This is the publix i always go to and the same lady at self checkout is always down my throat and is very rude.

The saying where shopping is a pleasure comes to life when my family and I come to Publix Sabor W 49 St & 16 Ave at different times and come across Zo, Katrina, Lily, Nadia for many years we have known these hard working employees. They are a ray of sunshine, always with a smile, friendly kind word, respectful, helpful, professional, exceptional decent people who care about their work and their customers. They are quiet but always busy working and minding their own business. During this Christmas season it's so important to take time to acknowledge and honor these employees who are quietly working but seen daily by shoppers and we have build a connection with them because they are kind hearted people. Zo, Katrina, Rebecca, Lily, Nadia. Please acknowledge them for who they are. I have seen shoppers stop by the sushi bar and be treated so well even speaking Spanish to customers that do not speak English. Where shopping is a pleasure?! Unfortunately this does not apply to this Publix. This Publix is the one closest to me and it lets me down every time from employees attitudes, unwillingness to help and it seems the Deli is by far the worst department! Tonight was the last straw! Had to repeat my order to the sub lady 3x, then she got the wrong setup for the sub and got annoyed when asked for her to prepare the deli meats for my sandwich! I just left when she started giving me attitude. Never coming back! Management is not doing great here they need to really practice being more hospitable to there patrons. where's the DM? Unfortunately I feel this location suffers from poor management. I often drive past this location to the much better experience on 68th. Today's experience was a reminder of the usually slow service at the deli and resulted in me leaving without my order. The lady trying to taking my order seemed to have no patience for me because she was unfamiliar with what I was ordering, "Jamón Bourbon ridge de la Boars Head". After the third time she said, " pero provolone es queso" and then asked the next person in line for his order. La pobre vieja no sabe adónde está parada! When I called her out for moving on to the next customer, she gave me attitude. I walked away. I'm sure Boars Head would appreciate it if the deli workers had some knowledge on their products beyond Jamón dulce, queso amarillo and pavo bajo en sal. read more

This is the worst Publix ever if Corporate spent a week there they would have to hire new employees and trained them properly. Meat department tells the customer you have to buy 3 chicken breast instead of 2 because what are they going to do with one. The Deli Department try so hard not to work. They spend too much time talking. The Cashier are slow and on top of that talking about other employees. The other day a bag boy talking to cashier that did not have customer in her lane when there were 4 cashiers with long lines that he could of help. The Produce Department the worst I have ever seen. You could call and complain and nothing being done. I rather go to another Publix then this one. Im going to buy 2 things takes me 45 minutes. This is probably the coolest Publix's I've ever been to. Ever. Catering to the Hispanic and Latino population of Hialeah, this Publix is a huge Publix "Sabor", or flavor. From a hot bar to a small coffee shop, this Publix has all your ethnic food needs. All the signs have a Spanish translation for those who prefer it. I wanted a cafe con leche from the small cafe but they close at 8. It was 8:30. It was a sad rest of the night for sure. I had a quick look at the hot bar and there were some Latino flavor staples. Black beans and yellow rice, plantains and more! Looked tasty. We ended up picking up some Mexican ice cream from the frozen section. Guava ice cream and mango Popsicles! This was such a different experience and I really enjoyed this location of Publix Sabor. read more

They've done that by adding important Hispanic-influenced food products here in this mammoth store that is actually nicer and bigger than most Publix I've seen all around Miami. For the Americans, it is still a mainstream store that offers normal products that can be found at other Publix. For the Hispanos, there are more Latin American products on the shelves than other Publix. But Sedano's, Bravo, Tropical, and other Hispanic grocery chains still may offer more than this Publix. The deli has plenty of Hispanic food offering and there is also a cafeteria in the premises. This store provides a win-win situation for everyone in heavily Hispanic-influenced Miami. read more

