Most places just reheat food that has been left over from the night before or that's been pre-cooked earlier. It's fresh and healthy in the sense that the food isn't drowned in oil and cooked entirely from scratch. Once you taste the flavors of the food here you'll be wanting to come back for a second serving. It's a mom and pop's store, so it's privately owned and has no sister/brother restaurant. The lady that works here does it all, she is the host, cook, and busser. She's a very nice lady. I went during dinner time and it was packed, but she got all the orders taken care of. It was about a 20-30 mins wait for my order with about 4-5 people ahead of me. In my opinion it's not a bad wait time considering she's doing everything by herself. She understands some English, but doesn't grasp it immediately when you place the order. Spanish works better for her and you can also called ahead of time and place an order for pick up. I'm a regular customer now and live around the area. I've been to a lot of Chinese restaurant's and eaten almost everything on the menu, but it's really hard to find another place that tastes as good as this one. The pricing for the food here isn't bad at all. It's $18.50 for a jumbo bucket of house fried rice that serves about 4-6 people (depending on how much a person can eat). You must try the house fried rice, crab ragoons, and chicken wings - tastes so goooddd!!! These are my favorites from the restaurant, and the wonton soup is pretty damn tasty too. All her platters on the menu are home made so she doesn't buy anything already pre-made to sell as a meal (walked in a few times to place an order to find her making them from scratch on the table). I was excited when I received 2 pounds of seabass out of the blue that my brother sent me for my…read morebirthday. I brought the package in immediately after being delivered and opened it to see what was in it. As soon as I opened the Styrofoam cooler the fish comes packed in, I was met with a strong fish odor. The ice was still frozen and the fish cold. I hoped it was just maybe some fish juices or something on the outside of the vacuum packed bags, ice packs or something inside the box and not the actual fish. Unfortunately, this was not the case. It was the fish that had the fishy odor. I cooked one 1 pound pack and froze the other. It still had a strong fish smell after being cooked and on the plate. This was disappointing because the fish itself tasted great but the smell brought a dish that should have been a 10 down to a 7. This may have been ok if it was salmon, but for sea bass that I'm sure was very expensive, this should not be the case. I don't know what happened but I'm not as excited to eat the frozen 1 pound pack I have left.
