs, yet never rushed our group. Considering the emotional circumstances of the day, their kindness and professionalism meant a lot to all of us. And I have to mention the bread--whoever makes it deserves special recognition. I would happily buy a loaf or two every week if I could. A sincere chef's kiss to the entire establishment and especially the function team who handled our event so beautifully. La Familia continues to prove why it's such a special place for our family.

We always sit on the right side, which is where the TVs and the bar section is, but the hostess tonight was exceptionally uncomfortable, and didn't know how to deal with our request telling us there was too many people when we could clearly see tables were open. We sat on the left side, which was fine. There was a birthday party in the front room going on our waitress was super attentive and very friendly and got our entire order correct our food came out hot and fresh. The pizza is always a giant hit here as is the Caesar salad. I didn't have to ask for the drink menu which put our waitress back, but that was fine. The lemon drop was good. The bathrooms were clean and easily accessible and there is plenty of parking in the parking lot. I would recommend coming here for your average of the mill meal. There is plenty of seating the right side has pub seating and a pool table. There is a giant bar in the middle and the left is more family seating as well as a front function room.

We ordered two soul food plates -- 1 meat and 2 sides for $19 each. I went with the garlic and herb wings, and my wife got the hot honey wings. Both came with about six wings each, and they were so flavorful and meaty! For sides, we both chose collard greens and mac & cheese. The collard greens were seasoned perfectly, and the mac and cheese was rich and delicious -- definitely comfort food done right. Each meal also came with cornbread, which for me was the only miss of the night; it didn't have much flavor and didn't seem super fresh, but to be fair, we went around 6 PM, so it might've just been late in the day. We tried two desserts -- the pound cake and the peach cobbler. The pound cake was a bit dry, but that peach cobbler? Amazing. Sweet, warm, and full of flavor. We also got a side plate of fried catfish, and wowww... that was a showstopper! Crispy, fresh, and perfectly seasoned -- I'd honestly make the 30-minute drive again just for that catfish alone. All in all, this spot deserves way more attention. You can tell the food is made with love, and with a few small tweaks, it could easily be one of the best soul food restaurants around. Definitely worth checking out!
