I left my information at the desk in case they found it but I didn't have my hopes up. I then received a call from manager Shelly. They found my wallet, cash/cards/everything still in it. I don't live in town so they shipped it to me. I couldn't believe the amount of professionalism from her and her team. Cash still in there? Unheard of, I am still in awe. I can't say enough good things and now this? Terrific business and overall staff from top to bottom. Ok, fair enough. I was charged to be in the pool room, not swimming because their policy states an adult must be there. In the pool room, not in the lobby, which has a window to the pool. I was charged because they "fill to capacity and run out of chairs" there are literally 5 people in the whole room as I type this and not a single person sitting in a chair other than me. When I asked the front desk person about how I could get a hold of the manager to question the ridiculous policy I was told "no, it's the weekend and she will tell you the same thing". What a shit attitude. I understand capacity limits. How about not selling day passes if they are at capacity so you don't have to charge someone to sit and do nothing. I have reccomend AmericInn to out of town visitors in the past but will never again.

Green County provides a nice getaway, and Albany House is the perfect base for us. There are four bedrooms on the second floor and the third floor is a suite (two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a common area). Their website has pictures of everything so you can see the rooms before you make a reservation. Albany isn't a well-known destination, but if you want to relax, ride your bike on the Sugar River trail, sample lots of cheeses, visit the best brewery in Wisconsin (or any combination of those things), I would recommend checking out this B&B. The breakfasts are fantastic -- enough to get you through most of the day. And now they just opened a cottage (really a vintage bungalow on the Sugar River) across the street with two bedrooms and bathrooms plus a whirlpool tub (in a separate room with a fireplace) and its own kitchen, dining room and living room. It looks really nice (but we haven't stayed there yet).

Soap, lotion and other essentials are available in case you forget something. Treats, coffee and tea were available at all times. Games and books and magazines in the room. There are only ten rooms per floor so we thought it would be a quiet place. That evening, however, a large group of adults and children took over multiple rooms across the hall from us. From around 6:30 until around 11 there was constant conversations and children screaming while running from room to room and slamming doors. Thankfully it stopped around 11 pm and we were able to get to sleep. The peace was short lived, as they wound up again just after one am. The next morning, as we were leaving for the day, we stopped at the desk and asked for our room to be refreshed. The clerk said she would have it done. On our return to our room we found it in the same condition as when we left. I went down to the desk and asked when the housekeeper would be available and was told that they were gone for the day. I told her that we had requested that it be refreshed. She told me that if it hadn't been done it was probably because I had left the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. (It really bothers me when a staff member automatically blames me without any information.). She said that she would talk to the housekeeper and make sure it was done tomorrow. I told her that we were checking out in the morning and she merely shrugged. I asked for towels and went back upstairs. The two stars are for our initial impressions, though that's being generous.

We have a group of us that have stayed here several times. This year we had to cancel our…read morereservations on August 1 for our October 20-22 weekend. 2 days later we were all charged a $50.00 cancellation fee for a total of $200.00. Just wanted everyone to note their cancellation policy. We had given over 70 days notice that we were unable to make our trip this year, but it doesn't matter the $50.00 is their set cancellation fee. I would also mention that the air quality in the log cabins is awful!! We opened our windows, bought air fresheners and nothing got rid of the musty moldy smell that permeated the cabin and irritated our sinuses and lungs. This was not a one time experience, we noticed the smell on at least 2 of our stays among several cabins. It was so bad that the last reservation (cancelled one), we had all booked their other cabins, not the log cabins. I have told our group to count me out if they decide to go back, just left a bad vibe with me.
