The Victoria Harbour is about a 1 mile walk from the cruise port but some of the cruislines offer a free or paid shuttle. The harbour is very nice for walking around, eating at the restaurants and sitting a while to people watch and marine watch. The seaplanes constantly took off and landed in the water throughout the morning hours. On the day I was there, it was the 1st Water Taxi Boat Ballet at 10:40am. It lasted about 20 minutes and was fun to watch. There is also plenty of lodging in the harbour area as it is part of their downtown. I though there was alot to do and an easy way to spend a nice day. read more

The Harbour is covered in lights in December and is a romantic view. It's a beautiful place to visit regardless if it's day or night, winter or summer. Great trails and bike paths. Quite walkable. read more

The left side of the aircraft has single seats while the right side as two seats (side-by-side) - it's more comfortable seated on the left side naturally. You watch a two-minute safety video via iPad placed at the front and then you're on your way! Aside from the high price for a half hour flight (Vancouver to Victoria), the service, safety, and overall experience with this operation was excellent. Both flights were slightly delayed, but not the end of the world. If you've never been on a seaplane, it's a cool experience. We got to sit right behind the pilots, so it was extra cool. If you want that experience, be sure to line up in the front of the line and be right behind the pilot walking toward the plane. You'll then be first on board and get to sit up front. Made for an even cooler experience. read more

Cute airport with big comfy chairs and nice view to the harbour. They provide multiple free amenities such as wifi, coffee, apple, etc. The fly attendants are very friendly and helpful. I would suggest to come early since they give you 20% off for the flying otter next door. read more

I flew from Victoria back to Vancouver here. Great location. It departs from Victoria downtown. Just very convenient. Price was ok. Not cheap. $207 one way. But again, it saves time. Time is money. If you fly with harbour air, you get free tea, coffee, fruits but unlike the Vancouver location no pastries here. Or when you land you can grab pastries at the other locations if they have it. The flight is super scenic. I don't recommend paying the extra $10 for reserving seats. Either side of the plane is just as scenic. One thing about the floatplanes is that its quite noisy. Good thing Harbour Air provides earplugs. Also the planes is quite run down. Well it is a short ride so its ok. Overall, if I have to fly to or from Victoria, I would still take Harbour Air. read more

I am a nervous flier or flyer, again depending on your preference of work usage. In the US flier is most common. So, the prospect of me flying in one of these planes was daunting but since the rest of our group wanted to do this I decided to be a trouper. One of our group discovered the fly and dine at Butchart Gardens. I always love the gardens when I visit Victoria so this is what definitely swayed me. We got on in the harbor in Victoria and did a scenic flight over the city which was nice but I was still tense so some of the fun was lost on me. As we landed at Butchart Gardens it was interesting to see the scores of jellyfish in the water as we taxied to the dock. Kind of a novel thing to do. We walked up to the gardens and got the tour of them and then had dinner. Then we walked the gardens at night. After that, we met up with our limousine driver and drove back to our hotel in Victoria. A great time was had by all. I would highly recommend and I would do it again. Enjoy! read more

Booked a 45min sea plane tour around Victoria (about 30min on the air) and we had such an awesome time (aside from the occasional mini turbulence bumps). If you never had any experience flying on a small planes or sea planes, this is the perfect introduction to it. The take off and landing was actually very smooth and less stressful than large airliners. But once you're up there, you will feel every wind shifts and drops u like in large jetliners. If you're not a good flyer or if you just hate rollercoaster, this might not be for you. Although I heard that it was a windy day when we did ours, so on calmer day it wouldnt be as bumpy. We booked a Fly and Dine to Butchart Gardens via Harbour Air. It was by far the best cruise excursion that we did on our Alaska cruise. Full disclosure, we did not book this through our cruise ship we found it on our own and booked it before we set sail. So we arrive at the terminal for take off and our group was five and then another couple joined us. We board the seaplane and take off for a quick tour around the city. It was so very beautiful and clear that afternoon. It was a lovely ride and I can't wait to go back to Victoria and spend a few days there being a tourist and taking in all the sights. You then land on the water and taxi into the back side of the Gardens. Lots of beautiful homes on the water and boats of all types. It did start raining but that did not slow us down. We walked and took a ton of pictures of the gardens as we headed to the restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant it was a little drizzly and she asked if we wanted to sit on the porch. We were concerned it might be too cold but they give you lap blankets and there was a heater out there. We found out she offered to sit us outside because there just happen ti be a Concert in the Park that night and we were able to enjoy the live music while dinning. It was spectacular! The food was delicious, and I say that even after having spent six days on a cruise ship! After dinner we walked around a little more and then headed to the front where a limousine waited to take us back to the ship. It was a wonderful evening. read more

Great flight service to area destinations. We flew Vancouver to Victoria and back a few days later. Visibility was unfortunate because of the smoke in the air from BC forest fires. Flights were amazingly stable and comfortable. I've heard horror stories of small planes being bumpy but that was not the case. Our otter carried 14 on the way out and 18 on the way back. Each flight was about 30-40 minutes. A great way to get around. Also, according to their info they offset their carbon emissions so you can fly carbon neutral with them. read more

