I'm originally from Los Angeles and this is the only place that gets as close to authentic Mexican food. People always ask what do you miss from CA and I always say nothing except for the tacos. I was traveling and stumbled on this taco shop. I ordered the fish taco and the carnitas taco. I wanted to try the rice and beans, so I ordered a 1oz size of each for 99 cents. Everything was delicious. The carnitas could have had some more flavor or spice, but I was too tired to get up and ask for salsa. They also had a nice selection of Mexican sodas. read more

I've never tried Victor's before. Was always more of a T-Bell girl. So, one day I was sitting in the Taco Bell drive thru and I looked over and saw this really seductive sign that said "3 leches cake" on the side of a Victor's Tacos establishment. Suddenly I felt like a girl who was in a relationship but saw a hot guy and thought "things with my man aren't THAT serious." I mean, when's the last time Taco Bell offered me cake??? So the next time I was out that way I cheated on T-Bell and pulled up to Victor. I started by ordering the cake, then asked the girl in the drive thru what her favorite thing on the menu was. She told me she liked the street tacos. I took her advice and ordered 2 steak street tacos. The cake looked like it would make my dreams come true, but it kinda fell short. I'd still give it a 6/10 because come on, it's cake. But it wasn't what you would imagine a good tres leches to be. It was honestly dry in the middle and all the milk fell to the bottom. I had to smash it all up to moisten it. And even then it had kind of a boxed cake flavor. But again, cake! The tacos looked underwhelming but ended up being delicious. I recommend them for sure. The red sauce that comes with them will burn your mouth but it's so worth it. A little burning hot numbness is worth that flavor. It reminded me of tacos you get at the fair. I keep smelling the ghost of Victor in my car now and daydreaming about when I'll have those delicious tacos again. I can't wait to try something different there next time, too. read more

I had a delivery from Victor's Taco Shop and I must say it was a very good experience. My order was the Chimichanga with chicken. It comes with Mexican Fried Rice and Refried Beans. I added sour cream as an extra. The chimichanga, refried beans, and Mexican fried rice were put in a styrofoam container. The sauces (guacamole, sour cream, pico), shredded cheese, and lettuce were placed in separate containers and placed in a paper bag. This is something you can request on DoorDash. There were two plastic forks and two spoons included in the bag. Ample napkins were included as well. The refried beans and Mexican fried rice are what you would expect from most Mexican restaurants. They were good. The guacamole, shredded cheese, sauces, and shredded lettuce were all fresh. However, the chimichanga is the star of the meal. It is huge and I could not finish it in one sitting . The crust was soft and flaky and fried well. The chimichanga was delicious. It was very cheesy, with shredded chicken and some refried beans as a filling. It is really big and could be shared unless you're very hungry. Overall, even with DoorDash delivery charge, I found this to be a very good value for your hard earned money. I highly recommend and will order from again when I am craving great Mexican food. read more

Victor's Taco Shop is worth trying. Large menu, good prices. Food is made to order and comes out quick. I recently tried the Big OH Burrito and a quesabirria. The Big OH Burrito definitely lived up to its name -- it was huge and good for two meals. It is double wrapped, so quite heavy on the carbs. The quesabirria was delicious. Went here for dinner. I was told this place just opened up. I have to say the service was good. I was so excited to hear you could get a breakfast burrito all day so I got a burrito with egg, cheese, sausage, and potato. It was so good. They do charge extra for the cheese but it was not too much more. I went through drive through so not sure what the ambiance is on the inside. I definitely will be back. I want to try the enchiladas next time! I say great food for the price. Plus the servings are big which is a plus. read more

We tried a few things here (drive-thru not dine-in) on our first visit. The beef taco was great (definitely will be my go-to place for a regular beef taco); the Big OH burrito was ok... kind of plain. Just not our favorite thing. But what we were really thrown off by was the guacamole (we ordered the combo chips with guacamole and queso cheese). The guac is completely smooth, like it was squeezed out of a giant bag of commercial, pre-prepared guac from Gordon Food Service or something. It just was not our preference, given the texture. Food is decent and service is fast. I rated it a 3 because they served us our "eat in" food in two to go STYROFOAM containers. So wasteful. Save yourself money and the planet with less junk in landfills. We are so behind Europe in trying to eliminate waste that will be here for many years to come. This is the REAL DEAL! Best Mexican restaurant in Dayton. We are very satisfied and will return asap. I ordered the Combo #3, Taco and Enchilada. My husband ordered the Combo #10, Mucho Grande. Every item was packed with flavor. The food was so good, we were tempted to take an order of nachos to go even after we finished our dinner meals. Horrible customer service. Ate there 3/24 and spent $18 on chips, salsa a burrito and strawberry horchata. I went pretty late so I shouldn't have expected much. I also paid for white sauce and it was nasty. When I got home my burrito was 90% beans, paid extra for fajita veggies and got a few raw peppers, chips were stale and horchata was thick and warm like it had been sitting for hours. I messaged them the next day and told them I would like either a refund or a possible remake of my food, they asked for my receipt to pull it up and I sent it to them from my bank which has the date and amount and I told them the time. Haven't heard back since. Everytime I message them it keeps saying they'll get back to me. Whenever I call it goes to vm or just rings. Highly annoyed. $18 is a lot of money right now for fast food and for them to just stop answering is ridiculous. We ate here alot, but now won't be back. read more

I'm visiting my parents from out of state and we stopped there for lunch on our way home one afternoon. Victor's offered a wide selection of menu items. We ordered three meals and were pleased to find two favorites that are hard to find: fish burrito and deep fried (not baked) chimichanga. All 3 orders were really good! The staff was friendly and not at all impatient as I tried to take in all the choices. The restaurant was extremely clean and brightly decorated. The food was much better tasting than the Mexican we've had in the area lately. The fish was crispy and the lettuce was fresh! The day was freezing but Victor's temperature was warm and the place was cheerful. I plan to go back again. read more