Biggest Publix ever! I mean, come on. It has a nail salon, a pharmacy, a coffee station window, and even an entire area for people to eat their hot food comfortably. Not to mention that this location has ample parking and it is situated in a plaza with a UPS Store, Hair Cuttery, and even a Krispy Kreme with a drive-thru and somehow you always manage to find a space even at peak hours. I rarely stop by as it's a bit out of the way for me. I live in the other side of Hialeah, after all. Yet when I do, I always ask myself why it took me so long to come back. I typically go to get empanadas as they never seem to run out or because I happen to be making a quick stop after some shopping. This Publix is a Publix Sabor, meaning that it caters to the Hispanic clientele. The placement of this location is simply perfect as it's directly in front of Westland Mall. Also, hello; it's on 49th street, which is Hialeah's most prominent street, and well, Hialeah has the majority (if not all) of its city being Hispanic. The employees there, too, are always very sweet and helpful. Huge fan of the ladies at the bakery. I've never had any issues. Oh, and that's without talking about the variety of foods found there and how neat and organized the entire store is. Hmm... maybe I should stop being so lazy and drive to this side of town. I don't know what's happening lately but my family and I have been finding EXPIRED food items on the shelves and accidentally buying some EXPIRED food items. Last year (2018) I bought my dog some bone marrow treats and they were expired (you could feel they were bumpy and hard). I thought it was just a fluke though and let it go. Two weeks ago I opened a bag of baby spinach I bought and the smell was HORRIBLE and it felt slimey. Last week my mother bought 2 packages of frozen stuffed pasta shells, one was okay but the other was expired a year. My mother actually returned it and told the manager and when she went to the shelf again she found one that was expired in 2016!!!! And now, just yesterday my mother bought some red potatoes and when she opened them up they smelled rotten. She drove with her car windows open back to Sabor because that's how bad it smelled. This fairly new Publix has left me in aw. I've never been to impressed with their high prices, which they claimed were in exchange for their friendly service and quality products. I've barely ever set foot in there; I was highly resentful that they would dare charge me 1.79 for a 2liter Pepsi I can get a Walmart for .99 cents. But as of late, this has really been impressive. This publix is huge, all the products are clean, fresh produce- beautifully strewn - glistening colors. Everything is well organized and delicious. Their "sushi' is as good as it can get for it sitting there for a while. (Notice I did not say it was great) The sushi chef will greet you with all the enthusiasm in world, making your not-so-enthusiastic trip to the market a little bit better. Not to mention that you now witness with your own eyes that the sushi your getting is being made right then and there. The bakery is amazing as well. I dare you to stand there and inspect all the pastries. The cakes are so beautifully tempting, they scream, "EAT ME NOW" and trust me you can't say no. And let me tell you, they have one of the best cakes I've ever had. Years ago, I would go to Vicky's Bakery, for that special someone's birthday cake. Now I think Vicky who? The pastelitos are soo purrfect. They are the kind of pastelitos I dream of. Just enough filling, and not too flaky dough. Nom, nom, nom, I want to jump in the car and get some. So yes, the prices sometimes are a bit high. But yes indeed you have to pay for shopping in an elated state. :-) read more

What's not to like about this Publix? It's clean, neat, and is usually fairly empty! Parking is always easy to find (even parking up close to the entrance). Sure, there's more of an older crowd, but I've never had an issue. I spend most of my time going through the fresh produce section, and it rarely disappoints. They have great sales on their salad mixtures and usually always have the types of fruit I'm looking for. One thing I will note: I usually never buy strawberries from here. They barely have any and the ones they have are usually ugly/rotting. Either than that, everything else is great! Their dairy section is always organized, and occasionally they'll have a deal on Chobani Greek yogurt, where if you buy four you get one free, on top of the $1/each special. Definitely make sure to look at the weekly ad so that you don't miss out on any deals! Sometimes the cashiers will let you know, but most won't - and it's not their job to do so. With that being said, I've never had to wait on line, which is a huge plus, especially for Miami. The cashiers (whether they be older or younger) are always friendly and attentive. The staff on the floor are always kind too and have always been able to help if I'm looking for something specific. I haven't visited their deli/cafe/or bakery section, but I always see people at their cafe, and the food looks pretty tasty. I'm sure that the taste doesn't vary much from Publix to Publix, so I wouldn't fret. They also have a decent wine section near the poultry section! I will continue visiting this Publix and you definitely should too! read more

