He has a office assistant that is INCREDIBLY RUDE. When I called to see if the doctor was accepting new patients, his office assistant hung up in my face. We called this doctors office because it was on the insurance providers list, and she was incredibly short tempered and to be transparent, MEAN. The doctor might be a good, I will never know, but if your going to be dealing with his nursing staff a lot, which in most cases you have too, DONT GO HERE! Old and tired. Doesn't much care anymore. Probably good for much older patients but not if you are younger and healthier. Very condesending when answering questions and a know it all. Did not care to even read medical records or review condition. I would be afraid for my well being under his care. His front office assistant is one of the best though. She is exceptional in every way. No parking anywhere near his antique office. Go to a more modern and updated care. This one is for when you are ready to give up. read more

One of the best if not the best doctor you'll ever have. Doctor Gura is the total package; he deeply cares about each patient and contains the wealth of knowledge that any physician would hope to gain in their lifetime. Dr. Gura treats his patients like family. I ended up in hospital and he visited me every day mon-sun (yes, even on saturdays and sundays he came to see me), and he was on top of every little detail in my chart. Dr. Gura really is on the front lines with your best interests at heart. Along with Dr. Gura, you get his top notch staff. Magda will work with you with whatever you need. I don't think I've ever waited more that 5 minutes to get an email reply. One day she called the pharmacy on the spot to request a 90 day supply for me. She is a pleasure to see each time. Dr. Gura and Magda saved my wife's life. My wife complained about back pain and nausea 2 Friday's ago. So I called our regular doctor, but they said they were booked until the following Tuesday. I searched for nephrologists and all of them were also booked until next week. When I called Dr. Gura's office Magda answered and said, "sure not a problem come in today, I don't want you to suffer over the weekend." I could not believe my ears. Upon arriving Magda greeted my wife and I and said that she already called my insurance and everything was ok. Again I could not believe my ears she was so kind. After meeting Dr. Gura I felt so confident that my wife was in good hands. Right away he quarterbacked a team of doctors to assist my wife with her kidney failure. Dr. Gura is my mother's primary care doctor and her Nephrologist. He has been instrumental in keeping my mom alive, happy and well and still enjoying her kidney transplant. He has been her doctor now for about eighteen years and I find it hard to think she would have done this well under anyone else's care. I was lucky enough to be his patient for a couple of years and he was thorough in his examinations and referrals. He listens attentively, answers questions thoroughly and follows up on items. Magda runs the office impeccably and with a wry sense of humor and Ruthie is a caring physician's assistant with a magical touch for drawing blood; I haven't seen Seda lately, but she's great too. If you are looking for a Top Doctor who would care for you like your own Family, I highly recommend Dr. Gura. He has been my parents' primary care doctor and Nephrologist. In 2006, my mom was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. He took a good care of my mom's health. It's not easy for my mom to deal with her cancer, but every time we see Dr. Gura everything is 100% manageable. With his knowledge and expertise, my mom was able to live like a healthy normal person. She was able to gain appetites, better metabolism, and overcome chemotherapy drug side effect. Through his connections, she managed to get the same day appointment with many top specialist doctors. His Team, Magda and Ruth, is equally as important. It's not easy to deal with the insurance and pharmacy, but Magda would stay on top of things. Magda would look, find and call the pharmacy that would carry my mom's specialty drugs. She would make sure that the medication is available and ready for pick up before we make the trip to the pharmacy. The other plus was about the convenience, Mom didn't have to go many places to get the necessary health tests. Ruth is always ready to draw samples and take health related tests. Had a great experience with Dr. Gura for my pre-op for back surgery. He is very patient and compassionate. I wish he was a dr. in my area. He came to see me hospital the day after surgery.
