    Conference buffet snacks (vegetable chips!)
    Thu P.

I stayed here during a work trip and I have no complaints! The room was quaint and clean, wi-fi was adequate, and the balcony view of the inner harbour was beautiful. Love the king bed. I went to the pool every night -- unfortunately no sauna or hot tub.. and also unfortunately the gym was renovating when I went. Staff provided a microwave at my request -- much appreciated! My only complaint is the water in the shower felt quite hard -- it felt drying on my skin and hair. The surrounding area of the hotel is really beautiful and there is a nice path to walk right outside the hotel. The conference room we stayed in was nice and the buffet and snack food provided was actually quite delicious. My favourite was the vegetable chips -- tell your admins to order it if they're booking the venue!! The hotel also provided my partner conference room bookings free of charge. It was great as she needed a space to work while I was at my work conference.

The doorway that lets in all hallway noise

Stayed here Easter Sunday. Pros : amazing location, beautiful views of the harbor. Amazing staff. Bathroom soaps were amazingly fragrant (tea tree). The Nespresso machine in the room was a nice touch. Where it lost stars was in the noise level and food. My kids wanted the sliders, which neither of them liked. Dry and under seasoned. I tried them and didn't care for them either. Neither finished their food. I was also surprised that the bill for the food didn't show the auto gratuity already added, just space for a tip and total, so when tipping 20%, the staff ended up with closer to a 40% tip. The second issue was the noise. When I mentioned it to the room service attendant they were very attentive, and offered to speak to the front desk and transfer my room to a quieter one, but at night with my kids it wasn't worth it to move. My issues were with the door seals. The seagulls could be heard from inside, and people 50 feet down the hallway, I could hear talking from inside my room. I slept with the TV on for background noise so I would hear less from the other patrons. I don't know. For 300 a night, and if i booked this room with my lady, this would have made a serious alteration to our evening. The hotel made up for this with a very attentive staff, a very concerned staff, and a nicely clean room. And of course the soap. That is the expectation of an expensive room though, so it hit my standard. I feel like the fixes to my issues are inexpensive: some weather stripping and a clearer receipt for room service, and maybe a bit more quality control in the kitchen. Again, maybe that's just room service, but for the price, I do expect excellence. Total cost after parking fee and the extra tip on the sliders brought me to just under 400 for the night. Pic of the view and the door seal (or lack of). You can see the light streaming from the balcony through the door from the hallway....

Very conveniently located with views of the inner harbor and city. Coffee watching the boat and planes was a treat. The restaurant was very good. My salmon omelette was terrific.

This place is going through major, LOUD, and incredibly dusty renovation and they decided to continue booking rooms located practically IN the construction site. Honestly I'm waiting for them to ask us to wear hard hats in our room. No one warned us that the hotel is under major construction upon booking. We asked to be moved to the opposite side of the building or somewhere more quiet, and they moved us two doors down - to the other end of construction site. This almost feels like we're being punked. Even on Laurel Point's website, there's no real warning, they minimize the scope by calling it mere "lobby construction", claim that it only impacts the lobby and state, "Throughout our renewal, our guests will still benefit from our beautifully appointed guestrooms." There is nothing beautiful about the room(s) we were appointed at full price. So, because we weren't forewarned about this really poor experience, I hope to save someone's vacation by writing this review.

Outstanding hotel. Beautiful, modern, spacious rooms. Ultra clean and comfy. Great service, quite friendly and efficient. Perfect location on the inner Harbour. Easy parking. We walked everywhere, and water taxis are right outside. Highly recommended.

Best hotel decision I have made in years. The boyfriend and I decided on a last minute weekend getaway and chose Victoria. After doing some research, we discovered the deal with the Victoria Clipper from Seattle to Victoria. This hotel was offered as a package deal and after reading the reviews on here decided why not! We arrived earlier then our check in time and figured we would stop in and see if we could at least drop our bags off. To my surprise, they had our room ready and allowed us to check in early. We didn't have any solid plans on what we wanted to do while we were away, so figured we would ask the hotel desk staff for some recommendations and low and behold were completely blown away with the level of service we received. We were lucky enough to have James assist with checking us in and he went above and beyond to give personal recommendations for places to eat, and drink and have a great time while we were out. He even called up the restaurant he recommended to make sure they were still serving breakfast! The hotel staff personally went through and made a list of restaurants they recommend based on their own experiences and have everything laid out in order of category. Ask for the pamphlet at check in! The room was absolutely stunning. There's two wings, one is older, the other was added at a later date. There isn't any renovations being done like the other reviews say, but we stayed in the Erickson wing in an "Erickson Wing Studio Suite", and the room was everything you could ask for and more! The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was clean from head to toe and the view outside our room was gorgeous. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant or spend a ton of time there, but the walls weren't thin like other reviews said, and this hotel went above and beyond to make our experience everything I could have imagined and more. I look forward to our next stay out here in the summertime! Ask for James, and stay in the Erickson wing and you are guaranteed to have an amazing time!

