I was very pleased with this hotel. I enjoyed the hospitality, the room was nice and location was great! Every restaurant near by was walkable. The employees here are friendly and nice . I really enjoyed the lounge! I would stay here again!

The hotel is centrally located and you could walk to many restaurants nearby and so is the parliament (about 12-15 min walk) Also it was my dad's birthday and I messaged them through the app if there is a cake or something that they could send and even was willing to pay for it. But the staff was too nice to send us a slice of cheese cake with a happy birthday written on it. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and nice views if you are staying in the upper floors .. definitely going to stay here again when I am in Victoria next time.

This hotel is located right at the heart of downtown Victoria. Hop, skip and a jump to shopping, restaurants, pubs and the waterfront. Rooms are clean and well-appointed. We stayed on the top floor with sweeping views of downtown. Staff are friendly, courteous and attentive especially concierge, valet and Ether, the front desk manager of the hotel. I highly recommend staying at this Marriott when you plan your next trip to beautiful Victoria.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE It can be pricey depending on the time of year (e.g. cheaper around Christmas; expensive in the Summer) - but you get what you pay for here - great choice (if not the best quality choice) when in downtown Victoria! === 2. ROOMS As of October 2022, all of the bedroom areas in each room appear to have been renovated to the current Marriott corporate standard; the bathrooms retain the legacy (5-10+ year old) look and standard for lights and finishes. Ultimately, the rooms are comfortable and quiet, even when near the elevator. The beds are soft with two types of pillow (soft and firm) electrical outlets abound throughout the room, many with USB charging capabilities built-in. A mini fridge is included in each room, as is a safe. The new backlit faux wall where the TV is mounted is a nice touch (and a great night light for small children who need one away from home!). Each room has multiple openable windows (awning-style) and many rooms have a small balcony upon which you can enter with a full-size windowed door. For the business traveler, wired Internet appears to be available in many of the rooms; however, I have only been able to use the wireless Internet during my many visits and the signal is strong throughout each unit, performance is good for office work, video calls, with no challenges related to the use of VPNs. Many charging options are available, and the desk light is adjustable with three brightness settings. On the down side, some of the rooms (corner rooms only perhaps?) do not have a floor lamp in one corner (where the windows intersect) making it unnecessarily dark in the evenings. One also hopes there may be a budge to update the bathrooms in the future (though they have recently moved away from the small disposable soap/shampoo/conditioner bottles to the large, reusable, pump-style dispensers...though they are simply placed on the bathroom vanity, as opposed to being mounted anywhere. === 3. SERVICE Always top notch - even now, post-pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, many of the same faces could be seen at the front desk, concierge desk, Fire & Water restaurant, all providing excellent service. The pandemic-related layoffs saw few (nearly none) of the staff return and so while service is still strongly positive, frequent visitors will notice it's not as good as it once was. === 4. ENVIRONMENT If you're looking for a clean, bright, modern-looking hotel to stay in, you're in for a treat here! The lobby and Fire & Water restaurants are good sanctuary choices, as is the M Lounge (Concierge Lounge) now located on the main floor - open finally again 7 days a week for eligible guests to enjoy breakfast, light dinner, desserts, and of course all-day refreshments and snacks. Those with baby strollers and wheelchairs will not have any difficulty here. Parking is located underground and it fills up quickly during the busy season; I believe additional parking may be available at a nearby building should it be full downstairs.

The hotel is in downtown area, within walking distance to everything. Valet parking only for this swanky elegant hotel. The staff were all super friendly! The place is clean and high end style. The lobby is huge couches inbetween the reception area and the restaurant. We got a beautiful corner suite 1106 that had views galore! A balcony we stood outside on and soaked up the residential architecture. This is by far one of the nicest suites we have stayed in. The M Club (hubby is elite member) was really nice as well and offered us happy hour, dessert time, and snacks and drinks, and breakfast. We definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a mid range price. We will be back to go to The Gardens. I could only upload 10 pics so I can't share everything ;-)

Needed a hotel in Victoria that allowed pets and the Marriott was accommodating and was reasonably priced. Located downtown, a couple blocks from the harbor. Walking distance to the Empress, History Museum, Parliament and plenty of restaurants. Parking is located underground. Upon arrival, check-in was smooth and friendly. Our room was warm and cozy with comfortable beds and plush bedding. Free wi-fi. A couple of notes: 1. They expect you to take your dog with you if you leave. That was a first. 2. We stopped into the restaurant one morning to inquire about getting a coffee. They said they were more for breakfast. No matter, we strolled on over to a coffee shop. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Hotel is in great location, steps from the harbor Restaurants shops & pubs. Our room is clean comfortable and quiet. We have a small balcony that looks out on rooms in the neighboring hotel. Colin, Louis and Benjamin the concierges have been wonderful they really made our stay special, They arranged tours, museums tickets and our ferry to Vancouver. The gym & pool are nothing special. The big negative is the Wi-Fi, we have trouble getting on and often get knocked off. With a hurricane at home & family issues we needed to be in touch; the internet was very frustrating & costly,

There is also a trail suitable for wheelchairs and other assistive devices. This is not a really large garden, but very well designed and laid out. The variety of species is fantastic and the flowering blossoms are everywhere. The tea itself is a different story as I'm a bit of a tea snob. There are no menus or choices for sandwiches or type of tea. I found the tea sandwiches to be dry and stale bread. Being a tea snob, I also prefer private seatings instead of 8 strangers at a table all reaching into the same tower of sandwiches for choices you didn't get to make. Non Europeans just don't understand the finer points of tea. This 'European seating' of strangers sharing a table works for western ideas of pubs, not for an afternoon tea. Five stars for the garden. 2 stars for the stale sandwiches and tepid unknown tea with no cozies or leaves strainers or spoons or choices...
