We hired Victorian Fence to install a new fence, and unfortunately, our experience has been extremely disappointing. First, I want to say that the workers themselves were hardworking. My frustration is not with them, it's with how the company managed the project. They started the installation on May 19 with only two workers, even though it was clear that two people could not complete an entire backyard in one day. Two additional workers didn't arrive until around 4:00 PM. The most important part of the installation, the gates, wasn't installed until around 8:00 PM, when it was completely dark outside. I don't understand how anyone could properly install gates under those conditions. Unfortunately, the rushed installation has led to ongoing problems. One of our gates was installed incorrectly and now will not shut or latch unless someone pushes it from the back every single time. As of today, July 14, it barely shuts at all. The metal hardware has become damaged, and because the gate is misaligned, the latch repeatedly strikes the white vinyl fence, causing damage to the fence itself. The gate posts also move far more than they should whenever the gate is opened or closed. The lack of follow-through has been even more frustrating than the installation itself. On May 21, just two days after the installation, Joe came to inspect the fence. He acknowledged there were multiple issues, made notes of everything that needed to be corrected, and left with the understanding that the repairs would be scheduled. We never heard back. On June 1, I contacted Joe again because one of the gates had stopped shutting properly and I was concerned about how much the gate posts were moving. I received no response. After following up again on June 9, Joe returned on June 11 for a second inspection. Once again, he reviewed the issues, said everything would be taken care of, and told me he would send me a follow-up email. That email never came, and no repairs were ever scheduled. It is now July 14. Despite multiple phone calls, text messages, two site visits, and repeated promises that the issues would be fixed, nothing has been done. There are still chunks of concrete and construction debris left in my backyard from the installation, and we're left with a gate that no longer functions properly. For a company that prides itself on its reputation and quality of work, this level of workmanship, communication, and customer service is incredibly disappointing. We paid in full expecting a professionally completed project, not months of unanswered follow-ups and unresolved issues. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Victorian Fence. read more

After purchasing a home that needed a new fence I with out a doubt knew I was going to call Victorian Fences because of a few friends that have had installations in the past. After meeting with Mark the sales rep we didnt even hesitate to accept the estimate for the work. We waited a month and a half for a installation date. We spent almost 8000 and on the day of the installation we received moldy fence and a crew that didnt bother to make sure the gates were sitting properly. we have a double gate that had an inconsistent gap reaching 4inches in one spot. Another gate that appeared to close properly but if you leaned or pushed on it from the inside it would pop right open. The fence had was level but the installers picked the highest level leaving us with 6-8 inches off the ground in some spots. We called to have the fence repaired and Mark came back and assured us that the moldy panels would be replaced and all of the other issues would be corrected minus the gaps on the bottom of the fence. Two weeks went by and no call and I pull up to my house in the middle of the day and there is a crew looking for an outlet to power wash my fence.... Really!!! I stopped them immediately and called into the office. The crew and no idea about replacing the fence or the gate and spacing issues. Today the neccessary repairs were made and the fence looks better. But my entire experience with Victorian was more than disappointing. No customer should have to experience or receive product and less than satisfactory installation. I have toddler and a dog making the fence very unsafe. Needless to say our entire experience with Victorian was dissatisfying and we will look for another company if we need a fence in the future. read more