Thank you for making his birthday special!

Thank you to Melissa and the team at Laurel Point!! We visited last week for my boyfriend's 60th birthday and they made our stay very special! They brought up a bottle of bubbly and helped with my special order birthday cake. After a day of sightseeing, I emailed Melissa and the beautiful cake was delivered to our room just before we returned. We can't wait to come back and we know your remodeled lobby will be beautiful! Also the room and the service were excellent!

I wanted to gut-check our plan to take the ferry from Seattle, use Uber to get to their hotel (and could we please leave our luggage up front since we'd arrive before check in? - to which the answer was, "of course you can!"), and then use Uber all around town. The very pleasant woman I spoke with (those months before arriving) assured me that our plan should work splendidly, and they looked forward to having us. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two of the nicest front desk people, who took our luggage for storage, then found our room had indeed been cleaned as early as possible and was in fact ready for us for early check in immediately! The property itself is reminiscent of a period of taste and attention to detail that seldom exists any more. Our room was beautiful: spacious, with two separate bathroom sinks and a separate jetted tub and walk-in shower, plus a small sitting area and plenty of space! So nicely appointed with everything in its place, and everything working. The entire lobby and library/lounge area was also beautifully appointed, and so homey and inviting. And breakfast - included with the room - was elaborate and scrumptious. Each day features both sweet and savory options; for example, pancakes, or eggs and bacon. My wife and I got one of each and shared them. It was all delectable. And each day's menu, specially prepared and printed for that day, includes a weather forecast for the day - even with temperatures in both Celsius and Fahrenheit! We had such a wonderful stay that we hated to leave. We'd look forward to visiting Victoria again and would definitely choose Abigail's hotel again!!

The Library was a great quiet location, the room (Opal room) was comfortable, large, and provided greaat views out the many windows of the trees around the building. We particuly enjoyed breakfasts offered. Different each day, the quality was excellent as was fresh brewed coffee. Given the number of guests and limited dining room space for tables, the hotel requested us to pick a timeframe to dine so that the pace for table availabilty and meals were manageable. We chose 8:30A and we arrived each day with 10 minutes of that time. Worked great to get a table without feeling rushed or the food delayed in arriving! And each afternoon the chef put out a nice spread of meats/cheeses sometime, and homemade soup other times. All in all a great experience!

As a Marriott member, we were able to enjoy the Lounge for breakfast during our stay and their continental spread was of a much higher quality than most places. Freshly basked muffins of healthy variety like cherries and carrots really made my five-year old very happy. The scrambled eggs were a notch higher with some really good cheese blended in and seasoned perfectly. Lastly, the sourdough bread they serve was very tasty - must be local. And with the weather warmed up, you can really enjoy the breakfast on their outdoor patio facing the marina - was one of the highlights moments of our stay, especially since we couldn't get a room that faced the marina this time! Despite having a Do Not Disturb sign clearly displayed, hotel staff entered my room without my consent, later explaining that it was a "wellness check" required when a room has not received housekeeping service for three consecutive days. However, no attempt was made to call my phone, leave a voicemail, or contact me in any way before entering. In an era where every guest provides a phone number at check-in, this should have been the first and most basic step. Entering a guest's room while Do Not Disturb is displayed is a serious violation of privacy. Additionally, I had requested and received towels directly the day before, and I had declined housekeeping at check-in, which contradicts the claim that my room had not been serviced for three days. To make matters more confusing, management later focused their response on the presence of my service dog, asking me to confirm if I was traveling with a dog. However, my dog was present with me at check-in, so it is unclear why this suddenly became a concern or why it was brought up after the unauthorized entry. What was most disappointing was the response from Danielle Powell, Director of Operations, who repeatedly justified the situation rather than offering a sincere apology for the intrusion. The tone of the communication felt confrontational rather than customer-focused. Overall, this hotel is a very poor representation of the Marriott brand. Privacy and respect are fundamental expectations when staying at a hotel -- especially when a Do Not Disturb sign is clearly displayed. Unfortunately, that basic expectation was not respected here.
