We had a wonderful stay at the magnolia hotel, which is right in the heart of downtown Victoria. Walking distance to the Empress, Old town, China town, the Harbour, Parliament (and a bunch of other popular landmarks). The room was very clean. There were welcome cookies and drinking water (yay). I appreciated that the crib was already set up with a child's blanket too (I've been to other hotels where they didn't provide any covers). So moving on to the bathroom...The bathroom was quite impressive! There was a bathtub AND standing shower. Foaming bath soap was provided too (like they really want you to use the bathtub). I loved how the toiletries were L'occitane products and smelled so good. I used the bathtub (ofcourse!) and dear god that bathrobe was like sitting in a pillow. Very soft and comfy. It was great. The downside to staying at this hotel was the noice. I'm not sure if it's because we were on the 2nd floor or because we were facing a resto/pub but it was pretty noisy at night and that made it hard to fall asleep. Other than that, I highly recommend you try the restaurant at the hotel for breakfast. It was delish!

Wow wow wow I can't say enough about this hotel! I planned a "momcation" solo getaway from Seattle and had the best time. I chatted with the team by email and social media prior to arrival, and they were so kind and responsive. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted, and was notified I was upgraded! My signature diamond room, legislative view was everything I could have hoped for - an amazing bathroom (the tub was so relaxing), a comfy bed, the most amazing hotel bathrobe ever, and stunning views of parliament. The housekeeping staff was so kind and always greeted me as I came and went from my adventures. The Courtney Room dining options were wonderful! I had room service for dinner and picked up breakfast. The food was top notch, especially the Hokkaido scallops and the shakshuka for breakfast. Last but not least, run don't walk to the spa! I had the magnolia signature treatment and oh my gosh it was wonderful! Spa treats are one of my favorite splurges to do, and this one was incredible. It started with a massage, facial, sugar scrub and soak in a hydrotherapy tub with 62 jets. My massage therapist was the sweetest! All in all, it was such a lovely getaway. I'm scheming my next one, and will definitely be purchasing one of their epic bathrobes!

    Nice big bathroom!

Wow, the reality is not using travel points I could never afford this place. It is beautiful. Our room was a city view queen and it is nice, big and clean. The shower is amazing, though a tub would be nice as well. The bed is comfy, so those are my big concerns dealt with. The room is fully stocked (pay). Everyone was very friendly, they even lend bikes to tour the city. The wife enjoyed the spa, it was just a great time! I will say I think we were 10 years younger than most there. Also the valet service is great, cant forget that!

Great hotel In prime location downtown Victoria. You can easily walk to pretty much anything! We stayed for two nights and would definitely stay here again. Check in was easy and the room was very clean, there was also A/C which was a bonus. The only thing was I wish there was a bathtub! The Courtney room restaurant had fantastic breakfast and they also have valet parking or underground public parking across the street.

Everything about my experience here was top notch. The staff were all highly trained and professional providing everything you needed. The interior design of the hotel and the rooms was exceptional. The staff remembered me by name when I returned back from touring around to inform me they had made the dinner reservation I had requested. And the fact my room was upgraded one level didn't hurt. The hotel was so quiet and relaxing I never heard a sound from the room and rarely even saw other guests. The attached bar restaurant was lovely as well. I just had a glass of wine but the bartender was exceptional. While it's not the grande or on the water (1 block from each) selecting this hotel was the best decision I made the entire vacation.

Amazing experience! My best friend and I wanted a weekend getaway to Victoria. We wanted a boutique luxury hotel and the Magnolia did not disappoint. We arrived early on a Saturday and we knew our room would not be ready yet, but we wanted to drop our stuff off and valet our car. The front desk and all staff was exceptional. Very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Check in is originally at 4pm. We arrived at 11:30am, our room wasn't ready but they will text us when our room would be. To our surprise we get a text at 12:30pm that our room was ready but we were having lunch. We walked back at 1:30 to get our room. We received an upgrade on the top floor with a great water view, though originally we had requested a two queen beds we got a king bed instead, we didn't mind. The room was lovely, very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We love the special touches, from the apples and chocolates in the room, bubble bath, turning down the bed and so many other little things. The lobby also offers coffee, tea, fruits and pastries in the morning. I love the ambiance of this hotel. The location is prime, centrally located, walking distance to everything you need in downtown Victoria. They have a spa and gym facilities which we didn't use. We had breakfast at the restaurant "The Courtney" opened at 6:30am. I booked this two night hotel stay on Expedia and also received VIP with $25 credit towards food in the hotel which was icing on the cake. Overall, it was five star experience and we will be back.