Studded jeans and pointy white shoes. More Spanish than a latin country summit. Publix Sabor - you do it for me anyway! Publix Sabor has it ALL! It's modern and clean. They have tons of registers (that are actually open, unlike other places) and helpful staff with guayaberas. And just because it's Hialeah, they don't short change us on products. We have everything a Coral Gables or Miami Lakes Publix (my second favorite location) has. The Bakery and the Deli are fabulous and well stocked/organized. And we have El Sol 95 jammin' in the parking lot occassionally - beat that Pinecrest! read more

I moved out of Hialeah and now live in Westchester, off of Bird... I actually drive up here to shop. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Publix! Service is great, fruit section is never dirty, they have a very varied selection of ready made meals to choose from; their bakery is huge and well... it's just the best. They even have a 'peluqueria' (beauty salon for all my Anglo buds) and a Bijoux Terner section in there! I wish the Sabor I have by our place was like this one! read more

I love coming to this Publix. I wish I lived closer I would shop here all the time. This place has a regular Publix has. Plus some Latin flavor...hehe. The bakery is varied from regular desserts to some Latin desserts like flan, señoritas and other varieties. I only had one bad experience here. It was one evening I went to purchase some cold cuts. The line was atrocious. It was close to closing time I will admit. However there was only one person on staff behind the counter helping even tho there were two other girls not 5 feet away talking. Not once did either of them step in to help. All I kept hearing was ( pero que lindo esta ese color de pelo! Que tinte te diste?) This experience will not deter me from coming here. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service in the deli- sub department. I waited 25 minutes to get a Publix sub and the employee making my sub was very rude and condescending. Their sense of urgency was non-existent. He forgot to put avocado in my sub and when I asked for it he was rude to me again. I said it's fine I'll have it on the side. He stormed off and grabbed the avocado and asked for my bag. I said it's ok I'll hold it and he said "no give me the bag I have to put it in there." Coming from someone in the hospitality industry I know how to treat customers. This was a very unpleasant experience and I will not be getting a sub from here again. My recent letter of complaint to the manager of this particular Publix Sabor: Publix Bakery department: Selections Desserts: Pastries, Eclair, etc. I'm considering starting a campaign among family and friends to dissuade them to visit this singular Publix Sabor Prices have been increased disproportionately (3-4 times its actual value in price) in the Bakery Department in which I used to buy affordable breakfast before December 2012. Just one example: Recently the Bakery manager in store # 00832 increased a Eclair from $ 0.79 to $ 2.49. Still I have all the receipts, an the shame for his attitude. It is very important to note that even its own employees feel shame and sorrow and humility express ... the prices were already high prices and now they are even higher indiscriminate... I've been witness recently on January, 2013, with great sadness, as pairs of elderly have had to buy an Eclair and divide to share because they are actually super expensive, they commented. It is remarkable to note that Publix at Miami Lakes keep low prices and also superior quality in their bakery locate at 15000 Miami Lakes Dr E, Miami Lakes FL 33014, just 3 miles away. Were still a very fresh Eclair price is only $ 0.79. A huge contrast that beside their upper middle class area, Publix at Miami Lakes still shows respect for excellent quality plus affordable prices, which makes me realize that Hialeah Publix Savor is today taking advantage of the elderly population and limited financial resources of this area to abuse the population living in Hialeah area. This Publix Sabor has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my LIFE when it comes to Publix. I've been there several times, usually it's to get a sub - and I've always had to wait about 30 minutes. Today was the last straw. After waiting 30 minutes with just two orders ahead of us, I asked an employee who was doing something else if she could help her co-worker finish the three subs I needed. She bluntly responded that she was working on another order - mind you, I'm almost sure it was an online order and the customer was not there to pick up their food yet. Another lady was busy with the rotisserie chicken, the manager was hanging out in the deli. When I asked why it always takes so long to get subs, he responded asking me why I didn't place the order online. At that point, I'm pretty sure fumes started to come out of my ears. What happened before online ordering existed? The older ladies that work there are clearly more worried about getting their own jobs done instead of helping the customers that are waiting in line. Another lady told me she couldn't start on subs #2 or #3 because the other lady was already helping me. I'm like, hello?? why can't you start the other subs? I'm not sure I understand why Publix Sabor has the worst service when Publix usually prides itself on customer service. This publix is horrible when it comes to special orders I have had several issues in the past with online orders and even orders placed online now I am standing here running late for my daughters graduation because they couldn't have an order ready by 7:15 which I requested and it is now an hour later and I am still waiting horrible horrible!!! Great big Publix! This Publix is big and clean and efficient. They have a cafeteria with all kind of stuff. The deli is well stocked with product as well as staff. The set up of this store is great since it is so big everything has room to be it's own section and not so cramped up like other stores. The lines are pretty quick also. This is a very nicely sized store. They have a wide variety of Latin foods, more than the non-Publix Sabor stores. It is ALWAYS very clean and wel-kept. The manager, Jose Alvarez, is a great human being and most certainly has a great influence on the overall appearance and morale of the store. I absolutely recommend this store. read more

