I recently relocated to Ohio and was in search of a new dental office after being with my previous…read moredentists for over five years. Unfortunately, my experience at Carrie Fletcher-Clock, DDS, in Kettering was far from positive. After reading the reviews, I decided to book a consultation when I needed immediate dental attention. The consult went well, and I initially thought I had found my new dental home--but I was wrong. After the consultation in July, the front desk staff told me they would call me, but I waited two months without hearing anything. When I finally called to follow up, I was met with excuses and no accountability. The front desk blamed the delay on insurance, but as a patient, I wasn't aware of what goes on behind the scenes and felt that even a simple update would have been appreciated. Instead, I was left in the dark with no communication for over two months. When I finally returned for my appointment, I had some follow-up questions based on my conversation with insurance. The dental hygienist ( young lady with blonde hair in bun) was very polite and patient, answering what she could, but Dr. Fletcher-Clock's attitude was shocking. When I asked her questions about my care plan, she told me, "I think you will be a problem," and insinuated that I thought I knew more than her, which was confusing and uncalled for. I wasn't rude at all or challenging her. Multiply time letting her know I AGREEW WITH HER ; I simply wanted clarification and reassurance about my treatment plan. Her dismissive tone and comments about insurance were unprofessional, with statements like "They're probably not even dentists looking at the X-rays. Insurance sucks, and they're in India." I left feeling unheard and shamed for merely seeking information about my own care. Patients should never be made to feel like a burden for asking questions, especially when dental visits can already be anxiety-inducing for some and I tend to experience anxiety when visiting the dentist which is why I had questions and needed to feel safe. What made this experience worse was the lack of accountability. Dr. Fletcher-Clock didn't take any responsibility for the miscommunication, instead blaming me for being "difficult." When I expressed discomfort and wanted to reschedule or reconsider my options, she remarked, "Do you know I blocked off two hours for you?"--as if my time and questions were irrelevant. I responded, "Do you know I've been calling your office for two months with little to no feedback?" I even offered to pay a cancellation fee because I was so uncomfortable (ready to leave) with her tone and statement and to be fair if she felt my questions were a waste of her time. I left the office embarrassed and deeply saddened. Even as I walked out, a staff member (Older lady sitting in chair with dark hair) gave me a dirty look, which added to the already negative experience. This type of treatment is exactly why some patients are afraid to speak up or ask questions at medical and dental offices or refuse to go to the doctor in general. No one should ever feel shamed for wanting to understand their care. This experience was incredibly disappointing, especially after moving to a new state and hoping to find a reliable dental home. It's unfortunate, but I cannot recommend this office based on the lack of communication, professionalism, and care that I received.

Don't trust them…read more They gave me a treatment plan for a crown and I pre-paid it. Then they came back and added an x-ray charge (wouldn't expect x-rays during a crown replacement would you?) and then threatened to report it to credit agencies. Thanks Krista L. Clawson.

Dentists have expensive x-ray machines to pay off and as a result like to push patients into…read moregetting them. I have no objection to getting mine x-rayed if there is a legitimate medical reason for doing so. (Call me old-fashioned.) But I am not going to get x-rayed "just because." At my previous dentist, I explained my position regarding x-rays, and on my first two appointments, the hygienists cleaned them without making a fuss. Then I got a hygienist who said that she wouldn't go near my mouth unless I got x-rays...so I walked out. And switched to Premier. On my first two trips to Premier, the hygienists were fine with me not getting x-rays, but then I encountered one who tried to push them on me. When I pushed back, they said that although they were willing to clean my teeth this time, I would need x-rays in the future. And when I was checking out, they asked me to sign a waiver that relieved them of any harm I might have caused myself by not getting x-rayed, which I gladly did. The question: Why do dentists insist on playing such games? They make what should seem like a health care visit feel instead like a visit to a used-car dealer. Very unprofessional!

I thought this was a decent place as I had a dentist assistant who was professional so far my…read moreexperience was decent only with her and the front desk staff except for my very last visit. Unfortunately, on my last visit I couldn't see my regular person and instead this other lady "assisted" me. I believe her name is Brenda. It turned out a horror movie to me as she injected the pain killer and her lack of humanity and lack of patience kicked in when she was pulling my teeth and I felt the pain raw. I asked her to stop as I was in tears literally so upset and in pain. Then I requested to speak with Dr. Sato who came as a gentle person yet on my way out my final bill was supposed to be $250. After I payed so many other charges they had for me. Days later, their final bill was $349 and I called and asked for adjustment as I was told that wasn't the right amount and yet they didn't fix anything but send me to delinquency and reported me to the credit bureau. I refused to pay the wrong amount and even more so after the aweful experience I had. Not only that, they submitted the wrong charge but they did it twice to affect my credit score. The second bills was $374 so now out of the blue they requested $723 ?!? Who does that to people? They do! That is how mean and vicious Dr. Sato is on his practice. I was fooled by the other reviews and the nice staff he is lucky to have aside the heartless lady who couldn't care less about waiting for my pain killers to work. They are lucky I hadn't care to press charges and get them regulated for sick fraudulent charges but wanted to make sure anyone considering working with them think about it and go elsewhere and go to a place where they are treated better.

I have recommended Dr. Sato to several people. His office has a sterling reputation and his…read morehygienists are the best I've encountered, which is important since you spend most of your time with them. I've never had to wait, either.