If you can get a room with a view, do it! Those views of the government building and the Fairmont are swoon worthy. The boutique hotel is quite nice, with large, well designed rooms and super comfy beds. The shower is wonderful with nice bath products as well! I love the chocolates and the large carafe of water to keep you hydrated, along with the nespresso machine for a morning zing! They provide a complimentary continental breakfast which is not awesome. I know, I'm complaining about free breakfast, but it's so weak, why bother. Stale sad pastries from potentially Cotsco, hard boiled eggs from a huge bag, pretty flavorless oatmeal, and so on. Again, it's free, but I'd rather of saved $5 off the hotel. With check-in, you receive a comped app coupon from the restaurant below as well, but sadly we didn't end up utilizing it. Staff is on it, answering questions and greetings. Wifi was solid. Great location. Umbrellas to use for those rainy days. Parking lot nearby, but ample street parking. Magnolia is definitely a top contender for a Victoria stay!

REVIEW #3700! Mmmmmm..... Girl we've been at work all week Fingers to the bone we need A little hit of you and me A little time alone All day I've been thinkin' about Quitting early, skipping out And haulin' ass to hit the Room And hang with you at the Magnolia .......so baby I don't know about you but I'm ready to roll! Gayle V. and I spent a wonderful Victoria Day Weekend at the Magnolia. In fact, she's still raving about here experience here, in terms of the View, the Comfort, the Roominess, the nice Continental Breakfast, the spot-on Service, her soft Bathrobe, and of course the Aveda Products in the Bathroom. As you can also see from her separate Yelp review, she was very pleased. That's high praise as she's very particular about Hotels, and hearing "This Will Not Do" from her could have cast a dark cloud on this romantic getaway. The Hotel has 64 rooms and is centrally located just a few blocks up from the Inner Harbour. I booked the Signature Corner Room at the 30/30 Rate and it was a great value for the money. This type of room is 395 square feet, offers a postcard view of the Parliament Buildings, features floor to ceiling windows, and has safe door and window openings to let the fresh air and light in. There's also free Wi-Fi, a nice work desk (if I were here on Business), generous Cable TV offerings, plenty of comfortable sitting space, complimentary local calls, and a shower with plenty of hot water and pressure. Our only regret is that we didn't have the chance to have the complete Magnolia Experience. That includes the Prime Steakhouse and the Magnolia Spa. Both are probably destinations in themselves, and I guess Gayle and I will have to try them out the next time we're here. And we will be back!

I wanted to gut-check our plan to take the ferry from Seattle, use Uber to get to their hotel (and could we please leave our luggage up front since we'd arrive before check in? - to which the answer was, "of course you can!"), and then use Uber all around town. The very pleasant woman I spoke with (those months before arriving) assured me that our plan should work splendidly, and they looked forward to having us. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two of the nicest front desk people, who took our luggage for storage, then found our room had indeed been cleaned as early as possible and was in fact ready for us for early check in immediately! The property itself is reminiscent of a period of taste and attention to detail that seldom exists any more. Our room was beautiful: spacious, with two separate bathroom sinks and a separate jetted tub and walk-in shower, plus a small sitting area and plenty of space! So nicely appointed with everything in its place, and everything working. The entire lobby and library/lounge area was also beautifully appointed, and so homey and inviting. And breakfast - included with the room - was elaborate and scrumptious. Each day features both sweet and savory options; for example, pancakes, or eggs and bacon. My wife and I got one of each and shared them. It was all delectable. And each day's menu, specially prepared and printed for that day, includes a weather forecast for the day - even with temperatures in both Celsius and Fahrenheit! We had such a wonderful stay that we hated to leave. We'd look forward to visiting Victoria again and would definitely choose Abigail's hotel again!!