Very poor job they did with the Victoria Harbor controls on boat traffic. I came and stayed at the VI Marina. We were locked in our marina trapped because the harbor patrol won't allow boats out unescorted. Really a pain. It's a shame because I will now bypass Victoria as its too much of a pain just touring in my dinghy. The poor VI Marina spent 16 million trying to attract yachts and boats to visit and they are trapped in a no go zone. I mean really. The runway is 150 years wide. Takes up the whole harbor. No respect for boaters. If a float plane can't land in a 50 yard runway they should not be flying. Leave a two way traffic lane for boaters on both sides and use a couple of patrol boats to keep the runway clear, a 50 yard wide runway not the whole harbor. Place some runway market buoys. They have gone so overboard here very disappointed. Victoria International Marina is 5* except not a destination until they fix the access and maybe add a breakwater for the direct ocean swells. read more

We have been to Victoria a few times and seen the sea planes landing and taking off. I always assumed they would be too expensive. Turns out their tour prices are pretty reasonable! We went on the basic tour of Victoria with our two sons (ages 6 and 9). It was amazing! Our eldest got to sit up front and be the co-pilot. He was in awe the whole time. Pilot Mick was the best! This week was my first riding the seaplane to Victoria, and I am DEFINITELY doing this again! NO security hassles, complimentary Wi-Fi at the terminals, convenient location right at the inner harbor and you can check-in up to 25 mins before departure... I like this! The seaplanes save a TON of time and you're right in the inner harbor - I could pull my suitcase across the street to my hotel faster than a cab can get me there! The only downside is the schedule is highly dependent on the winds... they can only fly in smooth weather. But if the weather permits, I highly recommend it. Because of my flawed travel planning, we got to take a seaplane from Victoria, BC to Vancouver, BC. What an amazing ride! It was $160 per person and about a 35 min flight total. The views were amazing and the crew friendly. The inside is super small but not uncomfortable really. I'm now a fan of seaplanes and can't wait to ride in one again sometime soon! Do it!! read more

The plane ride was amazing. I love the scenery. They offer complimentary coffee and tea (in Victoria, BC). Free Wifi. Last Sunday, I was travelling with my friends on standby tix. First time I checked with a girl at the front desk for any available seats, she wasn't too helpful. The second time, my bf came with me, there were 4 of us together. We just wanted to get a ride back to DT Vancouver because it was Sunday afternoon, (The last flight of the day was 7pm. It was 2:30pm already at that time and apparently all flights were full, according to the last girl. The only plane that might have a few seats left was the 3:40pm flight!!!!) Well, since all of us have to go back to work/school the next day, we were afraid that we might need a backup plan for bus+ferry!!!!!! We thought it'd be hopeless, until we met a nice girl called Paige. Paige was very helpful. She found seats for us, and 4 of us got onto the plane together at the end. Plus, we arrived home safely. AWESOME!!!!! Thanks to Paige. We don't know what would happen without your help. The company is lucky to have a staff like you, and this is what we need for the front desk. Due to my flight from Medford, OR to Seattle being delayed, I knew I couldn't make my ferry ride to Victoria, so while waiting in Medford, I booked a flight on Harbour Air at the suggestion of the nice lady with the ferry company. The fact that I was able to book same-day was a major plus. I was picked up from SeaTac and arrived a couple minutes later at Harbour Air, a pleasant and quiet waiting room where we prepared for our flight. The flight itself was also pleasant and BEAUTIFUL, with gorgeous views of the sound and surrounding areas. The pilot was friendly and helpful, and our entire flight consisted of about 6 people. We arrived in Victoria (after the smoothest landing, and only water landing I've experienced) at our own doc and went through our own customs line with just the few of us, before heading on to our final destinations. I wouldn't hesitate to book Harbour Air in the future. read more

I was concerned if I'd be able to get into a sea plane, since my knee doesn't bend all the way. The folks here were very compassionate and helpful. So, I booked our flight from Victoria to Vancouver for the following day. Checkin was very chill and courteous. I enjoyed free wi-fi, and though we ate breakfast already, there was a nice selection of fresh fruit, muffins and coffee. I was given pre-board privileges and helped to get into the plane. The staff didn't make me feel incompetent or rushed. The pilot put me in the last row, emergency seat which was absolutely perfect for my bum leg. The view was amazing. I grinned the whole 30 minute flight over, and took lots of photos. This has been one of the highlights of our trip to British Columbia. It was worth every penny! read more

We were vacationing in Victoria and took a day trip to Vancouver. Flew Harbour Air there and back. They staff was really friendly and helpful. The ride was smooth and on time. Bonus! I took two kids for 30 min tour. A lady at the ticket counter said we can get better seats if we pay additional $30 and I did. After 30 min, she told me "politely" that she made a mistake that those seats were taken and she can only give us 1 select seat. She said if we go to the gate earlier. we should get a better seat since other seats are first come first serve. I asked her have other passengers been boarded and she said no. We went to the gate immediately but 8 passengers were already boarded and the pilot said with bad attitude that he did not have our select seat on his list and sound like we are trying to get the select seat for free. How come those passengers were allowed to board while the ticket counter asked us to wait in the lobby for boarding announcement? Did they pay extra for early boarding? For 30 min, with that price and services, definitely NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

Loved it! I'm not a fan of flying, but saw these float planes taking off and landing in the Inner Harbor and I had to try it. Our pilot, Caleb, was super and put us all at ease. What a beautiful flight to Butchart Gardens! The best CAN$109 I ever spent! Try it! Awesome and great fun! read more
