The front desk staff has been very nice, not rude like some of the previous reviews. The room were very clean. The only one complaint I have is the tub wasn't clean to my liking, but I can take care of that . However, because everything was else clean, and because of the courteous staff I overlooked it. No hotel has been A1 , not even some of the best hotels by ratings I stayed in. See for yourself, and you be the judge. So far no complaints, keeping my fingers crossed

I walked into the reception area and it was noticably hot! But a lady came out and I asked her if she had a room for the night with a king bed. She did!!! We weren't sure what to expect, but we were beat being on the road all day. We got a room with two king beds. It was very plain, but it was a place to sleep. My wife checked under the mattress for bed bugs and there were none! Another plus!!! There were cups and an ice bucket in the room so I took the ice bucket down to the ice machine I saw to get ice and low and behold the ice machine did not work. The TV had a remote, but the remote didn't work and you had to change volume and channels with the buttons located under the TV screen!!! But we didn't leave it on long as we were beat. There was no soap bars or shampoo in the bath area or sink area, just dispensers like you would find at a service station to dispense liquid soap and conditioner. I turned on the A/C and it came on and started cooling, but when the compressor kicked in it made a horrible grinding noise!! The wife fell asleep quick like she normally does and I was tired but everytime that compressor kicked in it would rattle me awake until exhaustion took over and I finally just passed out!! Woke up the next morning and it had gotten a lot quieter. It was almost like someone had got something Ina fan that finally just wore out. I usually don't give anything less than four stars, but in this case two was all I could muster. If your just dead and need a place to lay your head this will get you by, bit just don't expect quality!!

The Neathery Estate - This is the view of the back of the estate. The pool. Unfortunately, it was not ready for use during our visit.

I booked the room -- the Anthony Suite on the top floor -- a year in advance. This place has a decent refund policy with enough advance notice, so if you are considering the Nethery Estate, book early. There are not a lot of rooms here and it appears from the pictures inside of it that groups/families tend to rent all of them for events, so it can fill up quickly. The estate is a nifty place. It is an older style home, but well kept. You park in the back and are texted a code for the gate to get in. The key to your room is left outside on the back porch and you go to your room as you would like. Definitely a colonial style home with a suit of armor next to the stairs (that's true). If you look closely around, you will see several references to Harry Potter, which my wife enjoyed finding and we looked around. Our room was awesome, with a nice couch and TV in front of it, a small table to sit at to eat, a comfy bed, and a separate bathroom with a cool tiled shower. Downstairs has a small sitting area, a bar, and another room has the long dining room table. My wife and I were comfortable walking into the place and going in and out of our room to activities as we saw fit. We did encounter some of the other guests, but only briefly. There is a small ice machine, which we used while we were there. And there is a mini-fridge next to it that guests had put in some leftovers as there aren't fridges in the rooms (which is all fine because Tiffany handles some of the cooking for you!). My wife and I went outside to hang out for a while because we had been at the zoo during the day and it was 86 degrees -- which is hot for us Oregonians for the beginning of April. We brought swim wear as the first amenity listed on Netherly's site is the salt pool. Sadly, it was not heated and still appeared to have some small branches from the property in it. It hadn't been warm enough for long enough for it to be available. The hot tub adjacent to it didn't have water, but honestly, I didn't remember anything mentioned on the website about a hot tub, so it was not anything I was expecting anyway. We can and enjoyed the back yard for a little bit, but opted to go inside and take a shower to cool off and then head out for activities. The first morning I had paid extra to have food delivered to our room. It is a good thing I put on some pants when I opened the door because Tiffany walked in to set down the food on the table for us. I've been to a couple other B&Bs and it is usually left outside, but I figured I'd not answer in the nude and that was a good idea. We were told she enters to set things up to ensure we don't eat in the bed as it is a nightmare to clean up (and I believe it). We had chopped potatoes, some waffles, and a little bit of fruit. More than enough for my wife and I. The next day we ate at the large table downstairs. We ate with a couple from France that had come to view the eclipse. Tiffany was very pleasant and talkative during that time. I cannot specifically remember all of the food, but it included more chopped potatoes, some toast, and I cannot remember what else. It was good food, though, and more than enough for me to eat. Tiffany also gave us a dessert cornmeal kind of muffin that was pretty good as well. For my personal experience, I look to the front page of Nethery's page that touts "Southern Hospitality Hotel Accommodations with a Pool" that the next page says is open in spring. summer, and fall. I don't think the site even mentions a hot tub, so no worries on that. It may not have been warm enough for the pool to really work out so early in April, but we were looking forward to having a more private pool than one found at a large hotel. The home is beautiful and sitting outside to bask in the sun is nice. Getting in and out was easy and the room we had was awesome. If you pay to have breakfast in your room, make sure you are dressed. You get generous portions and the food is pretty good! But look -- the pool thing aside, which I wouldn't want anyone reading this to make too big of a deal about as it didn't ruin any plans and wasn't the primary reason for my choosing Nethery Estate, we had a great time. My wife was very pleased that Nethery Estate was where we spent our 2nd anniversary together. It is certainly it's own experience and Tiffany is a great host, so if you are considering staying here -- book it.

BEWARE!! BEDBUG INFESTATION! We went to Nocona this past…read moreweekend to have my husband's memorial. We booked 2 rooms for Saturday night. When we checked into the Veranda Inn, everything appeared clean. We all went to sleep until 5:30 am when my children called me to tell me that there were bugs all over their beds. This was in Room 126. I went and picked up one of the bugs to take to reception. They agreed that it was a bed bug and said Monday morning the regular desk person would give me a refund. She swore that in the year she'd been there they had never had an issue like that before. Based on the fact that the mattresses were in zippered bags and there were tiny bed bugs and big bed bugs I doubted that was true but I let it go. I went and gathered our things to inspect them and placed our luggage in trash bags. We left at 7:30 am unshowered and exhausted. I didn't cause a scene and left thinking they were going to handle things. Instead on Monday I had to call them at 2 to ask what was going on and the receptionist said that they weren't going to give me a refund since they weren't going to charge me a $500 fee for smoking in the room. A blatant lie and the cameras can show him going outside to smoke. He refuses to throw his cigarette butts on the ground and instead brought them inside to the trash can. I've already reached out to the Health Department. Here are the pictures my son took of 6 separate bugs. And the multiple bites my daughter got.
