After I explained everything in detail, she simply responded, "Your tests are negative," as if that invalidated what I had just experienced. There was no curiosity, just dismissal. She basically said that without proof there's nothing they can do. She recommend an EpiPen and another visit. (She conferred with the doctor. So he knew of my condition. She left the room at least twice to speak with him.) What I needed was a provider who would listen, consider my environment, and treat me with respect. Instead, I left feeling unheard and discredited. She said without proof there's nothing more they could do. Proof? She could have recommended a blood test! I got a second opinion this week, and the new Doctor found my cause. He asked for a blood test, and it was positive. My symptoms, the environment, and the original reason for my worry finally had an answer. Patients deserve to be taken seriously, especially when symptoms involve something as serious as an allergy. If you're looking for an allergist who genuinely listens, I recommend looking elsewhere. The allergist at this location couldn't be bothered to see me, and the practitioner came off as condescending instead of caring. The only positive is a friendly front desk staff. I traveled to this location after reading the reviews. I regret the visit. I'm not from San Antonio.

When I attempted to make an appointment with my location, I was abruptly asked, 'Did your office location not answer the phone'. I then proceed to explain to them that the website directed me to contact central scheduling. It is bad enough being ill; yet worse when we cannot get treatment. It looks like I am not the only one that has had an unpleasant experience with scheduling. The office location at Olmos has always been great! I had to contact the office to schedule his follow up appointment after we received the results in the mail. We waited until April 23 for his follow up. Dr. Patel discussed the results and his recommendation for my son to use a nasal spray. He stated he would have the prescription called in and that the spray is also OTC. I called to check with the pharmacy and they never received a prescription. They give you access to an online portal. Which they do not update or add summary visits. It would have bee. Helpful to just check the notes to see what the nasal spray was but once again I have to reach back out to the office for them to tell me what happened with the prescription and what nasal spray he should used. He also wants him to come back in October. I like the Dr. but the staff, not so much. They could use some customer service training. You also wait for a while. Like 40 mins for a 10 min convo other the dr. Not sure I'd recommend anyone here. But the dr is great.

When I started to have severe GI issues, I booked an appointment with my local and current GI doctor only to be asked generic survey like questions, yelled at, and told I had IBS before being pushed out of the exam room. Luckily, I had made an appointment with Dr. Havranek as well in case I needed a second opinion. It is pretty obvious that his staff is highly trained; they are always polite, knowledgeable, and available. When I first met Dr. Havranek, he shook my hand, was so polite, and asked individualized questions to my GI needs. He was even able to predict some of my symptoms before I got sick showing that he was listening to me and knows his stuff! If you didn't know, he does research at his facility, which helps me to trust his expertise even more because he is constantly learning about the digestive system and not just using outdated information. When I had to meet with the nurse practitioner, instead of him, I was anxious, but now I am ashamed of my preconceived notions. The nurse was very helpful, informative, and polite (if you visit this practice, you can see that politeness is a value). I came unprepared to my appointment, which was completely my fault, and the nurse went out of her way to ensure that the reason for my visit was met. The second time I had an appointment with Dr. Havranek, the nurse practitioner was going to see me instead. When I asked to see the Dr., the nurse who took my blood pressure seemed very pleasant and unperturbed and made it happen! At this visit, even though he was busy with other rounds and endoscopy procedures, he took his time to answer all of my questions and set my mind at ease without rushing me through the door. We have a plan in place to get me to feeling better, and I am so happy that someone is finally taking my pain seriously! If you're concerned with price, they work out payment plans and are very understanding. You get results right away over the phone or through patient portal with email notifications. I love Maria, the medical assistant! She always has the biggest smile on her face, is accommodating, responsive to calls, and helpful I cannot say enough nice things about this practice and staff! They make you feel welcomed and like you're at the right place to get the help you need. I made sure to visit five times before posting a review for accuracy :)

So proper prep protocol for medication and diet is not going to be able to be adhered to at this point. My wheezing stopped within a couple of days. I began to gain strength and endurance as the weeks advanced. After a couple of months, I didnt need the inhaler daily. I only used it when wheezing returned and only needed it a few days. At my one year follow-up, all is clear. He wrote me new prescriptions for the inhaler, in case I catch COVID, Flu, or have pneumonia. He also wrote a prescription for a different inhaler to try for the occasional wheezing I get. It was difficult to get ahold of the office manager, as calls consistently went to voicemail. My request was ultimately denied because I was considered an "established patient" with the original provider, whom I saw only once. Overall, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend this office.