Hint "Sabor" Publix not the normal Publix - saying that, most of the Publix branding is at this "Sabor Publix" on 49th Street in Hialeah. However the Service Counter personnel are not customer friendly at all. I stood in line at several times to buy Lotto which is adjacent to the lines for Customer Service. All the times I've had to wait I've only seen how the Customer Service attendants including Supervisors and/or Managers treat the clientele. A customer that bought Publix brand food was rejected his return because when he scanned the box it would not come up on his register, a lady that came for change was told they could not give her change, another lady with a return was not issued a return because she did not have her receipt. At one time when I went to claim a piece of chicken from a Deli Prepacked box of 8 Pcs Mixed Chicken Box. (I only got 7 pcs. of the small pieces of a chicken including only 1 breast). I had taken the last box. The attendant and the Manager both were very hesitant to believe me. I asked for a refund because they suggested I wait 20 minutes to have 1 pc. of chicken fried for me. I said no, and they said that's the best they could do. And since I'm on the subject of only one box left of Mixed Fried Chicken, they "NEVER" told to me by the Manager of Hot Foods at the Deli, never do they fry the breaded Hot Wings ready for pick up. The only way they will fry breaded Hot Wings is if I call it in 30 minutes ahead for a special order. WHAT? Anyway they also serve "Chicharones" or Pork Rinds, they are never out in the mornings which we like to have with breakfast when I pick up bread. They usually take in out around 11:30 am or 12 pm by that time some times there is a crowd waiting for them and they go fast. Next you have to wait until 3 pm until they make some more. Another issue with the Hot Deli is that it is very understaffed. The same guy that cooks has to serve the people waiting in line. I always see the cook running from the back trying to get the cooking done and having to deal with the guests. Really specially during lunch time there should be enough people at each station. The Deli Cold Cut section runs perfect. They seem to have sufficient personnel to handle the crowd. While standing in line to buy lotto the lady in front of me commented about the customers not getting help to me, I said yes I see that no one wants to help the customers here, which is very strange for Publix Branding because the Publix I usually go in Aventura and Hallandale they bend over back to help the customers. The lady in front told me that's why they don't get help at the Publix Sabor because it's owned by a different entity and they do not have the same feelings and treatment for their customers. So I have opted to go elsewhere where I know how Publix usually treat their guests. Not at a "Sabor" store which is a shame since "Sabor" is hurting the Publix branding and what they have always stood for. read more