The Library was a great quiet location, the room (Opal room) was comfortable, large, and provided greaat views out the many windows of the trees around the building. We particuly enjoyed breakfasts offered. Different each day, the quality was excellent as was fresh brewed coffee. Given the number of guests and limited dining room space for tables, the hotel requested us to pick a timeframe to dine so that the pace for table availabilty and meals were manageable. We chose 8:30A and we arrived each day with 10 minutes of that time. Worked great to get a table without feeling rushed or the food delayed in arriving! And each afternoon the chef put out a nice spread of meats/cheeses sometime, and homemade soup other times. All in all a great experience!

I responded by saying that place is our hotel. We made reservations for 2 nights. We didn't stay for 2 nights as my wife had a serious trip and fall accident in downtown Victoria. My wife and I spent more time at the Royal Jubilee Hospital than she did at the hotel. I only got to sleep 3 hours in the hotel after my wife sent me to the hotel to get some sleep knowing that we needed to get back to the USA as soon as possible. Our room was nice. We used our Nightly Upgrade Awards and were given a fantastic room with a view of the harbor. We were excited to stay here, until the accident. It would've been nice if they had gave us back one of the Nightly Upgrade Rewards that we used but, I didn't think about it at the time of our departure. Service was great. They were very understanding of our situation, knowing that my wife was in the hospital for that first night. The manager gave me a sandwich knowing that I didn't have time to get anything to eat. After talking with him, they allowed me to check out a day early. I was able to go their executive lounge. They provide breakfast and and evening appetizers. Soda and water are always available. It was not the hotel visit that I envisioned. My daughter spent more time here as I gave her the keys to the car so she could stay at the hotel instead of the hospital. They were very helpful and understanding. Even though it was a short visit, my wife is already planning on going back.

We visited on July 4th weekend, which I would assume is one of the most busiest weekends. Despite the holiday weekend, this hotel provided the best EV charging situation I've ever experienced - there was always at least one available charger in the downstairs garage and there's two available for use outside in the valet area. I loved this hotel's outdoor walking space - beautiful harbor views with lovely landscaping and pathways of varying heights, tons of pedestrian and dog walking traffic. We brought our dog - the designated pet rooms have vinyl flooring. There's pet rooms on different floors, but we unfortunately got the ground floor level, which feels slightly shabbier as you're walking through the hallways (it smells faintly like a restaurant's dishwashing area). My only other gripe is there's three elevators and they run pretty inefficiently but stairs to the lower level (gym, pool, and garage access) were not easily found.

Despite having a Do Not Disturb sign clearly displayed, hotel staff entered my room without my consent, later explaining that it was a "wellness check" required when a room has not received housekeeping service for three consecutive days. However, no attempt was made to call my phone, leave a voicemail, or contact me in any way before entering. In an era where every guest provides a phone number at check-in, this should have been the first and most basic step. Entering a guest's room while Do Not Disturb is displayed is a serious violation of privacy. Additionally, I had requested and received towels directly the day before, and I had declined housekeeping at check-in, which contradicts the claim that my room had not been serviced for three days. To make matters more confusing, management later focused their response on the presence of my service dog, asking me to confirm if I was traveling with a dog. However, my dog was present with me at check-in, so it is unclear why this suddenly became a concern or why it was brought up after the unauthorized entry. What was most disappointing was the response from Danielle Powell, Director of Operations, who repeatedly justified the situation rather than offering a sincere apology for the intrusion. The tone of the communication felt confrontational rather than customer-focused. Overall, this hotel is a very poor representation of the Marriott brand. Privacy and respect are fundamental expectations when staying at a hotel -- especially when a Do Not Disturb sign is clearly displayed. Unfortunately, that basic expectation was not respected here.