It was just a nightmare. We waited 30 minutes in the waiting room for Anthony to emerge from the back. He seemed very attentive and took my information. I was looking for one vinyl fence section 5 feet wide and 5 feet tall. Anthony asked when I needed it, and I stated I needed it in 10 days. Anthony said there was no problem and it would be done by Tuesday (I came in on Thursday) next week. Before I left, I was specific about what I was looking for. The fence would be 5 feet wide (not 8 feet wide) and 5 feet tall (not 6 feet tall). Anthony stated that it wouldn't be a problem. All I had to do was dig the post holes and assemble the fence. He would cut everything to the specifications I requested. Tuesday rolled by with no phone call, but I called Wednesday to see if it was ready, and it was. I pick the fence up, and it's not 5 feet tall. It's 6 feet tall, and it's not 5 feet wide. It's 8 feet wide. He didn't have the pieces cut and just gave me the standard size of a section of fence, not the 5-foot wide 5, 5-foot tall fence I requested, which he acknowledged and reassured me would be done. I bring the fence home, cut it down myself, and install it. My wife calls to question why it isn't cut as requested and acknowledged, and I hear Anthony state he told me (no, he didn't; he reassured me it would be cut to size; all I would have to do is assemble it) it would be a standard size section of fence and that is why he doesn't work with the public. Unfortunately, Anthony, you don't work with the public because you are a layer and a cheat. From your reaction, this isn't the first time you lied to a customer, fell short on a deadline, or produced subpar work. I wish I read the reviews; I would have never gone to Victorian Fence. I called at 0930 in the morning because the wind blew apart a section of my fence that I just had installed a few months ago (still under war.) The person I talked to said she would send a text and someone would call within a couple of hours. I wait and wait....nothing. I call back at 1230, get another person, says they close at 1200 on Saturdays but will send another text with an "emergency" tag and that someone will call me....nothing again. Now I have to wait until Monday to call again with a huge front facing section of my fence missing and looking like crap. Would avoid Victorian fence just from a customer service perspective. read more

Several months after they installed the fence, we had a very bad storm. Our neighbor had a tree come down and knock out a section of the fence. We were able to put it back together pretty good, but it did have a top piece that was cracked. The fence section would fall over when the wind was strong. This company was recommended to me by a friend and even though she had several issues with the installation I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I scheduled an appointment which took better than three weeks for them to get to me . This was fine as I was curious if they would make good for the shotty work that was done at my friends house. THAT HAS TO DATE NEVER BEEN CORRECTED ! After taking a day off work for a 2 o'clock appointment no one showed up so I called the office. I was told that Victor the sales person was due to come out but he said he was unable to so he passed it on to someone else and they too were able to give me an estimate. Victorian Fence just installed a new vinyl fence around my brother's house in Coram. It looks fantastic. They 2 man crew had to tear down and remove the old, dilapidated wood fence and cart it away. No small feat on a 90 degree, muggy day. They showed up promptly and it took 2 days to complete. From the sales appointment through installation they did a superior job. John did not show up at the appointed time, nor did he call. After waiting 3/4 of an hour, I called him on his cell. He said "oh, I'm running behind, I'll be there in 1/2 hour or so." Horrible. Don't use them. I used John, The Fence Guy who is now affiliated with Victorian Fence. They are both terrible. Very bad customer service. They come out for new estimates and installs, however don't follow up timely with any needed repairs. I will soon have to renew my building permit because they have delayed repairs needed for me to pass inspection. When I told John I would expect compensation for a permit renewal because of delays on his part, he laughed at me. Christina from Victorian Fence is unprofessional and hangs up on customers. I do not have enough great things to say about Patrick! From the first day my wife and I met him we knew he'd take care of us. The estimate was fair, and provided on site. We got a number of estimates, and while we probably could have found somebody else to do the work a bit cheaper reputation mattered to us. We had safety concerns, so Patrick and Joe squeezed us in during their busy season. We have had an entire Summer to enjoy our new yard and fencing. The craftsmanship is wonderful. The aluminum fencing, aluminum railing, and PVC fencing is beautiful and sturdy. Our neighbors compliment the work. The backyard and deck were left clean and not damaged. I had a PVC fence put on my property by Victorian Fence about five years ago and I have to say that I was extremely satisfied with this company and the fence still looks brand new. So when I needed a service call to have some roots cut because they were lifting a section of the fence, I called Victorian Fence. The receptionist was very courteous and sent out the sales representative in a timely manner. The sales representative was very pleasant to deal with, was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. An appointment was then set up for September 20, 2016 for the morning for the job to be done. The technicians arrived at seven thirty AM. and the job was completed in about an hour. They were all courteous, knowledgeable, professional, explained what needed to be done, and cleaned up after they finished.
