It all started when I sent a mass message request for quotes from various photographers around the Napa area. I had planned to do a surprise proposal for my now fiance and the responses I received were unhelpful and dry. Many responses were received such as "500 flat rate" or "not available". Well, Chris responded with a very thorough and inquiring message. He sent many many suggestions of places to propose at, what the area is like, what the staff is like ... man I can't name the countless details he has discussed with me. Point being, he went ABOVE AND BEYOND what nobody else would. I had a few places in mind to propose at, but these suggestions Christophe made were fantastic. I'm talking vast mountain views and intimate settings. Open vineyards as far as the eye can see where no one is around but just you and that special person. He has done us a 100/10 service in helping plan and set up the surprise engagement. Christophe is special to me in the way that he has made this whole process a comfortable and exciting one. I was very nervous throughout the whole process and due to some miscommunication, I was devastated but Chris cleared everything up for me and the other parties involved, and from there I knew he was a man with a good heart that only wants the best for his clients. In preparation of the surprise engagement, he gave very very thorough and specific details. Like, there's no way you can go wrong!! It was so comforting knowing step by step what I should do and how to help my fiance get the best shots without compromising the surprise in any way. In the end, my fiance was so happy about the whole engagement that we couldn't stop talking about Chris and the venue the whole ride back to our hotel. Lightworks never advised me that the portraits were ready, and I was given a very weak explanation relative to the lack of follow-up, while receiving no compensation for the many months (!) it took to obtain them. Additionally, the average quality of the portraits in no way justifies the high cost!

I had won a certificate for a family session and print at a charity auction. Making an appointment…read morewas easy (the appointment was bit into the future, but that's a good sign!) and the staff was very flexible when we needed to reschedule. When you walk into the studio you are instantly surrounded by pictures from past clients sessions in a variety of finishes, frames and arrangements. It being Napa, you are sure to know someone on the wall! Our appointment was in the morning, and so we headed off to the park behind the studio for an outdoor session (our choice). My husband and I have a 3 year old son, and Joe and Carol were such professionals; they knew how to engage our son to smile and have fun (without creating a tantrum!). As he took pictures, Joe let us see the results and make suggestions and welcomed our comments. After only about 15 minutes we headed back to the studio. My husband and I thought he would review the pictures and pick the best one, but to our happy surprise we got to sit down and see them all together. In seeing the pictures on the monitor I could see the craftsmanship and skill that Joe has with a camera. Small details in lighting, posing, and angle really make his pictures come alive. So much so, that we decided to purchase an additional photo collage. We were alerted a few weeks later that the prints were ready and I picked them up without any problems. While some may say that the cost is expensive (notably the other comment posted here), you must realize that Lightworks (and other similar photographers) are not a department store photoshop. You are getting a far superior product for your dollar with Lightworks. Our prints, mattes and frame are of the highest quality, the kind of quality that you won't get from a mall shop. Remember: these are your priceless moments in time of your friends or family, entrust them to Lightworks to preserve and honor them. Without hesitation we would return to Lightworks in the future. I would highly recommend them.

For the engagement photos, this was back in November 2023. She was already there when we arrived. Zach and I both felt so awkward and nervous since this was our first photo shoot, but Anna worked her magic and did her best to help us relax for the entire session. She's also a dog person so I was overjoyed that our dog was able to join us in these photos. After we saw the amazing engagement photos, I knew I had to secure her for our wedding day. Her response time is great as well; she will let you know when she is out of town and how long/when to expect a response from her. Our wedding was in mid-July 2024. Anna was there early again to scope out the wedding venue and checked in with both Zach and I the entire event. When I was having trouble walking in my dress, she was quick on her feet to help me. We had a long list of photos we wanted with family and she was able to organize everyone in a timely fashion. We only saw a snippet of the wedding photos, but I already know that the rest will turn out wonderfully. Anna is super friendly, approachable and such a sweet and kind person.
